I don't mind a fresh start in Destiny 2. The reason they want to do that from what I've seen is that the taken king allowed them to fix small things but they want to fix the big mistakes too, which is only possible through a fresh start. If that is true, then this could be a good move for them. That said, they'd have to figure out a way of explaining what happened to the original classes, the original characters, the original gear and environments and, perhaps most importantly, what happened to the legendary guardians that stopped atheon, crota, skolas, oryx, malok, siva... Edit: one way this could be accounted for is if destiny 2 took place in a new solar system.
