As a year one Guardian I think I am very experienced with Vault of glass and Crota's End. So I decided to start up an LFG at 1:00am stating that I would teach new players how to run old raids. I found a team and taught them how to run Vault of glass and Crota's End. I encourage anyone who knows how to run Vault of glass and Crota's to teach newer Guardians how to run these older raids in preparation for Age of Triumph.
Btw: I showed them the proper ways to run them; I didn't teach them any cheese
After all, we want everyone to be triumphant
Edit: added whole story.

1 RespuestaWhat new guardians.....I haven't played in a while and last time I did world spaces were pretty empty, as are these forums. Community is spread real thin with mostly return customers.

Teach them properly, then they can share the message with others. ~TheGreatNike

Nah, the true Destiny experience is getting booted for not knowing what to do despite your fireteam knowing it's your first time, and just watching a YouTube video of someone else soloing it

1 RespuestaSince this update is called Age of Triumph and Remembrance I feel as if I should be able to pull out my ethernet cable on Crota since that's how I remember first doing it.
-
No! We had to learn the raids ourselves in year 1, so these new guardians are going to do the same! Isn't that what the fun is all about, I want to see how many year 2/3 guardians can run into the raid blind and successfully figure it out!

1 RespuestaI congratulate you for having the time and patience to run raids and help noobs do them. I've tried in the past to do that too but usually lose my shit with repetitive mistakes that are made after spending many hours doing a raid.

5 RespuestasMe and my friend are both 400, warlock and a hunter. We specialise in free raid carries for those who are unaccepted by other guardians. We have over 200 raid completions. Doesn't matter what your light level is or whether you even know what a raid is, message my gamertag (Ranjeet675), and sit back to enjoy the ride. At the moment we're helping guardians with the Wrath of the Machine raid, and have given many people the Outbreak Prime quest as well. After this we'll move onto VoG, then Crota, King's Fall and back to this. Don't feel ashamed to message us. Peace out guardians. Would really appreciate if this post could get bumped to spread the news.

63 RespuestasEditado por HOOSTKO: 3/13/2017 3:19:41 AMI strongly oppose this message. Yes, helping people is nice. However, I work 50+ hours a week and when I get a chance to play this game I do not want to spent it teaching someone else whose to lazy to watch a 5min YouTube video. I wouldn't show up to a freaking basketball game and say hey teach me all the rules, I put 0 effort into coming prepared. EDIT: not sure if anyone will see this but to elaborate... I'm referring to the people who come in with absolutely no idea what's going on and expect you to teach them. If you have the time, enjoy helping people, and that's what your posting for then by all means. You can tell by the comments I'm not alone here. I should also mention to everyone calling me "the problem with this community" that I've Sherpa'd groups through every piece of end game content (excluding trials). But, even then I would often ask them to spend a few minutes on YouTube. It's more efficient for both people. Now for the group saying "I like to go in blind..." It's one thing to want to try a new raid blind. If your going in KF blind right now and expecting someone to explain every encounter to you, this just happened to me, you're lazy.

I'm on xb1. If anyone needs help shoot me an invite or message. Except for March 16-28th that's my mass effect time.

Thank god there are people like you still around. I'm a Day 1 player who never had to LFG once in Y1 for VoG or CE. I was fortunate enough to have enough friends that it generally wasn't too difficult to find enough to complete a raid a few times a week. King's Fall absolutely killed the Raiding experience for me since it was the only raid worth doing for an entire year, and because it was so focused on mechanics that losing even one team member in most of the boss fights meant wiping and starting all over which is what caused people to become so picky about who they brought along. It demanded near perfection which is why people on LFG became so shitty about choosing their raiding partners. Even with WotM I've only done it about 10 times, and only completed the hard raid once since the rewards just aren't worth the toxicity of most of the community or the time it takes to find a decent group of people to play with. What all of the elitist tryhards saying "Google it." don't understand is that it's easier to learn the mechanics first hand as opposed to watching it in a video. That's not to say that new players shouldn't do their homework, but yelling at and berating inexperienced players isn't going to do anything but make you look like an ass and prolong the whole thing as most players perform better when they're not being put under pressure from the group.

5 RespuestasEditado por chickengoujohn93: 3/13/2017 8:20:20 PMGone are the days of regular Raid Sherpas and carrying the occasional noob or two through a Raid. Kings Fall brought an end to that... Not even Ramsay Snow's "20 Good Men" could get a bunch of inexperienced Raiders through Kings Fall in sufficient time. I love Kings Fall, I personally think it is the pinnacle of Raiding in this game, but it did have a damaging affect on the community, a disdain that has created an elitism so toxic that everyone was an "expert" at Wrath of the Machine within five hours after it launched. The return of Vault of Glass and Crota's End will not alleviate this. The "no noob policy" will now carry over to both of which are very straight forward and serviceable Raids that have been made even easier with the addition of Tethers, Stormcallers, Swords, Sleeper Simulant as well as many other things since.
