Like wtf.
Year 1 Destiny 1 crucible was just a side thing for the main PvE game modes.
Year 2 and year 3 slowly made the game more PvP focused by nerfing everything that made you powerful.
Fast forward to Destiny 2 and this game is PvP only. Like Bungie went into this game wanting PvP to be the main focus on this game.
So a side activity used to train Guardians to fight against the Darkness is now our main focus. Great.

1 RespuestaI agree on this. I like the PVP, but absolutely I think you're spot on in your assessment.
-
I started tell other PvE players if we want anything, we have to do as the PvP players did and quit playing the game . As soon as the PvP players quit playing bungie began kissing their backside . If we PvE players want anything we must quit playing the game . PvE players out number PvP players that means we support this game , remember they left the game and bungie chased after them they showed they have power . We need to stop laying down and letting bungie walk on us #boycottpve.

3 RespuestasThe Crucible is the Destiny universe's biggest inconsistency. Humanity is supposed to be surrounded by five races of enemies and makkng its last stand against total annihilation... and its champions are fighting each other. It's like having a pillow fight in your bedroom while your house is burning down around you.

4 RespuestasIt takes both sides. PvE and PvP. I don't know about balancing them together, it just doesn't seem right. I love PvE. I do hate how changes made for PvP affect PvE negatively. But I'm not gonna act like PvP multiplayer doesn't matter, because it does. People like it, play it, and it has high replay value. Balancing rarely is an issue on the PvE side. Unless it's something like Gjallarhorn which I'm sure everyone can agree was OPAF, there's not much need or outcry to balance shit on the PvE end. RNG? Yeah. Bugs? Yeah. But weapon balance? I've never looked at a friend's arsenal in a raid and complained about how OP their gear was, or bitched about how game breaking their weapons were. Because in PvE we want the meta. We want to have a solid loadout that's effective time and again, whether it's Sleeper, Spindle, Dark Drinker, or whatever. No one bum rushed the forums or social media crying, "OMG! This kid was using Dark Drinker on Aksis's legs and it killed him so fast! Your game is broken Bungie! Fix Dark Drinker now!" No, naturally, we are only upset when a meta kills us. When we are Aksis. When shoulder charge wrecks, or Matador is abused, or blink is exploited, we want it changed. So in other words, no shit the nerfs and changes come from PvP. Now, do I agree with how they change it? No I didn't. Never did. "Lots of people are using tripmines, let's nerf them" instead of "how can we make people want to use Swarm Grenades too? Or Incendiary Grenades?" But I mean, it should still come as no surprise that lots of sandbox changes are going to be influenced by PvP. Should it be separate from PvE? Maybe. But it's kinda odd to not expect it from the PvP side. And besides that, there have been several changes to PvE they've made from the dumbasses looking at data and not liking how we play PvE. Such as the old slow nightfall approach using Icebreaker. "We didn't feel like that's how our game should be played". Okay dickheads, then go play your own nightfall the way you want to, and stop trying to hate on me using a god damn epic gun to help me solo a nightfall when my friends aren't online. But I digress.

1 RespuestaEditado por blade329: 2/15/2018 7:30:46 PMThey probably went the generic vanilla shooter route because it requires less content and less effort. They know that playing with friends extends the replay value of a game, so that became their focus.

1 RespuestaI can see it, Bungie saw how popular Destiny was on Twitch, so they decided to build the game around it. Unfortunately they completely misinterpreted why it was so popular, and in the end they ended up building a game around misinterpretation. They got everything wrong, and now it's no longer popular. And, worst of all, PvE suffers greatly from their misinterpretation. Bungie really need to let go of their obsession with balance, and giving everyone everything.

1 RespuestaEditado por TheArtist: 2/15/2018 7:13:46 PMPoor brand management. Bungie made a “shooter” game whose player base is made up primarily of RPG gamers. So the things that usually work when managing shooter games consistently fail to work with this game.

11 RespuestasI was bored with Destiny after the first 2 weeks. Thank the maker their was a PvP mode.
-
6 RespuestasIt's just easier and cheaper to make "content" by having players fight each other. I mean, Dark Below was a pretty weak expansion, but at least we got a full raid out of the deal, not just a "lair". Crota's End was still exciting despite its flaws.

Logged twice as many hours in PvP than PvE in D1. I would have stopped playing if it wasn’t for PvP. D2 I’m just not playing much lately.
-
1 RespuestaThe emphasis on PVP doenst make sense in the lore and doenst make sense in a loot based game.
-
2 RespuestasYep. PvP is the main game now. Who wants to save the world over and over again. SMH. I can’t get satisfaction from killing AI enemies. Let’s have a crucible campaign.

5 RespuestasGlory to the mods having to move another post to feedback.

3 Respuestasyeah similar to jousting and sword fights back in the medieval times.. some men played games of war and others waged war.

10 RespuestasEditado por RingersCheckmate: 2/15/2018 12:57:50 PMDunno how PvP is the main focus, but okay. It’s got quite a lot less than everything else if you look at it: PvE activities offer you a set of armor for each planet (four total planetary sets) with random weapon drops. This isn’t including the vanguard or raid armor sets either. PvP offers one set, with a set of exclusive weapons too. So maybe you’re saying there’s higher light drops in PvP? For your powerful milestones you have your weekly casual milestone and trials in PvP modes. PvE powerful gear milestones: Flashpoints, heroic strikes, Nightfall, and raid. Sure, PvP focused.

Bump, ikr.
-
It's funny, because despite all of the complaints and criticisms of the nerfs or weapon slot changes, this game is still way more PvE than it is PvP. With how much power ammo that drops in PvE I often forget what it was like having a special slot in D1.
-
I'd save the universe over taking pride on a pointless civil war! Ghaul was centimeters close to ending us thanks to the guardians bickering about who's the best!

So true

5 RespuestasYou must have forgot about the first nerf in vanilla - you know the one that dropped pocket infinity from 8 rounds to 3, also lowing the chance of ammo to return to the magazine, the one making the range and stability of mythoclast so horrendous that this trophy of completing bungies first most challenging PvE content they had ever released, on hard mode, was basically useless until a future fix came along - all due to being to OP in PvP. Oh what about house of wolves, the one that released 2 new end game activities, PoE and ToO - one of which, the PvP ToO, having the best gear and elemental burn primaries Sorry if you feel you were ever mislead as to the importance of PvP in destiny but they’ve made it pretty clear since launch of vanilla 😕

1 RespuestaI’d imagine there’s a lot of down time for many guardians. Beats spanking the monkey every respawn

11 RespuestasLike most games , once your done with the story , multiplayer is usually what keeps people around.

14 RespuestasSorry man but I’m not buying it... This IS all about the crucible... The entire hate train. In Destiny 2, People who are bad at the crucible get very little freebies to keep their head above water.
