Bungie, I know you always listen to the community about certain weapons that players use, that people complain about. But, this constant nerfing when people complain has to stop.
Shotguns aren't as over powered as people say. There are still plenty of good counters to them. Namely Sidearms, and Fusions. I would argue that sidearms need a slight Range Boost if anything.
But, this constant nerfing of guns has to stop at some point. Every time you try to "balance" a gun because it's too overpowered, the gun becomes non competitive, except to maybe the top 1% of players. Granted, some times it's warranted like the Doctrine of Passing. But, usually you always over do the nerf.
So please, please, don't make Shotguns irrelevant by nerfing them.

I hardly EVER see a Party Crasher / Conspiracy Theory kill me anymore, let alone any other shotgun. Sometimes Last Ditch-001, but that's rare too. I've never been killed more by a secondary weapon in this game than I have that atrocious cancer boomstick, and this is coming from somebody who has both a Year-1 Matador that can be re-rolled, and a Felwinter's Lie, though those both collect dust in my vault.

April Patch: Tweaked sunsingers Viking funeral and changed the entire perk because it was creating [b]frustrating[/b] encounters in the crucible. On shotguns: we won't nerf them because that's not what we want to do. We want to have positive changes... See where this is going?

I miss being able to shred a whole team with 1 clip from the doctrine. It was like the suros days all over again, just faster. Lol

Remove full auto from high impact. Make high impact fire less pellets and low impact more with damage adjusted per to compensate for the change. Spread adjusted as needed. High impact requires more accuracy then and low impact hits more consistently. Full auto on matador makes low impact obsolete. Matador and party crasher should also have their other stats brought down to the level of conspiracy theory. They should be just as clunky to use

1 RespuestaI don't feel shotguns are the problem either. I feel that primaries being so damn weak is what makes shotguns seem insane. If primary weapons were better it would be way harder to close the gap with shotguns.

2 RespuestasI cant believe im saying this but i have to agree. In fact, id say that a few shotguns -like invectice and the chaperone- need a buff. The matador needs to be dialed down though. Like seriously its dumb. I remember before ROI how everyone feared and despised the range of conspiracy theory. And now we have the Matador 64, which has MORE range AND a higher rate of fire. Like holy tits dude. AND holds an insane amount of ammo. With only 1 armor piece mine holds 20 FREAKING SHELLS. But other than that they need to be left alone. Nerfing is NOT the solution to balance the game

2 RespuestasI don't think shotguns generally need a nerf but the Matador/Party crasher types most certainly do. No shotguns should ever have more range than a sidearm - that's just ludicrous. They are supposed to be close range guns but in effect function in the lower-mid ranges. Rifled barrel isn't even an optional perk on sidearms, why is it on shotguns? It's not a shotgun problem, it's a Matador/PC problem.

Shotguns are the only functioning weapon in Destiny, AR's take 2-3 seconds to kill and hand-cannons don't one shot to the head. I'd say that every other weapon type needs buffing to bring the TTK down to an acceptable time. I've tested this before (with Battlefield, Battlefront, Titanfall, and COD) and in each game (except Destiny) I could kill an enemy combatant within one second even if I missed several shots. The reason shotguns are "broken" is because of the maps, and because nothing else can do what it's own job.

Well the general issue as of now is that Auto Rifles, exotics and sidearms need some loving. I propose we increase damage on all auto rifles by maybe 4 percent, make high caliber rounds do something on other weapons apart from pulse rifles, reduce the spread on shotguns (Low fire rate only) and increase the range, stability and damage on Sidearms like ZEAL VECTOR and higher damage weapons like Dregs Promise. As for snipers, nothing that I see needs work. For exotics, I honestly think most of them got turned into like.. Commons. My favorite one "Hard Light" is just straight up awful. Most auto rifles like that one don't do well because of the meta, or because of how weak they just generally are.

Dude chill, bungie have stated that they wanna balance shotguns through other means, and during this time cozmo was asking for some community ideas for some primary buffs. So it's safe to say bungie's first line of action is to try and buff primaries first, then if that doesn't work a shot gun nerf would happen. I personally want a primary buff cause my favorite weapon type, auto rifles, have been really bad for way to long. I have said this before and I will say it again. Shotguns need one nerf and then they would be balanced, they could even undo some nerfs after this one. Make it so they are not 100% accurate from the air like fusion rifles so you gotta be on your feet for them to be effective. It doesn't matter how many times you nerf the range cause you can close the gap so fast in destiny. People make the comparison of destiny shotguns to other shotguns in cod or what ever and how short the effective kill range is in destiny. What makes a shotgun lethal isn't the range, it's the character and how fast you can close the gap to be in that effective range.

6 RespuestasI think the high impact shotguns should get a range nerf to stop them mapping but i don't want to see them unusable due to consistency. Maybe they could reduce the range but decrease the spread to make them consistent at very close range but as useful as a chocolate fireguard at any sort of distance.

Shotguns are in bad need of a blanket range nerf, like knocking down all shotgun ranges to at most 5-6/100 and removal of ALL range increasing perks from their drop tables. Only then will they become a balanced weapon. You are a terrible person to be advocating their use, a titan with a matador. . . Accept that shotguns are a crutch and need a nerf for balancing reasons.
