Sunbreaker has been the one of the worst classes in the game since Bungie nerferd it last year. It got a buff in June (If I can remember), but still isnt even close to being good. Some of the perks in it's tree are flat out useless, Flameseeker doesn't work at all, I don't know what they were trying to do with Fleetfire, and cauterize still sucks. This subclass has a lot of potential, and I'd really like to see it show through. The class is also very inconsistent, sometimes my hammer will kill the player, sometimes it hits for 8 damage.
I would like to see some of the perks I mentioned buffed and/or completely reworked. It needs to be more consistent with its damage too.Thermite grenades are a joke too. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

If Sunsinger is one of the bottom tier PvP subclasses and everyone (for the most part) agrees it needs a buff, why shouldn't that be the same for PvE? Bladedancer is widely regarded as the worst PvE subclass, so why shouldn't it deserve help to make it more viable?

13 RespuestasAt least the Sunbreaker's Hammer of Sol can get kills. Try using a Sunsinger's Radiance with Solar Grenades. You'd be lucky to even get a kill before they use you as target practice.

2 RespuestasYou can use it to snipe people if you're good with it. Also, i think it just takes skill to use it. I've gotten almost 10 kills in one use of it.

Can Sunbreaker use some more attention? Yes. Is it a weak subclass? Absolutely not. Sunbreaker is better designed for pve but it is definitely not a weak pvp subclass. Fleetfire, for example, has great synergy with Stoke the Forge and/or Simmering Flames. It's pretty fun to clean up adds with melee and grenades and just run around at ludicrous speed with three stacks of Fleetfire active. It's still helpful in Crucible when you get any Solar ability kills. Cauterize isn't nearly as effective as it used to be when it was on kill with Solar ability. The three second cooldown is about two seconds too long. But I've adapted by just slow playing the Super a bit. You just can't rush the second and third engagement if you know Cauterize triggered. It takes one bullet and your next kill will activate it. There have been plenty of times I've backed off and let my health recover before moving from cover. You have more time than you think as long as you aren't throwing hammers. Grenades are overall very good. I have no complaints about Fusion or Incendiary (my choice). I've even found Thermite fun and challenging to use, and get a surprising number of kills with them from unsuspecting players. The range is deceptive. But what it can use is either a damage buff or Burn effect added because right now it's not a deterrent. You just have to be smart how you use it and make sure you're firing your gun behind it because it's not designed to kill quickly. When I first started playing Titan, I was mostly a Defender. When Sunbreaker was king for a couple months I played mostly Striker, and ironically, it wasn't until after the December smack down that I started investing more time into it. Honestly, since the April buff when Hammer of Sol gained more damage for pve and some of it's velocity and explosive radius back, the subclass has felt great to me. By far my favorite subclass in the game. That said, I'll take whatever buff Bungie wants to throw our way.

Yo lets make a petition of some sorts; I'm tired of all of the Titans (90% at the least) run around all day with shields that generate after sprinting for 1 second. Let there be variety! I personally run SunBreaker as a main subclass but there are very few who do. Reply to this if you want SunBreakers to get better.

1 RespuestaThey just need to be made more consistent. I can't tell you how many times my hammer directly impacts somebody, and does 2-4 damage. The melee is also extremely inconsistent with it sometimes not doing damage, sometimes only applying the burn effect, and for some reason sometimes it just pushes people an extreme distance. Sometimes flameseeker does something, and sometimes it doesn't. Remove all of those problems, and it should be fine.

4 RespuestasMy main complaint is how useless the SunBreaker's neutral game is. Make thermite grenades good! Re-work them to make a decent, livable neutral on SunBreaker. The grenade even means thermal (related to heat) and mite (four legged arachnid of sorts), so this grenade could totally be a tracking grenade. Just... MAKE THIS SH*TTY GRENADE BETTER!

One day I was thinking about thermite grenades. Something I thought of was a knock back mechanic. This would be and easy counter to shotgunners, and just general rushers. Especially if you are using a sniper. And/or you could make this an exotic, and make it so that running along the path of the grenade gives you a large speed boost. Maybe to set up a Titan skate or something. I don't play much Sunbreaker. These are just ideas.

16 RespuestasLet me have multiple chances at one hitting literally everything in the game and still have insane armor and actually useable super perk trees. It's a golden gun on steroids in every way but the melee options lol. Yeah you'll have problems with it on long range maps but when 80% of the maps are close range like destiny it seems fine the way it is.

I totally agree; hammers have a weird property where they do no damage to anything (or very little at best), but still go through the animation. It's very annoying to get a ghost hammer in PvE, and PvP. Sunspots need to last as long as every other AoE effect (8 seconds) compared to its now subpar 6 seconds. Thermite grenades need to be completely re-worked (I heard an idea once; make them cause a napalm like Dragon's Breath does. That would be cool but not likely :/). My personal take on the thermite grenade is that it should be like the storm grenade, but a less powerful, longer lasting effect. If you want to get greedy, it could also ignite enemies as well. Cauterize is fine, but it is just hard to fit in with the short range of the SunBreaker. The melee needs to register properly, and it would be amazing to make thermite grenades a good neutral option for the SunBreaker. Fleetfire should effect the Titan in a way that could boost handling speeds a lot more potently than it does now, and should last longer. And for Titans in general, make the lift jump usable with high agility! And for the game itself... MAKE AGILITY DO SOMETHING USEFUL. P.S- Make enemies that explode by explosive pyre not fly out when you take them down with hammers, and make it like bloom to where all of your abilities make them explode. This is focusing on the SunBreaker, so don't complain about other subclasses when this post is specifically focusing on the SunBreaker.
