Seriously what is wrong with people

How are people hating on this already 'one is not impressed, I'm very disappointed' what the fudge would impress you? Seriously? It looks the same - No shit Sherlock every game sequel looks the same that's why people play, because they liked the first game. So many special snowflakes I had to look outside to see if it was snowing.

  • That piece of shit engine they complained held them back, it's the same one, no wonder it can't do half of the stuff we want.

You obviously aren't a very informed consumer. Some of us are just smart and can see the screen being pulled over our eyes by these companies. The game companies count on people like you, though. You can thank yourself for the lack of content and improvements a game like this should have, especially this late in its existence. It's literally become an acceptable practice to release unfinished garbage video games and expect people to buy them. (Not saying Destiny is garbage, but it could be better) Maybe add a few DLC's along the way and a couple patches. Look at Ubisoft, they don't even follow through on season pass content anymore. We're a bunch of sheep, and they know it.

      • Not disappointed, just not hyped either. I am sorry, but even with all the awesome things they announced I still just hear an echo of Bungie during the reveal of Destiny 1 saying how all the terrain was playable and how we could "climb those mountains" off in the distance.

Why do I need to be impressed by something that is basically the same as what I have played for 3 years now? Let's examine what was shown: - reworked existing subclasses....one of which seems already destined to be nerfed - subclass mechanics reduce customization options - reduction of choices in PvP - the strike seemed lackluster - PvP seems slow even when you disregard the mode being slow itself. - no fps improvement. - no dedicated servers...with the most dismissive argument I have ever heard. Etc. Etc. There is not one improvement so far that is not something that is a rework or a QOL improvement that should have been either in the base game or introduced in DLC. I have not seen something very innovative for a 2017 game. We haven't seen the world map and the events or those dungeons. I am sure they look beautiful. Maybe I will be impressed she we get to see that. But other than that...yeah...not really something to be extremely impressed about at all. Mostly rework and existing game mechanics already available in other games for years now.

        • Sequel is meant to be same +more. If it were more of the same, which it is, it should be another expansion. All this is is a clean slate to wipe away the previous three years of trash.

          • A lot of people are still buthurt about the lauch of Destiny 1, so they unconsciously look for any little nitpick that they can latch on to. They don't want to believe that Bungie can redeem themselves.

            • Says a person who's thought process is "if you don't agree with me, you're wrong". You shouldn't be calling anyone a snowflake. People are allowed to think and say what they want. Most people who have negative thoughts on the reveal are the ones who remember Destiny 's first reveal 4 years ago, they've learned to not get their hopes up.

            • As a fan of Destiny, yeah it was awesome and I'm hyped But as a gamer from the outside looking in? It wasn't that impressive. You have to take everything said on this forum (and on IGNs review when it comes out) with a grain of salt. Because we're already fans of the game having stuck with it for 3 years

              • Datto summed it up quite nicely in a couple of words. It's not a completely new game. It's polished, improved Destiny. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

It looks the same - No shit Sherlock every game sequel looks the same that's why people play, because they liked the first game. So many special snowflakes I had to look outside to see if it was snowing.
Heh heh heh. Look at the snowflake needing a safe space because he doesn't know how to process that people might have a differing opinion than his own. I'd rather be critical, avoid the "hype train", and get an "uncolored" view of the game for what it really is; rather than board the hype train, build up D2 to absolutely unattainable levels of expectation that no developer on the planet could ever hope to achieve, then be let down when the game cannot live up to the nigh-Godlike hype that Bungie sycophants are currently doing. In that regard, I was highly unimpressed with what was shown. An hour long "Game Play Premier" presentation consisting of a total of ten minutes of Game Play. - What game play was shown looked exactly like the current Destiny. Nothing alludes to expanding the Player tool-set. Nothing was shown that improves upon the game play of D1, just more of the same-old-same-old. - The map has more icons, but looks no larger than any of the current areas of exploration in D1. - Sure there's "Quests" to unlock new areas, but how long before you're retreading even those areas, but in a different direction? - Patrol looks like it will be more of the same boring "kill this' or "fetch Quests" that are so yawn-inducing in D1. - No improvement in the paltry, bare-bones character progression system from D1. You will almost literally be capped just as low as and just as quickly as you were in D1. - D1 = 4 planets. - D2 = 4 Planets with one of those you're already exploring. So, less content there. - 1 Raid - D1 had three Strikes at launch. - D2 has 'A' Strike (straight how the Bungie Rep said it) and if my math serves me correctly, that's less than D1 had at launch. - D1 had six sub-Classes at launch. Nine when D1 finished (after three years...) - D2 has three sub-Classes (because Bungie even said in the presentation, "when you lose your Light, you lose your Powers, Progress, sub-Classes, everything; and you have to earn it back" leaving you at only the three sub-Classes shown), which is paltry in a game that's supposed to be "more expansive" than the original. You know, kinda the whole point of a "sequel". - Bungie found a way (and this is pretty damn impressive for all the wrong reasons) to not only take away absolutely everything you did in D1 (via utilizing the cheapest, most played-out story cop-out in storytelling history), but give you less than you had in the beginning of D1. Truly an impressive and new way to screw over your fan base, Bungie. - And... there's a whole host of other issues I saw; but I'm just old and tired, and really don't have the rage left to go into it in depth. So, yeah. I'm highly unimpressed with what was shown, and when the game and "reveal" are looked at without having "hype-tinted-goggles" on, there is nothing (absolutely nothing) that tells me that this should be a standalone game. Literally everything Bungie has shown/said, leads me to believe that D2 should only have ever been a $40 USD digital Expansion for D1. And that's just the opinion of a guy who's been gaming for 30+ years, and has been deeply involved in the MMORPG Genre for 20+ years. (Despite what Bungie says and how much they want to stay away from the accronym, they've created an MMOFPS. And even MMO publications and other Genre professionals agree thaqt this is exactly what Bungie has done.) It's an MMOFPS, get over it. And it's a shitty one at that.

                      • What is wrong is that the graphics were the same a destiny 1 The supers were mainly just the same, hammers of sol on warlock and arc blade was a staff! 30 fos is rubbish as it should be 60 fps No dedicated servers otherwise they would have shouted about it A totally lame attempt at reducing lag by making all game types 4x4 which is totally pathetic as trials is a lag fest The list goes on, they have spent over 2 years on an update that's it

Which creates a really arrogant person with low social skills who only have one area of expertise...video games. So they crow like little banty roosters as if normal people care what they think. You'll be able to pick them out. They'll be offended by this post, and yours.

                            • That's right. It's a
sequel
not a different game. I don't get people's expectations. Every sequel I've played has always been the same as the first, with you know, a few new features, similar story, similar setting and they maybe change the play style a tiny bit. But it's the same game, generally as the first and people play it and don't complain. Alot of the people are just sheep and jump on the hate bandwagon with other haters and don't have their own opinion. They can't win anyway because if they changed it up people would cry because they changed it. So what can you do? Haha

                            • People understand that it's a sequel. What you don't seem to understand is that sequels generally come with fundamental improvements upon the previous game, and those don't seem to be present in D2. That's why people are disappointed. It's moreso little improvements such as a simple in game lfg and new activities in patrols. Nothing that substantially pushes the franchise forward. Sure, it's headed in the right direction, but it's headed there at a snail's pace.
