I like it so far since it isn't the old beat some gyms while fighting enemy team and then more gyms then enemy team then rare legendary then elite four then done, it's more of a new concept with the trials which makes it pretty good in my opinion

So. Much. Talking. Seriously. Half the game you're just spamming A waiting for everyone to STFU. I'm not sure if the games were just better before, or that I played them at a young age when my mind was simpler, but I haven't enjoyed a playthrough since gen 4. I think they were just genuinely better. One thing they really got right though was getting rid of HMs. It's about damn time. I beat the main adventure. Wasn't a fan of the no gym concept but I applaud the attempt for change. The totem Pokemon just seemed easy and dumb to me. I played a bit of the endgame, and caught the four Pheromosa's. That thing is a complete savage. I haven't continued the endgame after this point because I've just been dominating the battle tree with Pheromosa, Tapu Lele (which is another savage), and Gyarados. The only way I lose so far is to hax, like a Glalie 1v1ing my Gyarados only because of evasion boosts from its moody ability, Blizzard freezes (I miss every waterfall but it hits all its blizzards and gets freezes), or a high jump kick miss from Pheromosa. But all this is to be expected from Pokemon nowadays. I like how they made certain legendaries easy to catch so you can get the nature you want. They also made it where legendaries always have guaranteed three perfect IVs which is also good. I got two good Pheromosa's 31 Atk/SpAtk/Spe, one naughty nature one naive nature which is basically all you need. And they didn't take long to get because they were easy to catch. SOS battles are good for shiny hunters and for EV training, but for breeders, gen 6's friend safari was way quicker to get good IV and HA Pokemon. I can't be bothered with either tbh, both are extremely time consuming still. I battle competitively but I use Pokemon Showdown for battling instead of battling in-game because it's so much faster and easier when it comes to building teams and finding opponents. Z-moves are interesting but are so unpredictable. Stuff like Z-hypnosis giving you +1 speed and putting a Pokemon to sleep is amazing if you actually hit your hypnosis, but terrible if you don't. Z-rain dance manaphy, Z-sandstorm garchomp, or even attacks like supersonic skysyrike Landorus-T which used to never carry a flying type move are all viable options now. I also like how they changed the mega mechanics so the speed is determined after the Pokemon megas, so stuff like mega Metagross will outspeed a garchomp even before it megas. They made a lot of good Pokemon for competitive use, Tapu Lele being the most dominant right now. Overall I like the current meta a lot, but as for the playthrough I wasn't that much of a fan and probably won't even replay it.

I loved it, and i played every generation. Definitely up there. Probably my second favorite behind gen 1. The intro was awful though

Such a great fvcking game lol. Almost thought about buying Sun just to run through the story again and keep moon for online play, which I don't do all that much.

Best Pokemon. Doesn't have the strongest endgame but the gameplay is even better

good game, just wished for a new, huge island to go to in the endgame cant wait till they make a pokemon game with all the regions, and maybe the game scales with you, i dunno

The biggest problem I have with the game which kinda puts me off is there's no "real" levelling up post game, Only the Elite Four. On the older games Blissey bases were soooooooooo awesome. In Pokemon X? Levelling up in the Restaurants weren't too bad either with Lucky eggs/EXP boosters. Pokemon Sun has nothing...You even get LESS exp if your higher level then your opponent which slows it down even more. Definitely took a few steps back in levelling up

I've already gone through and have started to try and collect shinies now. All in all, it was a pretty decent game. Unfortunately, end game content is a little on the weak side. I personally liked Gold/Silver, especially being able to go through Kanto after beating the game. Definitely added a good twist to the series that they should have considered carrying over to the other games. In my opinion at least.

Definitely my favorite in the series, and one of my favorite games of the year. It mixes up the formula just the right amount.
