400...finally
Well it actually happened, I finally hit 400 on my main character (Warlock). Been playing since Beta and this has the same feeling as when I finally hit 32 during a Crota raid during the Dark Below. 400 was a grind though, I typically only get a few hours a week to play, and the "friends" I used to do Vault and Crota with have all moved on to something else. Will chip away at my Titan (396) and Hunter (393) now, but need a little time to relish in this small personal victory.
The guys I used to raid with have all departed so I missed out on Kings Fall and Wrath of the Machine. I almost feel better about 400 knowing I did it without raiding. Iron Banner probably deserves the most credit for leveling up, 380 to 400 was a slow go though.
The ironic thing is that I have bitched and moaned about "boots" from the beginning. It seems like for every Faction Package, Vanguard Package, etc. my reward would be...boots. Primarily running a Warlock it seriously became a joke with the boots, mother freaking effing boots! So what happens....the very last item I need to get to 400 was freaking boots. I have been grinding strikes, nightfalls, and crucible for the last week praying for effing boots, the same boots I cursed for the last 3 years. Today, on my last crucible run of the day, I popped a 3 of coins & boom the exotic boots landed. So then begins the sweating; are they going to be actual Warlock boots, are they going to drop at 399, etc. Went to that blue bastard in the Tower; decrypted a blue set of boots (junk delete), a legendary chest piece (junk delete), then drum roll by my son on the leather couch...Radiant Dance Machines and they dropped at 400. Fist pumps, high fives, wife closing the door because she is watching the Oscars, daughter closing the door because she doesn't care, a special father/son moment...then said son says "congrats dad, so are you finally going to play something different".
I gotta say it was a good day!

2 RespuestasYou have 28hrs, I wouldn't say you're too "committed" to Destiny with that amount of time played. Hitting LL 400 can be achieved by going AFK in Iron Banner these days.

Congrats man don't let these other guys rain on your parade. Plus look at the bright side now you can do it on your other characters way easier by infusing with gear you get from your main.

i got 400 on my hunter and warlock in two months i got destiny at christmas. my titan is 396 i think didnt do the WoTM raid once on my warlock or hunter before they where 400 I did kings fall when I was 390 but that only drops 335 stuff

I finally got the damn Sunglow shader! After 10 weeks since the release of the Dawning event I finally got this Shader and that one sparrow without spending real money!

1 RespuestaI still don't understand celebrating max light without raiding. I'm not trying to rain on your parade here. I got to 400 with banner and forge myself. That was just so that I could raid without worrying about not being able to maximize damage AND be new to the raid at the same time. The raid was actually fun. I could understand the excitement pre rise of iron, but now it's pretty simple to attain. Congrats still.

Getting your other two to 400 will be super easy now that you have one. I delete 400 weapons and armor all the time because it drops so much once you hit max.

For me it was gauntlets, special, boots and heavy that held me back. Took awhile to hit 400 on my Titan. Stupid RNG WOULD NOT give me a 400 heavy for the longest time. Kept giving me chest pieces. -blam!- you RNG.
