On A Round Earth It Would Take Way Less Time Traveling From CA to Australia
Everyone assumes that the Earth is round and that flights, especially those crossing the Pacific, would take much longer on a Flat Earth. But do you see the problem here? That belief presupposes that the earth is round. What if flights from California to Australia take 15+ hours [b]because[/b] the earth is Flat? Who is to say that a ball earth would not also be a small earth, one where travel times would be significantly [i]reduced[/i]?
The issue here lies within individual presuppositions: people assume that travel times reflect a round earth. It is just as possible (more so given the weight of observable evidence) that travel times take the time they do, because earth is actually Flat.

What would happen if someone dug straight down through Earth 3. How would gravity work? With a round earth everything is being pulled toward the center. Gravity needs an "origin point" and on a flat earth that would be in the center of the map and nothing would keep people on the ground 4. The sun, how does one half of the planet see the sun when the other doesn't? 5. If it's 100 miles from Australian to California (just as an example) why would that distance change because of the shape of the earth?

I'm beginning to think that most flat earth debaters don't actually believe in what they're preaching. They just want attention and/or money. All these flat earth web sites out there are just profiting off the stupid and crazy, like selling t shirts and taking donation money and shit. They are no different than those con artists that prey on the elderly at nursing homes.

10 RespuestasA few things here. A spherical shape does not denote a smaller surface area. If the distance from point A to point B is 100miles whether the distance is on a flat plane or a curved plane the distance is still 100miles. Therefore if you travel at 100mph then it will still take 1 hour to make the trip regardless of shape. You also fail to address the fact that there is clearly a horizon line. Ships disappear of the horizon and we have developed ship to ship missiles intended to fire over the curvature of the earth. In addition to that when firing a rifle at a target over a mile away you have to take into account the curvature of the earth in your shot. There is no way for the earth to be flat. Science doesn't support your claims.

So are you trying to tell me that flying from California to Australia over the Atlantic is a better method than the Pacific Ocean because it's a shorter distance according to your make-believe fantasies? Because if this -blam!-ing flat-earth joke isn't old enough...

Most airplanes dont travel directly to Australia. This is mainly because traveling over land allows them to be on radar incase an emergency happens or they are lost. Also something about jetstreams and rotation.

You are immediately presupposing that the Earth would be larger and travel times would increase if the Earth was flat. However, land masses might be closer together than previously presumed on your flat Earth model, which you would say has the same travel times as now, due to your theory. However, you cannot account for these times without having proved a theory, and instead of trying to disprove your model, you try only to prove it. The problem is that you do not look for any discrepancies in your own model, while pointing out anything of the round earth [b]fact[/b] which contradict your own.

A flat earth travel to Australia from California, would be a rather direct flight, across the flat earth, over North America, The Atlantic ocean, Africa, and the Indian ocean before reaching Australia. However, we know that flights from California to Australia fly over the Pacific ocean instead. What reason would we have to fly to the edge of the earth, and fly around it's circumference to reach our destination? On a round earth, it makes sense why we only fly over the pacific ocean, because the distance is shorter that way. On a flat earth model, it simply does not make sense. The distance would be longer over ocean, however we know that is what we do. And of course then there's the fact that surface area does not change when an object is bent or curved. 50 miles on a flat surface is still 50 miles if that surface had been curved. There's no reason that traveling across a state, say Texas, would take longer or shorter on a round earth, because the distance remains the same despite the surface shape of the earth.
