Private matches just made Destiny immortal. Especially if you play destiny competitively. With the support from MLG and game battles, the future is looking bright!

Competative maybe not, cuz of too many variables. But there are definitely a lot of people who play this game mainly for PVP.
-
No offense but are you delusional?
-
The pvp in this game is kinda broken, unbalanced, laggy, has a meta, has a low skill ceiling and small skill gap. This game is not competitive at all really. The latest debate is rng Bullets, like really loll
-
Why are you still on these forums
-
Cause I have hope for some stupid reason, also this game isn't only pvp. Same reason why many others are still on this forum.
-
Destiny is not mlg no matter what anyone says.
-
Regardless of what you say and think, it's making a turn towards it.
-
It'll be a failure. Can't wait to watch laggy as matches with ghost bullets
-
You've never played in one in your entire life so I wouldn't expect you to understand. No offence but your opinion holds little to no value, you're clearly a PvE player with hardly any insight on the PvP. You should watch future tournaments with the other 50k people, might pick up a few things.
-
I play pvp commonly and I agree, destiny has no MLG future
-
Commonly is different from competitive.
-
Sure but destiny's balance simply can't be competitive without major balancing plus infinite re rolls so everyone's weapons are on the same level, the same with armor
-
You mean how to run around with a sniper as your primary or shot gun all the time?? Yawn
-
This. Lol I'm not even touching the PvE side anymore
-
PvE is fun for the first 1-2 weeks. If it wasn't for trials this game would be ended like the division.

-
who plays destiny competitively? ive tried countless times to even have a single competitive sweat and i cant get a single taker. btw, that would mean everyone uses the same guns with the same rolls, no supers, balanced movement mechanics, so no blink, shadestep.... no ohk nades, no broken melee mechanics like shoulder charge, no unbalanced things like smoke because if it is competitive you cant have one subclass in the entire game that has cc in a shooter????
-
It is not yet a competitive shooter. In its current state it never will be. However that's not to say it won't evolve. Support from these companies will give it the boost it needs.
-
Thats true if you like PvP. Should be noted though that the only reason Destiny has interest from MLG is because it's owned by Activision. If it wasn't, there is no way it'd be part of MLG, because it's unbalanced, and, well, terrible.

Then why would redbull partner with it and host tournies? Why wasn't there support from the get go? Fact is destiny is making a transition from casual PvP and repetitive PvE to a competitive PvP shooter.
-
Then why would redbull partner with it and host tournies? Why wasn't there support from the get go? Fact is destiny is making a transition from casual PvP and repetitive PvE to a competitive PvP shooter.
You are so so so wrong. This game has always made its money with pve, and that isn't going to change. People aren't buying this game because of pvp. It will always be the pve. Because it is the pve that makes destiny different from any other shooter. Pvp is included for the idiots who don't know there are other games to play when the pve content is in a drought.
-
If it wasn't for the PvP, destiny would be dead. Trials kept this game alive. Fact is people will eventually get bored of PvE content but PvP will always stay alive as long as they're updating the game. The appeal was PvE but that was in September 2014. You can see for yourself they're releasing less and less PvE stuff. There was no real PvE content for the whole of year 2 apart from kingsfall and there will probably be nothing major coming after Rise Of Iron. So what better way to fill the gap between now and destiny 2 with private matches, what's the best way to utilise private matches? Tournaments. Destiny PvE is getting less popular every expansion. The viewership in twitch is mainly dominated by PvP streams.

Sorry but no. Cross-promotions for product partnerships have NOTHING to do with "going competitive", ZERO. Unless the company is actually a competitive gaming sponsor company that's a different story. Redbull could care less if Destiny is "competitive" as they were trying to sell Rebull by offering a quest through a code. Destiny WILL NEVER be competitive unless it was like Halo were it was set loadouts, no supers, etc. Nothing in the game is balanced and never will be so it cannot be competitive.
-
This.. I literally laugh when I hear the words destiny and competitive in the same sentence.. How can it possibly be competitive when everything literally everything is random? I didn't see any custom game options to make set load outs with gear that has set rolls (or no rolls) on it. The very basis of competitive games is to have a flat game with even weapons that all perform the exact same everytime... Destiny has so many variables that give each player a potential for an advantage that I just can't help but laugh at the Ida of it being competitive. Haha!

It's a working progress. Like I said everyone commenting 'Destiny isn't comp' has never played in that environment before. Majority who jump to that conclusion and fail to see the competitive potential destiny has are the ones who are somewhat below average in PvP meaning their understanding on it will not be relatable by someone who plays it competitively consistently. Not to say that your opinion means nothing but you and I have a very different understanding on Destiny PvP. A big reason you fail to see the competitive side of destiny is you not playing enough in that environment.
