Except then the Defenders would rule the crucible. Bubble train with 3-4 and feed 1 or 2 roaming supers and you could deny entire enemy team then harvest a nigh on full two wipes-possibly more if those roamers are Stormcallers-before restarting the train from those reapings. Enemy tries to counter oh no they made more orbs for your team to use and burned out their best answer, meanwhile you can finish burning them down after their animation. That tactic would be even more ridiculous for premades if bubbles completely nullified the supers needed to knock the walls down. At least now you got them to spend their super to kill you and prevented multikills, unless your team tries to pack more people into one bubble than is wise, it's also not like you have to stand inside it at all times, if you see a titan or warlock being ballsy enough to approach or a hunter pausing when they see you maybe you can back out of the bubble, use some other cover.

Defenders have the lowest average K/D in the cruicible. I sincerely doubt buffing Ward of Dawn would give them any kind of real edge. You can bubble train and feed now but you almost never see it. Because Defenders collectively decided not to play like asshats and exploit the game mechanics.

  • Because they don't have offensive direct damage supers, that can be upwards of a third of a solid player's kills in a match, individually speaking, take away those kills and they might drop to 1.0 or less in a match. Shotgun NBP Defenders can be annoying and frustrating but out of many of them I've seen few maintain above 1.0 kd, because as bad as they can be to run into in close quarters many of them don't make the most of their environment. They're people who heard second-hand about how awesome NBP are for Defenders with shotguns and wanted to use something that takes a bit of strategy to really pull off. The folks that do can often top the leaderboards though. My point is about team balance mate. It would break the game as much as the pre-orb nerf days if a premade group wanted to utilize it.
