This is my first time playing. Currently level 4 high elf. Once I entered Skyrim I chose not to go further in the main quest & went to the college of winterhold focused on destruction spells.
Was this a good or bad move? I've read that I can expect a couple of items as rewards that would be better if I was a higher rank.
I'm having fun but I'm a little concerned that I could possibly miss out on maximizing my character. Thanks for any assistance that's offered.

Editado por phoenix55x: 12/4/2016 8:39:23 PMIt is nearly impossible to miss out on anything In the game except during the dlc, dark brotherhood quests, during the war quest line, or some daedric quests. Also don't worry about missing out on weapons you can make better weapons than any weapon that is naturally in the game.
touch me bby
Friend comes by and looks at body " whoever did this I will not stop until I find you." I go into hiding. Must be nothing. Super serious and actually real game logic.

Good choice. In Skyrim, the "main" quest isn't really the core of the game. In fact, it's better to take your time on it so you don't get burnt out on the game once you've completed it.
-
That was a good choice because as a mate you aren't going to rely much on rewards rather than spells get the archmages robes then try to improve enchantment by 1: making several iron daggers because they only require 1 leather strip and iron ingot you can buy this cheaply then 2: enchanting with petty soul gems then selling to repeat process use the mags stone
-
Put points into your enchantment tree, that way, any quest rewards you get can be broken down, and then made into more potent versions.
-
Play how you want, don't worry about other people's opinions
-
Do the main story first so you level up some more. And if you really wanna do it now then check skyrim wiki on which items from its quest line are leveled, get to that point, don't receive item, lv up, get item.

4 RespuestasTrain until you can cast spells in stealth with nobody caring. Casted dual fiteball on a guy made a huge explosion guard next to dead guy was talking about mead.
-
Practice your Destruction spells to the point that you can dualcast a fireball or lightning bolt then upgrade that it does impact stunning. Dragons will be the least of your worries. Aside from that, don't worry about the story. You can basically jump to and fro between major quest lines like the Thieves Guild and College quests with bare to none repercussions. Just don't do the Assassin's Guild stuff until you're done with the rest.
-
You can get some easy daedra enchanted armor. Just saying.
-
Get your hands on some shouts then come back and do that
-
I've played this game, vanilla Xbox 360, more than 2000hours. I think probably around thirty characters? 90% of my characters I've never started the main quest, because dragons are annoying as -blam!-. Also because I don't like the special snowflake quest for most of my characters. I like to try to just be a random person in Skyrim, not the chosen one. However, if you're going mage, having shouts would be a really good idea.

5 RespuestasEditado por B1GT1LL: 12/2/2016 4:38:49 PMA mage playthrough with no mods that alter spell damage is either no playing on master/legend or playing on like expert or lower simply because the game has no damage INCREASES for destruction magic. No enchant that increase spell damage no jewelry unless moddes Edit: also the lack of damaging magic is horrible you only got 4 or 5 spells per element Edit 2: forgot dragonborn dlc added those masks that add 50% or whatever but 50% of a 100 is 50 damage woo you can craft swords with 1000+ dmg

SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE NORDS!!!
Try and use flames, fireball, etc. In my opinion, they are better in the early game because of the bonus damage
-
This was a good move. I would recommend focusing on more than one school of magic at a time though. Also, as a tip, level up dual casting and dual casting stagger, its very helpful, especially against dragons. You should also learn one of the bolt spells to go with that even better.
-
The college just has more people who can teach you spells. You have to use them to get better spells in that category it will take forever to do that sitting at the college.
-
Best way to go is to custom enchant gear imho. Robes are kinda meh in that regard as you get one less gear item to stack with enchants IIRC. Could be wrong aboot that. Until you get there though, you're on the right path. You're gonna want to do the daedric quest to get
Azura's Star/The Black Star. I always go black star because it traps human souls. Human souls are always Grand souls providing stronger enchants and better refills for enchanted weapons/staves. Random bandits and stuff are plentiful enough where you'll never have to try too hard to fill it. Worst case scenario, you go murder some townfolk. I mean... I do someties. I'mma evil mage...
Try and specialize in all magic skill trees. You will level up faster and every tree has a useful skill for mages even if you don't use those types of spells Ex: Restoraion tree line has a skill that increases magicka regeneration, alteration has a skill that deflects spell damage.
-
If I were you id go find the dark brotherhood and do that quest line til you get shadowmere. You can use your destruction magic on him endlessly and it counts towards leveling up your skill tree. Once you have 100 destruction magic you can learn the master spells which are absolutely vicious, particularly the lightning spell.
-
do the main questline, you'll eventually meet a guy who wants you to harvest blood from different races, when you finish that you get a book that give you 5 skill to points to either warrior, Mage, or theif

4 RespuestasYou don't have to go to Winterhold to train your magic. This isn't exactly like past titles in that certain skill lines are not directly tied to things like guilds and quest lines. Since you are level 4 you know how leveling works more or less I imagine. As for the gear you are looking towards, you can get their likes virtually anywhere. Outside of the specifically named weapons and armor obviously lol.. you wanna keep an eye out for court mages, for example. Every hold capital town/city will have a Longhouse or castle for the Jarl. Each Jarl has a court mage who sells items for arcane characters. You can also loot these items in dungeons as well as find skill books to put your rank up in given schools of magic. Just explore every nook and cranny and try not to fast travel too much. Also, do yourself a favor and save up 5k gold for the house in Whiterun. Full pricing is 6800 for all the amenities. Grab every alchemy ingredient you run across as well, and stock them up at home. Same thing with ingots and ore. You will thank yourself later in the game for having a stockpile of everything in your home.

1 RespuestaElfs have no place in Skyrim! SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE NORDS!

Don't focus straight destruction magic. You conjure sword in one hand and destruction in the other. Still magic focused but your Also leveling up your one-handed
-
6 RespuestasMages are useless at high level, because spell damage is capped, unlike weapons which can be upgraded with Smithing and damage perks.
