330+...? Really you can't handle the Raid below that?
I've seen a lot of guys requiring guys to be 330+ to join a raid. Why? Are you that bad? Okay that was a little uncalled for, but seriously, level means next to nothing when you can get to 335 without ever being in a raid.
I took a little vacation from my console while I was moving and the max level went from 320 to 335. The HM raid was a cake walk at 310, and after playing it again, it's still a cake walk at 310. I played the other day with a guy almost 10 levels higher than me, and I was teaching him the raid.
A better judge of one's ability to assist in a raid is his emblems, his grimoire raid stats, and the most important his ability to communicate effectively. If you feel you need 330 or higher, you're doing it wrong.
Edit: So many good reply's, even ones that disagree, so I won't try and respond to all of them, but thank you. I hope this conversation has resulted in at least a little education for some. Remember, raid experience and communication skill are the most important factors in a raid. Light level comes in afterwards.

There will always be children who post stupid crap on LFG. This is a common theme - I have learned to ignore it and simply avoid those groups as they ironically tend to fail the most in the raid.

I guess it's the old mentality. Before the Update, if you were above 315 there was a good chance that you raid often. When the update dropped, a lot of people were max light within the week. So now high light doesn't mean experience, it just means you can't increase your light level. Nowadays it's hard to find out who has experience, like I have probably done Kings Fall over 50 times, but I've only beat Oryx like 3, so grimore counts that as 3 completions. I don't know, I don't raid much anymore, it's not like year one. I used to just do Templar because it was my favorite part( for some reason). But could do the raid, got a Vex from my first hard mode, I just didn't enjoy Atheon as much

300 for hard, 270 for normal. Those are fine. My first hard completion I was 301

Its funny I have never had problems getting into raids since Atheon. There was the Skolas "Must have Gjallerhorn" thing too. Anyone at the base LL required for the raid can be effective. Having two 330+ make it easier though. Doing DPS mainly is where it helps.

4 Respuestas335 on all chars. when Im looking to do raid its only so I can infuse what I get into other stuff (if not 335 dismantled on spot including exotics).... I want it done. I want it to be over with so I can go back to crucible. I know there are some people who dont whats goin on.... so after im done ill post a group without the limitations specifically knowing ill somehow get a 305.

Agreed! I cleared a full KF Hard run (including challenge) on my brother's 302 Titan & 298 Warlock. The main thing is to have a team of at least 4 players who are experienced. Nothing wrong with a full team of leaning noobs but...I just don't have that level of patience anymore.

6 RespuestasI sherpa, but when I just feel like raiding and getting it done, I usually just require specific weapons more than LL. If they have ToM and Black Spindle, they are pretty much in.

1 Respuestaheres what i think: if its my raid i can play with whoever i want, but 330 light is a stupid way to be choosey if youre going to require that people are experienced in the raid just have them equip the oryx hard mode emblem or golgoroth i have played with many people who make virtually zero mistakes in the entire raid and i have played with people who have never done it before I will say this though, If someone is 320 max light you can assume they dont regularly do the raid. of course theres plenty of ways to be 330+ with out doing the raid, but if youre not 320 its generally a safe bet you dont do the raid every week like some people want you to if youre playing with them

4 RespuestasOf course the OP is below 330. Do the raid enough and become a master at it, then we'll see how much you enjoy playing with players who are potentially clueless. There are plenty of non requirement posts out there.

It has always been that way since vanilla. VOG people on wanted lvl 30's even though most did hard as a 28 or 29. Crota people wanted on lvl 32's, which was a joke, and the even bigger joke was that they started requirring it for VOG... Then HOW and 34, etc, etc. When I see posts like that, I just keep scrolling. I get why they do it though. They are assuming it will give them the best shot at clearing the raid, as fast as possible. They hit 330+ so they figure, they should be able to play with others who have, and hey, why not? It is their fire team. So let them. Let those people have their fireteam they way they want it. Scroll on and find a different team. Me personally, unless it is someone I know, I ask for 315+ since the April update, I figure if you are half trying, you have hit 315, and really I need to at least half try in the raid lol.

4 RespuestasFunny thing is folks ask for 330+ light when they'll be dealing the damage of someone who's at the required light to enter the raid. Damage is scaled. It's why a level 3 dreg can kill a level 40 guardian.

The only part of the raid that I get confused on is the oryx fight which is why I'm usually on add control with my titan everything else is a cake walk

Unfortunately you have a section of the community who believe they are elite and like to play with other elite players. There are plenty of people who run with people from 300 light. Just ignore these players as you will have a bad time.

I stopped playing in November (started playing again 3 weeks ago) but I did NM week one we where all under 300 (I was 295) and hard mode week one (all under 310) minus oryx at 308 and it was easy I can do anything in any raid at any difficulty with ease even though my highest character is 320 and I have more experience than half the 330 people that have only done kings fall I've done every raid except VoG week one ( and skolas)

This raid is all about coordination. As long as everyone knows his or her job, I personally don't think LL means jack.

I agree with you! More often than not, the teams telling you to be "this" light level have a hard time completing the raid, especially Oryx. I did the hard raid as a 307 and was fine, while others on my team were way higher and were dying. All in all, just don't join people like that.
