A little background:
Foul balls [and sometimes even loose bats] often end up in the stands at baseball games. Normally anyone involved is fine, but occasionally there are injuries.
One such incident happened last year at a Yankees game where a young girl took a 100+ mph foul ball to the face: http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-yankees-fan-foul-ball-20170921-story.html
Obviously this isn't a normal occurrence, but many stadiums have committed to extending their protective netting further down the baseline to protect fans from danger.

For those of you who don't know - there already exists some protective netting behind home plate at each stadium, extending toward the dugouts.
What do you think - good idea, bad idea?
EDIT: there seems to be a misunderstanding. The protective netting doesn't cover all the seats. It's similar to the glass at hockey rinks, where it goes up 10-15 feet to protect fans from fast, low flying pucks.
