I'm having the same issue. So, what's occurring is that I can't play the Taken King content on my brand new Xbox one, until the 19th when Rise of Iron comes out? This is asinine and hopefully Bungie or Microsoft will address this soon.

I've been trying quite hard for a week to get some resolution on this. I haven't been able to play taken king content since I bought an Xbox One S. I've contacted @Bungiehelp on twitter several times, been all over this forum, destiny reddit, and even went as far as to ask Planet Destiny for help. The only hope is for the microsoft service request to go through or I break down and buy the full collectors edition :(
