4 RespuestasThere is a clear wage gap. Anyone with a friggin brain can obviously see that. The head surgeon at a hospital doesn't make the same as the janitors.

8 Respuestas
Change my mind
I have four college educated daughters. All in careers that would make a dad proud. They barely earn a living wage. That's a pretty big wage gap.

The wage gap doesn't exist and it's painfully obvious women don't want higher paying careers, they don't want overtime, they don't want to relocate it's simple u want the easy job u get paid less. If men got paid more than women for the same jobs they would only hire women unless feminists are saying that women's work is of so such a low quality it's not worth saving the money

4 RespuestasAbolish currency, which would destroy the possibility of a wage gap existing.

While I am obviously not interested in changing anyone's mind, here are a couple short summaries on the current research on the gender wage gap [Trigger Warning: articles are from Known Leftist Propaganda sources Vox Dot Com and Failing New York Times] https://www.vox.com/2017/9/8/16268362/gender-wage-gap-explained https://www.vox.com/2018/2/19/17018380/gender-wage-gap-childcare-penalty https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/13/upshot/the-gender-pay-gap-is-largely-because-of-motherhood.html

3 RespuestasEditado por Paladin: 7/11/2018 2:20:05 PMThis is all assuming you mean a gender earnings gap: I mean, there is an earnings gap, but it’s a justified one. Men on average do get paid more than women do. But that’s justified. Studies have shown that women get lower paying degrees than men typically get (women tend to get degrees in things like psychology and teaching, while men tend to get degrees in engineering and computer science). Partially because of that, women tend to have lower-paying jobs like teaching and cleaning while men typically have jobs as engineers, architects, computer programmers, and the like. Men and women get paid the same for the same work, it’s just that women tend to work less hours or have lower-paying jobs.

7 RespuestasThere’s clearly a wage gap. A CEO of a company doesn’t make the same wages as a janitor of a McDonald’s. Oh. You meant “gender pay gap”. Yeah...that’s still a thing, too.

There is most definitely a gap
between your ears
What is this, beat a dead horse month for you? Can't you talk about anything original or that has not been discussed and argued over too many times to count?

4 RespuestasEditado por pValue2010: 7/10/2018 12:08:58 PMIt’s a simple statistic. You can’t really argue that 4 = 5. Whether or not it is warranted - that other confounding variables than simply prejudice - is a separate conversation, and maybe that’s what you’re after.
-
Well theres not a wage gap, as positions dont have two salaries. I've never looked at a job posting that said, men make this, women make this. But if you look at car insurance and courts, there is a clear cost/rights cap that is written on the books. These are actual laws that need change.
-
Not a wage gap, earnings gap. Small but important difference.
-
Nope. You’re right. It’s a myth.

3 RespuestasBut men do jobs better and more efficiently ..
I'm cold, want fire
1 Respuesta1. A "prestigious" career makes more money than a "low class" career. 2. A higher class of job in the same field earns more than a lower class of job in that field. 3. Men, on average, do earn more money than women. However, this is mostly accounted for by the socialisation of men to be aggressive risktakers, i.e. men are more likely to shoot for higher paying jobs and ask for raises and promotions than women.

1 RespuestaThere is actually an earnings gap between males and females (not sure where the 8 million made up genders fall), but it's like 1% or something once all factors are accounted for.
-
What do you mean? There is def a wage gap between me and a football player but there's not between me and a female co-worker, in fact if anything the discrimination is against me, in my job you have to pass a basic fitness test, the men have to run further and do more sit ups and press ups to pass yet we all get paid the same.
