So a friend of mine has reached Rank 7 in her Age of Triumph book. Unlocked the reward of receiving the shirt just for it to be, truthfully,
a discount code on the Bungie store FOR THE T-SHIRT. The price of the without code is $777,777.77. The code that you receive for reaching rank 7 reduces the price to $24.99. Now take just a few moments to realize... Instead of being gifted for performing and completing enough challenges to reach rank 7 in the book attached to the FINAL BIG UPDATE for Destiny with a free T-Shirt. And have the T-Shirt be customizable (which THEN requires money.)
They throw this acquirable Destiny T-Shirt as a reward at rank 7 when, in the end you have to spend money for all the work you've done. A big slap in the face to all the people who have devoted the time and effort. No thanks to all the people who played the game loyally and stayed devoted for three years. And no thanks to the recent people who got the game and grinded endless hours to reach rank 7.
-
A shirt showing everyone that you completed moments of triumph and the money goes to charity...wow are you serious?
-
Perhaps you need to be slapped in the face. Seriously. You buy a video game to play it and enjoy it. And it was common knowledge that rank 7 was a code for a t-shirt. Don't like that? Don't grind then. I buy games to play them and don't worry about stupid rewards for how much time I spent playing.
-
3 RespuestasFree update and a free shirt? Seems reasonable
-
How are people still surprised by the T Shirt actually costing them money? Stupid is as stupid does I guess. Also, if she was hardcore enough to get Year 2 MoT then she'd already have realised it's not free. Hardly dedicated if you ask me.

2 RespuestasSolution: Don't buy the shirt.
-
How is that a spoiler everyone who watched the stream or read that knew about the shirt they did the same thing for the second age of triumph. And hitting rank 7 only requires like half of the book so even if you never played destiny till now you could do the class pages, the story, crucible, and wander pages, and a couple of other spots not completed here and there (ToO and Collector) and you would probably hit rank 7
-
1 RespuestaIn all honesty, hitting rank 7 isn't even a chore if you play regularly. With all of the retroactive nodes that pop I'm sure some people were practically at 7 the day the book dropped.
-
4 RespuestasFrankly I believe the Age of Triumph armor sets should have been the rewards. Emblems and Tshirts are useless.
-
47 RespuestasIt's $25 for a T Shirt dude.. Don't be such a cheap skate. Get a Job man.
Besides the T Shirt is only for REALDestiny fans, people who care about the time they've put into this game. Little casuals like you will never understand.
-
It shouldn't be a surprise though... They told us that was the reward ages ago... It was announced on the live stream. I agree it's not something I'm going to grind for... But it's not like they led us to believe it's anything else
-
Its really easy to hit rank 7 i did it in 2 days
-
Because it's financially viable for a company to manufacture hundreds of thousands of t-shirts for free... Listen, I agree that there should be a little more to the rank 7 award (exotic ship and sparrow please), but if bungie wants to give out shirts, they still have to pay to have them made.
-
It's not even hard to get rank 7, if you had to actually finish the book and it then costs money you can be mad
-
Where is Butthurt? OP just summoned him.
-
2 RespuestasDuh. You can go to a t-shirt shop in any city and pay 24.99 for the exact same design on a nicer shirt... This book exists to pad "daily hours played" statistics in this games final content release. If it wasn't, they wouldn't make you regrind melee, kills, grenades, supers, etc...
-
I'm not saying bungie aren't greedy and incompetent (mainly the sandbox team/Josh Hamrick/and the guy that nerfed throwing knives), but the money is for charity apparently. just pretend the book finishes at rank 6 if you have to. Rank7 is only there because they chose to put it there...with the shirt attached..
-
Some see it as a slap and some see it as something I'm going to buy and let everybody know that I enjoyed my 3 years of playing a game. If you Don't like it, don't buy it.
-
Why'd you bother doing it then, technically the entire book is a waste of time since Destiny 2 is coming out
-
2 RespuestasEditado por Jaymz: 4/10/2017 8:21:14 PMYou don't have to buy it you know? It's not like it was that hard to get to rank 7. The shirt is for the true fans, I already bought mine. Sick of self entitled brats like you who play the game. You play a game for entertainment not to get something free at the end -.-
-
3 RespuestasSome of the money towards the t-shirt is supposed to goto charity I heard.
-
In other news, switching to GEICO could save me 15% or more on car insurance.
-
3 RespuestasIt's not like hitting rank seven was hard in the first place.
-
How dare Bungie make a product and expect me to pay for it.
-
7 RespuestasVideo games are a waste of time, unless you are making money when playing
-
This post and every other post like it screams "I'm a self entitled noob!". The shirts raise money for charity. The shirts also commemorate your Destiny accomplishments. Anyone not at rank 7 cannot buy these shirts unless they pay the absurd pre-discount price. Don't want to pay for a shirt? Don't. "Book Complete" is your reward (along with all the emblems you unlocked.
The emblems don't carry over, guns don't carry over, but the shirt is yours forever.
The book in general is a waste of time.. Crucible wins? Ignite the rift? Capture the zones? Nobody got time for that trash.
