I vote no.
That sort of game mode works in some games, but Destiny is not that sort of game.
EDIT: Fine, if it gets you idiots off my ass, I'll change my damn vote to yes. Even though it doesn't make any goddamn sense. Hey, while we're at it, why not add Tetris mode to Destiny? And throw a MOBA mode in there as well. We'll really show those raid bosses what for when we push right lane.

You look like most of your time has been spent in patrol...of course it's super easy to run and gun things, it's patrol. Destiny could easily pull off a survival mode but the one I envision is similar to that of Warframe. Where guardians run around on maps and are required to describe/activate while enemies are constantly attacking you. Warframe also has Defense missions where you defend a object against endless waves of enemies where you're given the option to leave or stay after 5. You earn look during waves and then loot at the end of 5.

There have been numerous Destiny scabs on the in game Warframe chat saying the same thing. I find it interesting and fun and like how it does things that I wish Destiny would. Two of which are the Defense and Survival missions which actually pertain to the subject of this thread. Run along little scab, we're done here.

Yeah, let's not even consider the 300+ hours I've spent in Mass Effect 3 alone, actually thinking and having to adjust my strategy on the fly. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Destiny, it's a smooth shooter, but it's a dumb one. It requires very little thought. I'm sure you're familiar with that feeling.

You can't just add content to make the game smarter. In this case, you have to entirely remake the way the game plays. You can't just do that with a patch or DLC. You need to remake the game from the ground up. Once again, not using your brain.

If it started off with small groups of dregs, then moved up to a mixed group of dregs and vandals, then a larger group of just vandals, then to a mixed group of vandals and captains, then to a larger group of just captains; and then started moving up to adding in yellow bars, then eventually up to mission level bosses, and then strike level bosses, and then even up to multiple mission level bosses mixed with strike level bosses, and so on, etc. etc... I think it'd be pretty fun, especially if there was a mayhem mode also.

Because Destiny isn't a tactical shooter. It's a run'n'gun shooter. Look at games like Mass Effect and Gears of War, those games are DESIGNED with this sort of gameplay in mind, where you have to think about where the enemies are and what your position is. With Destiny, you just run into a room, shoot everything that moves, and jump around whenever you get shot at. You can TRY to put tactics in Destiny, but it's ultimately pointless, because they aren't needed, running around shooting everything is the best and fastest outcome every time. Even the raids are dumb as far as tactics go.

"Stand on the thing to not die" is not a tactic. This is also why this sort of game mode won't work in Destiny. The Destiny players don't even know the difference between a mechanic and a tactic. Halo and Call of Duty are also run'n'gun games and those modes are a far cry from what Mass Effect and Gears of War have.

You need certain tactics to work with the mechanics. Also trials of Osiris you need tactics so your point is flawed.

Except you don't. With raid mechanics, you either do it this way, or you fail. And PvP is entirely the same run'n'gun as PvE, you're not fooling anyone by saying it's not.

Look, kid, I've been playing games for over 20 years. I've played enough games to know the difference between them. I can tell at a glance what sort of game Destiny is. You would do well to listen to what I'm telling, and THINK instead of just sitting there coming up with your next argument.
