This recent Iron Banner with the chest ornament has brought out a telling frustration in many people.
While grenades are “fine” (underused ‘nades need some attention, but they’re otherwise reliably lethal) the state of melee in D2 is discouraging.
A 3-hit kill melee is not feasible in a fast, modern PvP FPS, the time between melees is too long and some subclasses’ melee abilities do not work correctly (see; Sunbreakers).
Now generalised across all Titan subclasses, the Shoulder Charge abilities, despite providing a 2HKO when followed with a melee, are ridiculously impractical due to the team clumping issue and the chronically slow follow-up melee, which leaves players helpless after executing the Charge and deceased moments later.
Some simple solutions might be a wholesale increase to melee damage and speed. For Titans, a faster follow-up punch after a Charge would be desirable, as well as a fix to the other Sunbreaker subclass melee, which currently does less damage over a longer period of time than even a normal punch.
I feel these would be positive changes to both PvE and PvP players, and would make future melee challenges much less arduous.

2 RespuestasActually, I've run into a strange problem with Melee. If I start a melee fight (I get the first melee hit), the enemy I hit only needs to hit me twice, and I have to hit him 3 times in total. Wtf Bungo, I should have him then and there, but NO. HE gets an OP melee for some reason, so he can kill and bag me, even though I wouldve had him. This also seems to go the other way around. When I get meleed first, I tend to win, and still, WTF bungo. Fix this.

IMO, a charged melee should remove shield and deal at least 50% to the red bar. Maybe make it so only armor 9-10 guardians can survive 2 melee hits. And they should reimplement melee cool down buff, like the perk you could get in D1, it could be an armor mod. There's so many exotics and class features in D2 that play into melees, but in the current state of melees attacks those options do not seem appealing.
-
I hate that the chest plate ornament for the iron banner is harder to get because grenades and melees are nerfed dramatically.
-
1 RespuestaI still want to know why swords uses charges for anything but their heavy strikes as the damage to enemies seems to be the same as a punch to the face regardless?
-
1 RespuestaThe only thing that 2 melees will bring is more hunter crutching. As a titan the only big advantage I get is my exotic shoulders that allow me to combat a cheese double jump around the corner for the SMG-Melee combo.

Editado por [SiN]大き氷: 5/7/2018 2:31:53 PMIt really just asks you to shoot a bit more before you begin meleeing. So it's only really punishing people that sprint up to people and melee as their man source of kills. I'm reminded of halo reach's shields absorbing all damage before they disappeared. People just could not wrap their heads around shooting just a bit more.

Two hit melee kills, and faster too, would probably become meta, what with the weak, slow to kill weapons D2 suffers with. It would also remove any advantage or use a few exotic gauntlets have...
-
I had the chest ornament and didn't know how until I read that you needed melee kills.

2 hit shoulder charge? shit most players it still takes 2 follow up punches for me to kill them after the shoulder hit. Suppose they have a decent armor amount. But doesnt matter they shoot me to death after the first follow up punch
-
all grenades could use a buff as well I've shoulder charged people before then hit them with a melee and they still didn't go down. but at the very least it should be that 2 melees take you from full health to something like 10 - 1 HP

4 RespuestasEditado por THUNDERCHILD: 5/7/2018 4:45:19 AMMelee needs to be a two hit kill. Some guardians are marksmen, some are shock troops and some are ninjas....or at least they were until Bungie killed variety of play style for D2. I would happily go so far as to strongly argue that there should be a possibility for a one hit kill melee with a quick takedown animation if the hit comes from directly behind, or maybe behind from a crouched position. There could be a variety of takedown animations that could be unlocked much in a way much like emotes.

Melee is garbage in both pvp and pve, a big buff is required for pve whilst a medium buff for pvp would be great. Also a grenade buff in both too please
-
Exactly this!

3 RespuestasI don’t want a one hit kill melee or shoulder change. It’s great this way. Learn to shoot and you’ll do fine.
-
2 RespuestasThe devs did a pretty good job, giving Shoulder Charge an actual... uh charge. Then they goofed by making it a 2 hitter. Should we perhaps ask them to change that name to its proper one? Suicide Dash!
-
1 RespuestaWant good melee play Hunter. They have best melee it's the strongest, fastest, and has the most reach with out a exotic.
-
3 RespuestasYou ever get that overshield from a melee strike as a Sentinel but since you're being fired at when you get it you die anyway? Shit happens all the time and it's infuriating. It's like the bullets ignore the overshield.
-
1 RespuestaI would appreciate if there was an actual melee weapon slot instead of sword as power weapon. So you could have a fast melee weapon that would not do as much damage per hit. Slower melee weapon that could do devastating damage. And so forth towards more interesting things and character customization. With slower/faster I mean rate of melee attacks.

2 RespuestasGit gud scrub
-
Agreed. Should be a 2hit kill.
-
-
I couldn’t agree more with this. Melee in this game is ugly.

Melee bump

Yes. They did it to just to make Destiny like counter strike but failed.
