It's obvious microtransactions are here to stay. So, I've come up with a fix that I think everyone can benefit from.
Here's my idea for fixing the RNG loot box microtransaction problem.
Eververse should sell everything in it for a certain amount of silver. Whenever you level up, instead of getting a bright engram, you get a silver engram that gives you a specified amount of silver. So, silver will become an earnable, in-game material that can be used to directly purchase specific items from Eververse.
You basically can save up your silver and purchase exactly what you want from the store instead of being forced to deal with RNG and loot boxes. You actually have to work to earn stuff in the game, instead of suffering through RNG.
Obviousely, the amount of silver you earn and the prices of items should be adjusted so it is fair.
By "fair" I mean an item you want in the Eververse should take about 2-4 hours of grind depending on the item. Exotic items should be more expensive, while shaders and other less desired items should be cheaper.
Ideally, Bungie should make it so that in order to get every single cosmetic in Eververse before the next major content update, players should be able to earn everything by playing for at least 2 hours each day. The average time between major content updates is about 12 weeks (84 days), so that means it will take about 168 hours of grinding to get every single item in Eververse over a 12 week period.
This will give collectors a reason to play, and give players a more fair way of earning gear that they actually want instead of gear they don't want that they dismantle for bright dust.
Tell me what you think? Would you be happier with this system of being able to directly purchase gear and do away with RNG for Eververse? Do you have any better ideas? Please, discuss, and hopefully Bungie sees this.

That is LITERALLY how Eververse works already. Anything (with the exception of emotes) earned from bright/illuminated engrams can be broken down for “bright dust” which you can then spend on the weekly rotating stock to be sure you obtain items you really want without leaving it up to RNG.

15 RespuestasBungie would just laugh at you. The way eververse is now is absolutely fine. There is nothing cool to make you want to spend money you will most likely get what you want for free anyway remember in D1 they only gave us 3 engrams a week? now we can earn unlimited “you just want shit for free

1 RespuestaLol seriously bungie should just take a pen and paper, sit with Rockstar and take notes. Rockstar is probably almost as money hungry and greedy as bungie, but at least they deliver quality games and aren’t sneaky slithering snakes, unlike today’s bunghole. They actually take their time, and aren’t afraid to postpone release dates if the game isn’t up to snuff (Anyone that waited for those heists and now Red Dead 2 knows what I’m talking about) Ya they have micro transactions, and the price of some things are high enough to frustrate people, but they also constantly release FREE DLC that provides easier and more fun ways to earn cash. They use at least some of the money they make from micro transactions, and GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY VIA FREE DLC. (If you haven’t tried the new doomsday heist yet it is amazing, and there’s more coming) Like 5 years into it and rockstar is STILL making bank off of gta shark cards, and the funny thing is people don’t mind buying them, because they know what they’re -blam!-in getting. They want that 3mil super car, or they want a bunker or a facility, but they don’t want to grind. they spend $20 and BAM they can get exactly what they want. Bungie makes u spend $20 for a gamble, which isn’t appealing at all, and then they put 80% of their focus into eververse all season instead of addressing the real problems. Like, people are legit walking away from destiny altogether, it’s not a small number of people, but they refuse to adapt and instead they try extra hard to shove eververse down the throats of whoever they haven’t disappointed beyond repair yet. After seeing what rockstar can do with gta, I’m highly disappointed in bungie and what they’ve done, and haven’t done. I’ve been trying to like it, I tried to like curse of garbage, but it truly is a curse of garbage. Waste of time and money. Fix ur game bungie.

1 RespuestaOn a related note, you can delete sparrows, ships, and transmat effects for bright dust.

I think Eververse functions well as it is. No reason for anyone to waste time and resources changing the Space Barbie Cosmetic Accessory System when they could devote time to the loot systems, mod systems or anything else that’s actually relevant to progressions and gameplay and not “who has the prettiest barbie in the tower”.l

no silver bought & have close to 20K in dust.....

11 RespuestasPlease correct me if I'm wrong. But as I was reading through your post, what you want is literally the same as the Bright Dust system. Only that it should be easier to earn it, that you get a (fixed?) amount of it out of each Engram, and that there are more items offered that you can purchase directly, and that they are cheaper on Bright Dust.

Editado por Unbreakable Patches: 12/18/2017 9:41:16 AMThe current system is fine, though...

They would just triple the cost of everything.

Sorry. This ain't happening. Good idea tho.....

Editado por Sturm with no Drang: 12/17/2017 12:35:33 AMYou’ve got my support on the matter. Honestly, I just want a better chance at picking up those ornaments and miscellaneous exotics instead of having to wad through shitty mods and discarding EV shaders that I don’t want for dust. Like, all they’d have to do is decrease the exp required to get the Illuminated Engrams, make all EV items purchasable or slash the dust prices from the stock that Tess rotates each week and I’d be happier than a clam about it.
Fact: Clams do not know any emotion other than hate. There are 387.44 million miles of...
How bout they take out the shaders, the sparrows, the ghosts. the blue mods, all that junk is filler to water down the rng! The more garbage junk in the loot pool = less of a chance you will get what you want!

5 RespuestasEditado por Crunchyblack: 12/16/2017 6:01:07 PMLet me introduce you to an ancient theory where you would buy something and get everything contained within that product you purchased without the need to pay additionally for a chance to access all of it. Imagine a game where you would have a chance to get everything just by playing. All you had to do was pay for the game, and maybe the DLC
-
6 RespuestasIt’s RNG or pay to get what you want. They won’t change it and none of it is game breaking so it’s not that big a problem. Unless you have a gambling habit then you’re gonna be pretty broke chasing that mic drop emote.
-
1 RespuestaIts a good idea but i think everything should be purchasble with bright dust. This way they won't need to change any of their in game currancies and we aleady have heeps of dust. I really want the cosmos shell but because its all RNG I may never get it. The problem from Bungie's point of view is that they will make less profit from this system because basically the current system is gambling and that is addictive.
-
1 RespuestaBe able to buy everything directly with silver Bright engrams not for sale only on rank ups and give you random things from the pool
-
2 RespuestasTime-gated Eververse, here we come...
-
4 RespuestasIf silver was able to be earned it would be hard to sell it. The system used currently is in place to capitalize off the addicted. Dont kid yourself Bungie is not going to make earning free prizes of your choice available . hence rng to keep you from getting that one piece of armor.
-
2 RespuestasHere's how you make eververse tolerable You take it out of the game and make those cosmetics earnable or xurnable.

3 Respuestas"I have a great idea! Instead of making me buy things, give them to me for free! See? Great! I am very clever!" -OP
