So from my understanding this is supposed to be a looter shooter.
Well to be honest I don't even care about turning in legendary engrams anymore. It's one of the same 4-5 types of armor sets and even 2-3 of those are reskins of each other.
Honestly for a game like this a legendary engram should drop at least 10-12 completely different armor sets for each class with a big variety in shape and size. If not more.
Don't even get me started on the consumable shaders. Or the fact that even most the faction armor is also reskins, further reducing the gear variety.
If it's too much to have that many armor sets for three different classes then honestly you shouldn't even have split the armor into three different classes. Just have one playable avatar that can unlock abilities in either warlock, Titan, or Hunter class trees, and have all armor in the game fit every player.
Honestly, I'm on week 3 of owning this game and short of an occasional romp in the crucible I don't really have a reason to keep playing. Legendary engrams don't get me excited at all, I've gotten duplicate exotics over and over again, and I am already satisfied with how my character looks.
Here's a constructive idea for some variety. Take all the common, uncommon, and rare gear models, and make legendary versions of them. Honestly I'd love to be able to level up some hardcase gauntlets to 335 because they look pretty good.
I don't know, I'm just amazed at how shallow the loot depth is.

It been a while since I've gotten a rare

They drop like candy now. Back then, when I got a legendary, I would jump a little and pray something good would drop. Now, I get a legendary and have no expression what so ever.

11 RespuestasD1: I cant get anything to drop playing this game! Screw Bungie for artifically extending the game!(Remember the 4 hours in Diablo vs 4 hours in Destiny image that was circling around?) D2: It's too easy to get loot Bungie! Make the game take more time!
-
Meant nothing in D1 either.

15 RespuestasI dont understand the complaint here. There is a lot of loot in the game, but it is not infinite, it is finite. Meaning if you play a lot, eventually you get to the point you have almost everything. The same happened in d1 and happens in every other shooter. At this point, yall just complaining to complain lol.
-
Part of the appeal to D1 is that you constantly keep replacing your current gear with better more potent versions. If we can't craft weapons then that's how it should be again.
-
Haven't meant a blam! from as far back to Destiny 1s HoW when they started dropping like candy. Highly doubt it'll mean anything now and going forward. The only time I got happy was when I got the Exotic Vision of Confluence. Even more happy than the time when I finally got Gjallarhorn in Year 1 to drop and that was a meh moment at best.

Yes. I really think they need to focus on the mod system (add enough depth to it, where it's not about just collecting weapon skins, but adjusting the weapon archetype itself allowing in depth customization), classless system (the super would define what npcs call you). So focus on the story while adding new skins, new mods, new abilities.

The blue should not be dropping at the same level or higher than a legendary. I should not get a blue 330 to whereas a legendary is 325. That makes no sense.
-
They are definitely useful. You decrypt rare engrams for mats to turn into the gunsmith to get legendaries! Then you dismantle every single one to get shards to spend on ToC that don’t work! What’s not to love? Am I missing something here?
-
Getting exotic engrams doesn't mean a lot either. I had 3 sitting in my vault for a month before I bothered to see dipstick, I mean Rahool.

I really wish some of these companies got together and worked on a game. Tom Clancy's "The Division" was advertised as a shooter/RPG. The story line was amazing and it had such great potential to be the first AAA role playing game with guns/shooter. After the game was released they backed out of the RPG element and denied every saying it was going to be an RPG (though there was articles and youtube videos of them saying it years before it was released.) and they turned it into the same system D2 has with a main focus on PVP instead of story and immersion. They dumbed down the graphics dramatically and everything else, it was a huge disappointment and the last Ubisoft game I will ever own. Huge bait and switch there. I played the story line through to the end and played a few strikes but then left and haven't been back since, probably 2 years by now. Anyways, my point being if Bungie and Ubisoft got together to actually make a Role playing shooter game with story and a loot/crafting system it would probably be a game that may end up switching people from World of Warcraft. Like how WoW was for Everquest.

Exotics mean nothing to me either. The meta has been the same since what, day one? Mida, Uriels, and heavies don't really matter.

1 RespuestaThe entire idea of the game being a looter shooter will always be denied even when every single gear (as in a cog and not items) in the game turns in tune and is heavily dependent on the loot system. Anyway… Legendary engrams… shards without a second thought, it’s not like that gun that was trash before got any different perks to save it this time. Exotics…well with the exception of a very few, and one of them was a mistake, they feel mediocre at best, just a Legendary but yellow that take longer to dismantle. Yap, need a bit more variety, too much darn model recycling...bungie was always very ambient friendly ^_^

This sounds like one of those post that can only he fixed if you worked at bungie yourself

Borderlands is a looter shooter, they advertised it as such. You know the whole bazillion guns or whatever meaningless number it was. Not only that but it also gameplay wise is more RPG than action shooter. As for the topic I always thought they were useless, D1 all the way to now. Exotics are the only thing really worth worrying about. Which even then aren't necessary for anything really. Part of that is fine it's an action shooter first, challenging a players effectiveness should be answered with player skill. That said it should also be challenging players to play the RPG part of the game. Particularly the part where you maximize the synergy of all of your gear and subclasses. It's not doing that at all, though. Ignoring the lack of customization, what we have there now isn't ever challenged by the activities. People like to throw around the term 'casual' when someone says anything that's not blatantly in support of adding overly complex RPG features. When in reality the game would still be very casual for the lack of activities actually challenging players in that way. Trust me running numbers and grinding isn't hardcore at all.

1 RespuestaIt meant something back in D1 Y1. Maybe because it was something new that you didn't have or maybe a cool random roll. It was less later, but at least when you got something like an engram, 90% of the time it would help your light level. Since progression is capped now except for milestones, and random rolls are gone, what's the point.
-
1 RespuestaHell exotics are useless and I didn't even play much lol
-
Been sitting on all exotics second week into osiris dlc. Only thing in chasing is emotes/emblems. That's literally all i have left to play for lol. 51/60 emotes. 85/122 emblems (97 is max i can get due to not playing D1 enough)
-
There's no loot to play for, no loot to chase. Destiny 2 isn't a loot and shoot it's a shoot for materials game
-
2 RespuestasIt's pointless once you have all the weapons amd armor because there are no random rolls. Once you have a better devils, there's no need to grind further unlike D1 where you looked for the top tier roll on weapons and armor. I guess you can keep dismantling them to save up enough legendary shards. We need those for when they raise the level cap again. State of the game is sad right now and force dripping rewards is not helping thia game any.
-
It's all the same static garbage. Just like the rest of D2- why bother?

1 RespuestaExotic engrams don’t mean much either.

1 RespuestaEverything is boring in this game.

Meant -blam!- all for a long time now
