The Queen could take the place of the fallen King. Remember she isn't reanimated by the traveler like guardians are. That's why a guardian can't be new Hive king

What if in Destiny 2, the Dreadnaught became a new social space because of her. That would be pretty cool imo.

We don't know if that is why or if it is simply because as Guardians we were uninterested in taking the throne (even Bungie employees in a recent podcast with [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEgHalZoCtg]Game Informer[/url] gave conflicting answers to this) but yes with Oryx out of the way Mara could conceivably fill the void, especially if her Harbingers are making way for her to do so, their very name implies that they are signalling or making way for the approach of someone or something else.
