D2 has/was/is the equivalent of a participation trophy. Can't believe how pathetically easy it is to collect everything. What happened to the d1 metrics of don't play the raid don't get max level? Now you're just handed max level even if you are a mentally disabled paraplegic monkey. Absolutely pathetic how awful this game is.

1 RespuestaIt's like a virtual reality version of The Wall of Gaylord. "Hmm, I didn't know they made 9th place ribbons".
-
Casuals cry because they can't or won't do the more difficult endgame activities, yet want the rewards for doing so. So instead of offering viable ways for them to participate in those activities, such as in-game lfg, a more fleshed out, less broken Guided Games, or Optional Matchmaking, they just hand it out like candy. Bungie logic.

9 RespuestasYou're wrong. Participation trophies require participation. I have Trials gear and have never played Trials. D2 gives "Congratulations for knowing someone who got a participation trophy" trophy.
-
This is by far... The dumbest community, in the entire gaming history. 😂 Also, shitiest company award for 2017-2018. 💩💩💩
-
I'm tempted to report you, this comparison is an insult to the monkey.

11 RespuestasEditado por zNapSack: 1/19/2018 6:27:35 AMThere were a lot of people who reached max light in D1 who never participated in raids. We took many LL 400 players through WoTM for example who had never participated in a raid prior to that. Whereas in D2 one can get raid loot simply by being in a clan that has members who raid. Even Trials of the Nine loot is obtainable in that way. As to why they did so it could be they wanted to make the game more accessible to the so called 'casuals' since they likely make up a significant percentage of the player base. ETA: I forgot to mention my Hunter and Warlock were 'Forever 29' for some time in D1, which was frustrating since it wasn't due to a lack of effort on my part, whereas with my Titan I didn't have that issue. Hence, I think it's safe to say those of us who were 'Forever 39' can perhaps see why D2 is the way it is. That said, I agree there are some things where one should have to participate in a given activity in order to obtain, for instance Trials gear. I got two Trials weapons from Hawthorne, one of which I already had. Nonetheless I was surprised that was possible.

1 Respuestai hate crying casuals, if you are casual just shut the -blam!- up!
Now you're just handed max level even if you are a mentally disabled paraplegic monkey.
Did that 'kind of monkey' played this game?
-
Well if you read their twitters - they are all bleeding heart liberals.... The narrative fits to what happened to this game.
-
Not sure I agree with the way you said it but I agree. remember the only way to get max level in vanilla was VoG, had to work for your level. Now it takes a weekend or 2.
-
1 RespuestaWell Destiny is a liberal company so they need to please their liberal fan base so they made a game where everyone wins!

3 RespuestasWelcome to the new dumbed down community requested world of D2

2 RespuestasYou know you could get max lvl in D1 without raiding also with exotics and strike specfic look...

5 RespuestasYou're angry because they made gear/max level more accessible to other players? Alienating an entire group of players out of your game for the sake of your happiness is a bad strategy on so many levels. Why do you think World of Warcraft added in "Looking for Raid"? Or other games have some type of tourist mode? Because the gamers that made it possible for you to play because we supported the gaming industry for the past 20+ years are now older, have jobs, have families and cant sit in front of the PC/Xbox or whatever for 5+ hours a day, not to mention that most parents are trying to keep their kids off games more and more. I will never understand this type of elitism that you're so self centered that what someone has some how ruins your game play because they may have gotten it in less time than you.

For starters, let's be clear that Destiny is as "entertainment product". That's literally what Bungie's contract says. This isn't a test of manhood or some bullshit like that. Destiny is something fun for everyone to enjoy just like any movie, TV show, song, book, play, or Disney on ice. Now let's add another layer. In-game rewards are part of the fun of Destiny. Plenty of games are fun without rewards, and the Halo games are the perfect example of this. We didn't play Halo 2 because it gave us some god tier weapon we could use against scrubs. Certainly not me, because I didn't even have a broadband connection at the time. But I digress. When rewards are added to the mix of fun then the game must reward players. Look at the PS4 trophy stats for D1. They tell a story of players unable to find legendaries and exotics and quitting out of frustration. How many quit? About 80%. For OP, that means 8/10 players never saw how great he was at Destiny. And now the final layer of this cake. Incentives are good. High level rewards provide the incentive to run high level activities. If Outback Steakhouse wasn't such a good weapon, I wouldn't have gone to so much effort to obtain it. But it was just enough incentive that I wanted to do all those crazy steps. Maybe all you want is a simple Trials of Osiris emblem to show off how skilled you are. That can be a powerful incentive too. My point here is that it doesn't matter how many other people receive exotics or reach max level. What matters is whether the game provides you with enough incentives to keep playing. For OP, the answer is obviously "no".

I agree with this post, but keep in mind that's what the community asked for.

Yeah this game sucks

8 RespuestasEditado por Philimanjaro105: 1/19/2018 1:14:37 AMYou should take comfort in knowing that the mouthbreathers that wanted this game turned into a boring equality-fest are the same kids challenging each other to eat Tide pods. The problem kind of solves itself.

agreed I have not yet finished the COO story missions but am 310 light with a 320 lens as drop thanks to 2 raid lair runs. 1. How can I even enter the lair having not finished the story. 2. How can I even enter the lair at such a low light and without doing anything else related to COO. To be fair Raid Lair is the only good thing about Destiny 2 and it is nice to run with friends still even if I have nothing to do with the rest of the game.

Not only is it way too easy to get everything, there's very little to nothing that feels special and amazing when you get it. The magic is all gone.
-
there's no need to play the game. it feels like one of those free to play mmos thst gives you free stuff by logging in. gone are the days for bragging rights.

1 RespuestaI don't think the participation trophy is a good comparison. Destiny 2 is mediocrity perfected. It's a functional game, and that's it. It's AAA developers playing it safe. It makes plain oatmeal and exciting experience in comparison. No excitement, no fun, just functional gameplay and a MASSIVE store to buy trinkets from.

1 RespuestaNo child will be left behind. Let's all play a baseball game, where we don't keep score and everyone including the children who sat on the bench get a first place trophy.. I'm surprised people don't complain when Lord Shaxx tells you that you losing.. And they keep score in multiplayer..

3 RespuestasEditado por Lyrro: 1/19/2018 12:12:16 AMRan a heroic quest with a buddy the other day, one of the CoO missions where you had to chase down the cabal and kill him before he could escape. We failed, I was out of heavy and my super ended up getting wasted on one of the shield placements that literally spawned right on me as I was using my super. I ran out of primary ammo, and it all went downhill from there. So, we failed, the bad guys got away, and the world fell into chaos and ruin... right? Nope... We had to kill a wave of minions and, even though the cabal got away with the objective and thus left us with no way to find and defeat the boss at the end of the CoO dlc, thus leaving the time stream in ruin and the galaxy fated to lose all light,we got an end of mission chest and a "mission success" screen. Sure, we failed our mission to retrieve the objective and thus could not stop...fk.... what's his name? from destroying literally all life, but what the heck. Bungie didn't want me to feel bad for failing to prevent galactic genocide so here's a loot chest and a "congratulations for failing" screen. >. > Edit: I guess in hindsight, it worked. I don't feel bad at all about the fact that I allowed the one chance I had at saving the galaxy from mass genocide slip away and thus, all light and life ceased. Then again, that's probably mainly because I didn't get sucked into the CoO storyline at all. '>.<
