I agree wholeheartedly despite the many asinine asshats that plague this post.
All I kept from y1 was raid weapons from vog and crotas end tbh because of lack of space. It really pained me to delete armor sets from the raids that hardly anyone plays anymore.
There are those that will say "quit hoarding" or "get rid of that useless crap" or "it's your problem not Bungies".
To them I say sit and spin. All that y1 stuff is still useful in crucible, iron banner withstanding. And it really makes your character unique when you sport something no one else is. Y2 iron banner is perfect example of lack of diversity. It was boring as hell to see 5 other hunters on my team with that stupid wolf head cloak. Running last word and 1ks and quillims terminus or truth.
At least this iron banner you saw more variety in sets because y2 was infusible to y3 light levels, and class items, shaders, and emblems no longer gave you rep booster.
I like the idea of a kiosk myself or a vendor specific to the dlc a weapon or armor came from. It would be cool to buy weapons and armor from a vanilla vendor, tdb vendor, how vendor etc;
That's just my take on it on a personal level. Agree or disagree as you like but this would be cool nonetheless and increase the ability to make your character more unique.

We should make someone come to the tower next to where Eris Morn used to be, have them sell VoG weapons and armor, move Eris back and have her sell CE and KF rais items if you have received them.

I have yet to find a gun (aside from raid stuff) that wasn't completely replicated by a different name in the next expansion.
-
I'm pretty sure I didn't mention reskins in my reply to OP. I did mention raid weapons and armor from y1 though. So what's your point you're trying to make?
-
"All that y1 stuff is still useful in crucible" Anything useful in crucible from year one has a counterpart in year 2 or 3 is what I'm saying. Aside from elemental primaries which doesn't effect crucible at all I'm honestly curious what year one items are useful in crucible to you?
-
On a side note they brought back alot of y1 primaries that were fun to use in y2/3. Devil You Know Matador (although not better than y1 version) Shadow Price God Roll Queens Sniper from HOW I could go on and on really because it's all preference.
-
Right. Devil You Know got me through the raid until I got my Fatebringer (it's the same gun).
-
Praedyths Timepiece Abyss Defiant Nechrochasm Icebreaker Atheons Epilogue (thorn bounty y3) Word of Crota (thorn bounty y3) Those are just a few that still wreck in regular crucible and the bottom 2 magically became much more useful in y3.
-
They made the bounty stupid easy now so that's not even a point of contention anymore. But I guess I agree the Void burn helps there. Timepiece is outclassed by Grasp of Malok in every way, and now the Clever Dragon as well. Abyss is outclassed by Red Spectre, Hard Light, Haakon's Hatchet, Up For Anything, pretty much any of that archetype can end up with a better roll. They all can be better with better rolls. I mean you waste two perks on Abyss for strictly PvE and you think that's a good PvP gun?! Unbent tree beats Nechro.
-
Unbent tree is no way better than Necro at all. Use it properly in control or against team shooters and proc the exotic perk. Grasp is definitely a beast though, but pt still rocks in reg crucible. I get your point though I'm still keeping my favorite y1 guns. And they should still increase vault space for all the different armor sets alone.
-
I liked what they did with the Days of Iron stuff. You can keep rolling it to get what you want. They could do that with each armor set if you complete the set. That would be dope. Just have a kiosk that will give you those packages just like Days of Iron. Maybe give us something to commemorate finishing sets? More than just some emblems or shaders. Maybe like the days of iron ornaments. You get them all they unlock a lil more flair if you're wearing that full set. There's cool shit they can do for sure but that's hardly on their radar. Hopefully D2 will let us have vanity slots so we can keep good looking shit but use other shit.
-
I'm with that for sure.

Praedyths revenge. Vision of confluence. Vex Mythoclast. Ice breaker.

Corrective Measure: Unending Deluge III Fate Bringer: The Devil You Know Praedyths Revenge: Seventh Sense VoC: Hung Jury SR4 Mytho: Not really a replacement but it got nerfed into mediocrity anyway. Ice Breaker: Never thought this was a good PvP gun so I'm going to just have to disagree with you completely there but 1000-Yard Stare is pretty much the same gun. There are probably 3-4 other guns that could replace them with almost the same stats but these are just the ones I know off hand. I mean just go to planet destiny and compare. http://db.planetdestiny.com/items/weapons/primary/handcannon?desc=0&sort=rof There are plenty of guns that are the same, and you can get different / better rolls. Raid weapons are stuck to a certain archetype.

It's a shame the time you took to write this is a waste you will never get back.

I appreciate that you wasted your time to reply.😉

Thanks! Now you've wasted everyone's time😁

I keep saying that we need a raid kiosk. Awesome idea. I love the year 3 book though. Lets us earn our gear but not take up space. It'd b nice to clear out the entire 1st page of the vault though with a new kiosk. Sure i may not use the old raid weapons anymore. But id still like them there if im feeling nostalgic. So much easier to "check them off the list", Id b satisfied with that.
