Everything takes a different skill. Quit being an asshole.
Holy -blam!-ing shit this is getting annoying. People complaining weapons don't take skill. Everything takes a different skill set. Just because you are bad at that skill, doesn't mean it doesn't take ANY skill. Low entry point and high ceiling is the perfect design in a video game. Lemme break this down in what skill set the weapons take specials and primaries. Let's begin
Auto Rifles: Rewards target tracking
Hand cannons: reward precision and patience. Spamming is punished especially at range
Pulse Rifles: reward precision shots and excellent target acquisition
Scouts: reward precision shots and positioning of your character
Shotguns: Reward fast, precision movement and reaction times. Baiting corners
Aleclev with a good sidearm explanation:
Sidearms: Rewards good radar reading and good recoil control. Being able to put yourself just outside of shotgun range.
Fusion Rifles: reward target tracking and movement prediction, as well as quick reaction times
Sniper Rifles: reward precision aim and positioning of the user. Punished if challenging with many open sightlines because you are easily flinched.
Tldr: every weapon takes a different skill set to use. Weapons descriptions are above. This was not in the post but I'm putting here as a friendly reminder. Low entry point high ceiling characters and weapons are how video games should be made.

Edit: Holy shit people you guys and gals are nuts. This was supposed to be merely just an observation after playing a decent amount with each weapon. No they don't all have the same kill numbers. But I have played each of the special weapon types a good amount

Every map in destiny is close quarters, and the movement mechanics allow you to cover a 200 ft gap in less than 2 seconds. And Warlocks, whole damn class... no skill. Want a 50ft melee? Deal. Want health regen without having to get a kill? Deal. How about an overshield without having to get a kill? Deal. Homing grenades with insane tracking radius? Deal. The only grenade in the game that's a OHK? Deal. A ground smash that you can throw? Deal. Ooooh you want to ground smash then transform into a roaming super that has the fastest movent, infinite blink, and can chain across multiple enemies... DEAL. Warlocks are for the weak. That's why I bag them all.

2 RespuestasEditado por FiveBlackCards: 11/19/2016 2:53:20 AMPulse rifles are VERY user friendly due to the kill time on low rate of fire pulse rifles (clever dragon, hawksaw, etc.) the fact that they don't have hit detection issues (hand cannons, scout rifles) and don't require you to pace your shots ant any effective combat range. They're puss weapons, bottom line.

1 RespuestaI have an idea for a science experiment. Get 2000 people who have never played destiny before. Get 1000 of them to go into crucible using universal remote and a god rolled matador. Get the other 1000 to go into crucible using NLB and god rolled hidden hand snipers. After everyone completes 100 games, come up with an average kd for each test group. I'm positive the shotgun group will have a significantly higher kd. This isn't to make a case that there isn't a skill and art to shotgunning, it just means that they require very little experience to be effective with, relative to other special weapon types.

And because these -blam!-ing noob people shotguns will get nerf and I will quit destiny if it will happen (I use shotgun since the day I start play pvp)

14 RespuestasI agree almost entirely. But auto rifles simple don't reward you at all. In 1v1 engagements if your using an auto you are almost guaranteed to loose since their ttk is rather high. The only viable AR is the doctrines bullet hose archetype but it's only the doctrine that is actually viable. Sadly the other options in that bullet hose family just aren't good for many reasons. Unbent has far to much initial recoil, the new new monarchy autos base stability is to low and the soul stealers claws while a really good AR, is very difficult to get your hands on a God role which is very necessary for this archetype. And also shotguns are by far the easiest weapon to use. The only skills you learn when using a shot gun are hiding behind corners crotched, flying threw the air cause they are the only weapon that has 100% accuracy at all times and finally forgetting how to switch to your primary.

So shotguns are def the most efficient killers but effective shotgunning is what takes skill. If you are constantly trading then you aren't doing it right. The timing and foresight of making smart pushes, maybe leading with a nade then get out alive or get multiple kills takes practice. There are great counters to shotguns (looking at you Saladin's Vigil.) I've had good fusion rifle users shut my rushing game down and force me to change my approach with ease.

12 RespuestasWhen people give me hate mail for using a fusion and calling my saladins vigil OP I laugh at them when most of them are hunters just trying to double skip nad me or wombo combo to kill me instead of actually firing their gun Or they try to rush me with their shotty, Esp jug titans I just fusion them from 20-30meter out (Max range for vigil with braced frame is 40 meters... yes I've tested it) Tired of the meta? Get a fusion Have fun I literally died when someone called my vigil a OP broken gun lol So mad cause I kill him before he can get close with his shotty Fusions require the MOST skill in destiny
