Okay, hear me out. Exotics used to feel "exotic", right? That's because they were much harder to get. The only reliable sources for them was nightfall, raid, and xur. So that's a pretty limited number of chances at an exotic. Fast forward to year 2. We have Three of Coins, which can give you an exotic from any Ultra or at the end of a Crucible match. Personally, on average I get an exotic for every 5-10 3oC I use. Now, I'm not saying 3oC are a bad thing. They're actually pretty cool and I enjoy the concept. However, they are far too accessible. My idea is that 3oC should ONLY drop from nightfall, and Shaxx's weekly Crucible bounties. There will be people who have thousands of Strange Coins saved up, and probably a ton of 3oC as well. They will be able to get all of the new exotics in the first week of Rise of Iron (obviously not quest related ones). Those same people will then probably come to the forums complaining that they have nothing to do, even though they're the ones who ruined it for themselves. So basically, the fact that Xur sells 3oC for such a cheap and reasonable price really made exotics much less of a rarity. I want to be EXCITED when I see that exotic I don't have. I don't want to get it at Rahool every time because of engrams. I want exotics to be exotic again! Do any of you remember the reactions people would have when they got Gally? Or Icebreaker? Edit: So, maybe make 3oC more common as a drop alongside this idea. This way you don't get as many useless ghosts and class items. So, it'd be making the nightfall worthwhile and making exotics feel more exotic. Sounds like a win-win to me. Edit 2: Still a fair amount of hate. Okay, so how about this: every nightfall will give you 3-5 3oC guaranteed, alongside your normal drop. That's 4-7 strange coins worth in today's market. That way if you do 3 nightfalls in a week, you're almost sure to get at least 1 exotic. Like I said before, I think they're a great addition to the game. They just have a far bigger impact than they should imo.
