With all this attention on the Owl Sector and the virus that is currently spreading among our Guardians, I feel there is something even more important needs to be addressed. It's something that every single Guardian has ignored until now. Up until this point, every player has believed that this was a straight forward game: you shoot, you loot, and you toot your Sparrow horn in victory. We were all horribly mistaken. The Destiny universe is not one-sided. We Guardians are not allowed to do whatever we want, whenever we want, without consequences.
The first indicator was a Grimoire card--something easily overlooked. In the Cabal 4 Ghost Fragment, the transcript states "Guardians foraging for equipment, dancing, and performing acrobatics with light vehicles". Meaning, the statement describes how we search for loot, dance when we want, and perform tricks on our Sparrows. The Cabal were watching us and actively reported our behavior as players. Might I remind you that the Grimoire, as of now, are the main source of lore for Destiny. This means that the behavior we show in-game has permanently affected the lore of the game.
As I've suggested, this isn't the only indicator either. In the new website that is tracking the spread of the virus that is currently affecting Guardians, under the "Brilliance 3.2" tab of records, section "OS-I6", one of the persons talking say "They're Guardians, Quist. Means the Light has cooked their brains. Haven't you seen them dancing in the Plaza, for no reason, with no music at all?" Again, our behaviors, such as randomly dancing in the Tower, have affected the lore of the game but this time our actions were judged by a character. Negatively, at that. In fact, it could be surmised that our behavior directly affected the handling of the outbreak.
If our actions, as seemingly harmless as they seem, have a direct effect on the world that we are apart of, should we not be more mindful of them? Who's to say that the effects will stop there? What if using items such as Red Death, Thorn, or either of the Ahamkara armor pieces (all of which are heavily scorned by the Vanguard) bring about negative changes to the Tower, such as alienation, increased prices at vendors, less rewards from activities, or even new enemies to be brought upon the Light?
What I'm trying to warn everyone about is this: our actions have consequences. Not only that, but these are permanent effects. They are chiseled into the lore of the Destiny universe. We must be mindful of our actions from here onward. Even small things such as the items we use or actions we make may have enormous influence on the future of Destiny. I encourage everyone to read up on the Grimoire, learn the story of Destiny, and behave accordingly. This is no longer a game. This is our game.

So does this mean that the zombies I summoned will actually get down?

WHEN WILL YOU LEARN ?

8 RespuestasI encourage Bungie to put the grimoire into the actual game so we don't have to research it on the freaking website.

1 RespuestaWarframe reference?

Nice lil feature the writers cooked up.

your dancing WILL be remembered! be afraid

I love all these posts coming from fellow lore fans. Since the owls sector is out I've seen way more lore theories then ever before on the forums!
-
I really hope they keep it up because it is those little things we do being incorporated into Destiny that make Destiny great (Like the Festival of the lost quest part where you had to fall of the edge of the tower while wearing an Atheon mask)
-
Been trying to get people to realize this since launch. Destiny IS an MMO(RPG) disguised as a shooter/looter... trouble is Bungie sometimes get the priority wrong...... sometimes, they get it spot on.

1 Respuesta
This is our game.
Bungie has stated numerous times that this is not the player's game. This game belongs to the developers and they may choose to do with whatever they wish. Our voices may be heard, though Bungie is listening through filters to only hear the voices of those asking for nerfs.

1 RespuestaActions have consequences = They send more mods and bosses for us to destroy and loot This = Profit So why is this a problem?
-
Well what are our Guardians supposed to do? Master Rahool has yet to decrypt even so much as a Sears lingerie catalog & there is no internet in the Tower that I have found, not even dial-up! My Guardian can't go to a bar, a strip club, sit properly on a couch, or even take a nap! So yes, my Guardian might be slightly Nucking Futs, might dance to no music, do crazy stupid things with the Sparrow, & in general, behave like a deranged goof-off, but hey, the Guardian is immortal & he is not alone!

I stated this the 3rd month Destiny was out. Mainly because of what was said by Bungie: ~summerized~ - We don't know how this game is going to go. We don't even know the direction the community will prefer when they get the opportunity. - There's multiple things we want to do, but ultimately, it's the player's experience and feedback that makes the final decision.
