I call this the overwatch philosophy. (Get the inspiration?) if some gun is overpowered, Don’t nerf it, buff others to help them compete. If no gun is left behind, no gun gets ahead. Instead of pulling back the strength of a certain pulse, buff some other exotics and legendaries. Don’t ruin fun, bring more fun.
Edit: eyyyyy first trending!

Any nerfs need some serious consideration, so as long as Bungie is willing to put the time and effort into it, then a nerf isn't always bad. Still, it should be one of their last attempts for balancing. That said, there are very few things in the game that need outright nerfed aside from possibly Wormhusk, and especially Rahool's shader drop rate.

1 RespuestaI mean, it's just gonna get to a point where we have Call of Duty levels of TTK...
-
then you get power creep and the TTK is to high and we are back to D1 shot gun meta of who presses R2 first. pretty lame. overwatch doesn't do this don't kid yourself they nerf things all the time (Tracer Bomb, Hog gun dmg, soldier bullet damage
-
Yes. Just yes. All of the yes.
-
If they use that philosophy they would ultimately be buffing every weapon then they have to buff all the NPC's that we kill and then they have to buff some of the weapons again you see where this goes
-
3 RespuestasYou're are actually asking the sandbox to do their job. Not a good thing because it will literally be ignored. You have to ask them to nerf the most popular so they can feel good about themselves. You know, patting themselves on the back for "listening" Serious though, making weapons compete with one another would be the logical thing to do but, IMO the sandbox mind is still stuck in D1. "we have to keep nerfing things to change things up" No you don't lol. I will never understand how they don't get that, or how when they said they created weapons to be equal and they never even came close to that.
-
Not just buffs. If you only buff then this will become an issue. You need balance between the two. Nerfs co exist with buff. I do see some weapons do need to be nerf but not too much and others need to be buff.

No shit Sherlock
-
My answer to this is to always be anti meta. It sucks sometimes but it’s helps to improve gunplay against metas. I’m using the mananan and old fashioned. It’s a good mix
-
My problem with your position is that I must trust Bunnie to correct multiple guns at one time as opposed to nerfing two guns. They will screw it up and we will be in a worse situation than we were to begin with.
-
7 RespuestasIf a weapon is overperforming you nerf it to match the curve. If a weapon is underperforming you buff it to match the curve. You can't have balance without both. Buffing everything else to match the one gun that's doing well makes as much sense as nerfing everything else to match the one gun that's doing poorly.
-
3 RespuestasBullshit, Graviton Lance needs a range nerf. Like it or not.
-
they haven't nerfed any weapons, at least not that i'm aware of. they said in a video when they were first rolling out exotic changes that they decided they weren't going to be nerfing weapons in this game, just bringing everything else up to speed. if they have nerfed something, what have they nerfed?
-
We said this first week of d1, they do not listen
-
Editado por Legend of Jordy: 7/4/2018 9:28:02 PMUh, they did that. Just leave it as it is.

1 RespuestaI agree, alot of people agree, but then you get the triggered kids who scream at their tv whenever they die in trials because they were too stupid to emote around a corner
-
1 RespuestaOp you are basically wasting your time with this thread. You should know bungies track record when it comes to weapon balancing. They only listen to the pvp cry babies. Don't be surprised if this ends up in the thread graveyard "the feedback forums".
-
3 RespuestasIn the beginning there’s a meta, the meta generally outperforms the majority of weapons. The meta weapon is nerfed which is then replaced with a new meta. So the cycle continues Past metas include: Vex Mythoclast Suros Regime Thorn Hawkmoon Red Death MIDA Multi-Tool Etc. Sure there’s the odd weapon that’s viable and not quite the meta, but that’s all it ever is, viable. It doesn’t outperform the meta weapons. I very much doubt Bungie shall break the cycle and instead shall nerf GL and VW only to be replaced by the new meta. For all we know the next cycle shall be the golden age for the Fighting Lion or Prospector. Who knows with Bungie.
-
Every game that tries to achieve some semblance of balance nerfs things. What you're asking for would basically be the first occurence in the history of modern gaming
-
2 RespuestasNo one including bungie has even said anything about any nerfs. They have stated in vid docs and on forums and in twabs that weapons will be buffed to match others that are performing well. They said before in d1 when nerfing weapons that it was like if a nail was sticking out they’d hammer it back down but now they want to pull the others nails out to match, this will continue to raise ttk. Hopefully they start with forsaken buffing all the archetypes of legendaries cos lately it’s jus been exotics.
-
1 RespuestaThere comes a point where that doesn’t work anymore and the game just gets degraded into a mess. Overwatch nerfs stuff too, it’s a part of balance. An excess of either is problematic
-
9 Respuestaslike maybe buffing the 390 pulse rifle archetypes.
-
1 RespuestaHow about give all weapons the power they deserve and leave it the f alone. Who wants to kickass with MIDA one week only to get your ass kicked with it the next. I heard all this hype about Prometheus Lens and now it just sits in my inventory. So..................I guess Im agreeing with you lol! Have a good one. Kill many and Die often!
-
They have already started doing this
-
Right now is one of the few times in the history of the game that this is actually a good suggestion. If we could make the Wing and Lance TTKs the standard, I think we'd be in a really good place in general. That said, if something is broken, fixing it isn't a nerf, it's simply making it function as intended. Nothing wrong with fixing bugs.

1 RespuestaNerf the lance in pvp
