The titan gets a wall that lasts for couple seconds and absorbs a crap ton of damage. The warlocks can put down a rift that can heal and help the team do extra damage. Hunters on the other hand have a shade step type ability which you can only use once every 20 seconds or so.
I play hunter the least but don't want them to be useless in raids and in harder activities. Right now if I were to post an lfg post I would probably say titan and warlocks only because I don't really see a point for their ability in pve. Also their supers can be rivaled by other supers and we haven't seen weather night-stalkers are coming back or not so we just have the two supers for now.
This is not a destiny 2 hate post but more of a concern. Hunters were useless in year 1 because they really couldn't support. In year 3 warlocks took their spots and became useless.

I fail to see how Hunters were useless in Year 1. In Year 1's raids... a Hunter could easily golden gun the oracles in Vault of Glass. A Hunter was able to stay invisible during the Crota battle. A Hunter could use invisibility to their advantage on capturing plates against Skolas. Even in nightfalls the Hunter would often come in handy as the only class capable of going unseen and picking up trash from the ground. As a Hunter, I often played the part of a garbage collector.

2 RespuestasAfter Shadestep was release for Hunters in Destiny 1 that's all the forums talked about. "Shadestep should be on all (Hunter) subclasses!" They were just taking advise.
-
One instantly reloads your equipped weapon great for weapons that can do huge DPS but hindered by a slow reload. The other instantly refills your melee energy (it's ok but has a better dodge animation) There's a node that lets GG precision hit so maybe it will help.
-
My hunter was great at supporting a team in year 1. It usually finished activities with the highest kills and lowest deaths.
-
Wouldn't be a Destiny forum without a Hunter crying.

1 RespuestaIm hoping a nighthawl esque helmet appears or golden gun does a lot of damage against bosses
-
Really depends on the mechanics/encounters in the raid. Hunters were great for gorgons, abyss, and swording crota. In D2, golden gun can do precision damage, which could out damage the other supers we've seen.

4 RespuestasEditado por GalaxySpider: 7/11/2017 4:29:04 PMArcstrider is heavily focused on the Dodge meachnic, and right now the only class in D2 with the ability to nullify the cooldown of its class ability. It's a combo class. Melee, dodge, melee, dodge which lead to a fine damage potential. Even in PvE. Also, the Gunslingers CoW is now has an effect on the whole team, not just yourself. So no, Hunters won't be useless at all in PvE. In PvP the Titan shield can't really block a lot of damage. It can be destroyed fairly fast. Not sure about PvE though. The warlocks healing aura seems pointless somehow. Leaving the aura removes the overshield instantly and the aura itself can't "outheal" enemy damage. I guess it's only useful when placed behind corners.

I really hope Arcstrider is incredible at killing adds. Hunters won't offer as much to the team as a Titan will with Rally Barricade or a Warlock with either Rift otherwise.
-
i dont want to play overwatch in D2...thats all
-
Just wait my friend, you'll say the opposite in two months
-
Doesn't matter what class you are if you suck at the game. I main a hunter now used to be titan. I do just as good with my lil squishy hunter as i did with my tank ass titan. Also i see tons of people from lfg that suck woth every character and every super. Then i find people that are good with all 3 chars and any super. Its all about the person not so much the character/perks.

They will have the same roll in PvE as they do now...orb makers
-
Well, we still don't know if the other 3 subclasses are still there. Bungie has kept pretty quiet on everything. They still might have tether.

4 RespuestasHunters are always useful in a team and fun to play. The dodge does seem weaker then the other two, but I guess it will add survivability, and with the instant reload allows to put out extra dps. Just think of a start Crota type encounter or anything that's moving. Hunters would out shine others classes. Think of boss fights with small window of dps, shoot 2 rockets dodge instant reloaded rockets, shoot another 2 rockets. that extra dps could be the difference of getting the kill or not. Some ideas off the top of my head that makes them viable in PvE. Ps gunslinger hunter for life 😂

7 RespuestasOh ya, hunters were completely useless in year one...... Oh thats right, people were always wanting a hunter in crota's end to run the sword. Easily soloing the abyss. Oh well so much for that theory.

5 RespuestasHu... Tether is not gone, right?. There you go, still need them.

9 RespuestasEditado por HollowedWayfarer: 7/11/2017 7:08:51 AMStop being dramatic. Hunters aren't useless. Every class and subclass has its strength and weaknesses. While I agree about the class ability, I highly disagree with your statement of calling Hunters useless. Invade you haven't noticed, all of the supers are rivaling the others now.
-
I had this concern as well but I am getting less worried about it. First off, the gunslingers second skill package makes it so that GG can do precision shots. This will be invaluable for boss dps. For arcstrider, I have a feeling it will be the new stormcaller for add clearing. The only worry I have left is the class ability. I think they just need to add a damage buff against enemies in pve for the marksman's dodge and it will be ok. The arcstrider skill packages are also a little worrying, but the second one focuses on moving fast and survivability so I think it will be all good.

5 RespuestasI didn't really think about it before cause I never play my Hunter but without tether Hunters really don't offer much for PvE.
-
Looks like hunters will be the most difficult class in destiny 2
-
agree man, its worrying

3 Respuestasi completely agree! i main hunter and love being accepted into raids for tether but if it's gone i also fear hunters will become useless also golden guns damage has been toned down and arcstriders really not effective unless needed for add clearing
