Stormcaller is horrible!

I know there are many stormcaller users but Bungie please change it back to Destiny stormcaller. Its literally a disadvantage. I play dawnblade in pvp and pve some but started off as a voidlock now after I've had my fun seeing the possibilities with dawnblade Im building for my stormcaller...and its impossible and not fun at ALL! REMINDER: Like I said I know many use it but its worse than dawnblade. Dawnblade and voidwalker offer a buff...stormcaller offers "extended range" lies! The range is exactly the same and even more nonexistent with Ophidan Aspect. The only way it would be great is with Destiny extended range because its that bad.

  • People are missing the point completely, the super is BROKEN in Crucible, EVERY. OTHER. SUPER counters it, Titan hammer? Kills you, goldun gun? Kills you, Tether? Stops you, Fist of Havoc? Kills you, Sentinal Shield? Kills you, Arcstrider? Kills you. It lacks range, and damage. I can pop it, float/blink around the corner, start hitting someone with it, an they can pop their super whilst getting hit by mine and then kill me for damage, it's -blam!-.

  • It’s actually very good. Very, very good. I use the Crown of Tempests exotic helm and the bottom skill tree. Arc melee and grenade cooldown mods for every piece of armor. Get kills with a grenade to get the crown’s perk, Conduction Tines, going. This buff recharged all of your abilities(including your super) very quickly at the maximum stack of 5. Refresh the buff with your charged melee, which also recharges everything but your rift. Use your rift with arc soul to extend Conduction Tines as well. Do this correctly and you’ll have your grenade back before the buff even fades away. Once you’re skilled at managing kills with the abilities and keeping track of your exotic buff, you’ll be constantly using abilities and supers all over the battlefield. Extra advice: use Crimson for added survivability and masterwork weapons for orb drops to get even more supers. Bad? A literal disadvantage? It’s an amazing subclass when used in the right way. I think you just don’t understand it’s potential. Voidwalker with Attunement of Hunger, Nezarec’s Sin, and masterwork Void Weapons is also amazing. Dawnblade is lackluster. It has great potential, but nothing compared to Stormcaller or Voidwalker. And there you have it. Rant over.

    • As a Warlock main, you are terribly misinformed. 99% of the time I run Stormcaller, it's really easy to roflstomp on anything as them.

      • Is stormcaller the emperor palpatine roasting mace windu one? I think that one is good in pve but it was super weak in mayhem rumble - never choose it in mayhem rumble.

      • Stormcaller has, for pve: The best add clearing super in the game, because of its chain lightning and extremely long timer with transcendence. The possibility to spam very powerful grenades with Crown of Tempests and Arc Web. The ability to buff your teammate's damage by giving them all an Arc Soul, and also Stormcaller can have rifts more often when allies are near. It has pulse grenades. Stormcaller has, for pvp: Again, a very long lasting super with transcendence, and the ability to hit multiple people at a time with it. A super that's extremely easy to aim with. You get in range, point, and click. One of the most evasive supers in the game. Spamming ionic blink makes ou incredibly mobile for the duration of the super. A longer range melee which, although [b]you[/b] might not notice it, is definitely very useful for winning melee battles. Arc souls to help you win close range gunfights. I would say the subclass is just fine.

      • As someone who plays almost nothing but warlock I must say, I have no idea what you’re talking about. Stormcaller is the single best add control in the game. It last longer than things like striker or a tether, it grants your entire team and extra 30-33% damage (33% counting arc souls) and you get the best boss killing grenade, the pulse. While I’ll always admit voidwalker to be better (because the devour perk is just so good) stormcaller is undoubtably 2nd best in pve. In pvp you can make any of them work really.

        No other super in the game have killed the same person three times in a single super activation. Stormcaller is the only one that can claim that.

          I agree. Dawnblade is far far better. Dawnblade has got to be the most underappreciated subclass in the game. As for [quote]stormcaller offers "extended range" lies![/quote] The extended range with ophidian aspect is roughly twice the length of a regular melee (tested with screen shots, comparing the ground between different ranges, on the "enemies" out front of leviathan) All stormcaller really offers, is Arc Sol. And a super that will clear trash ads really fast. Dawnblade is way more fun, and way more consistent at killing trash due to solar grenade / airborne kills refresh cooldowns... while being able to do either boss or ad clearing for the super. Nothing more infuriating in PvP than someone backstepping 10m from you while you are a stormcaller. Way more satisfying to get a kill using super in pvp as Dawnblade than stormcaller too.

          • Stormcaller is what i use when my fireteam has trouble with endgame, so i would say it is ok in pve.

            Stormcaller needs a pve damage buff it took 20 year to kill a yellow bar knight in prestige nightfall. Melee needs more range because it damage is only 90 for a charge melee and Nightstalker melee can be throw,ping radar, and has billion status affects. Transcendence only add 5sec so it need more time due to stormtrance required 4hits to kill regular guardian and ionic blink for mobility.

            I agree stormcaller is very bad. Transcendence only add 5sec, it time should be increase since you need ionic blink for mobility and takes 4 hits just to kill regular guardian. their jump is very slow Stormcaller suppose to be amazing in add clearing but (Nightstalker, and Arc strider are better) Stormcaller needs a pve damage buff, it took 20 year to kill a yellow bar knight oh prestige Nightfall.

                I think it’s the best subclass in the game, top tree for pvp is awesome and bottom for pve is great with arc soul.

                • The top skillset is cool, but the lower one outshines it. In PvE you can get your abilities back quickly (especially with the storm crown Exotic) and in PvP the Arc Soul with the Rift is a great ability with a team that communicates and uses it. That said, I will primarily still run Dawnblade for the Dash (and occasionally the Dive). The main point though, is that all subclasses for all classes feel underwhelming compared to what we used to have. And I'm with you in Stormcaller melee range; I really miss being able to zap someone out of the sky. Was that "OP?" Maybe. But so the old OHK shoulder charge Titan's lost and so was the amount of dodges Nightstalkers used to get. We all miss our feeling of absolute power that has been replaced with the buzz word "Balance"
