Like the title says he hasn't. People act like he's been crap after crap ever since the Dreamcast. But really that's not true. He was great on Genesis. That's a fact. While the games don't hold up as well now aside from the Sonic parts, the Adventure games were undeniably great at the time and Chao was addicting. Now we split into 2 halfs. Let's do handhelds first. People bitching about Mania being the first good Sonic game in forever because it's 2D are wrong. On GBA and DS we had the great Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush games. That's 5 great 2D adventures right there. With some duds like that Sonic Battle game and Sonic Rivals games on handhelds. Now the main lineup again. Heroes was decent. Far from bad. But not great. Riders was okay as a racing game. But Jet the Hawks voice alone ruined it. Same with Zero Gravity and let's not talk about Free Riders. Then we come to crap which is Sonic 06, Secret Rings and Black Knight. Just awful. But then there's some greatness in Unleashed. The daytime levels were fantastic. And the werehog segments weren't even bad if you asked me. They just dragged on. Then we have Sonic 4 games. Which while not as good as the Genesis ones, they're still very good in their own right. Then we hit true greatness with Colors and Generations. Generations is even dare I say it the best Sonic game to date to me. Then we go to meh territory with Lost World. Not total trash. But just meh. Then more absolute crap with Sonic Boom. And now with Mania and Project 2017, I'd say were in the right track again. Sonic has had a lot of bad games. But it has not been years upon years since a great one.
