IS A WAVE AFTER A KILL IN PVP OFFENSIVE?
Ok so there are alot of guardians out there who insist on a quick t-bag after a kill; personally it doesn't bother me but most people I game with rage a little after a bagging. Now how about a wave?
Is this friendly game play or does it come across a little bit smug?
I'm actually that terrible at pvp so I've hardly the ability to notice anyway. It has been a topic of convo in our fireteams; interested to see what others think

Pretty much any emote or action after a kill is going to come off smug....only reason I've ever waved (besides them starting it) is when someone flies off the map or kills them self with a grenade/rocket.

Depends. I had some one pop a bubble and then bow at me. I popped my arc blade sent two of the electric attacks that run along the ground and popped the bubble. Then I slashed the Titan and sent them off the cliff. I then waved. I didn't have a bow emote so I felt the wave was the way to go to not be offensive. I felt it was a duel and I won that one.

Not offensive no. If it's an undeserved wave then it can be annoying (like one from someone is the bottom of their team and severely negative, or someone you have wrecked 4 or 5 times in a row and they got lucky once). This being said I will give a salute when I take someone out of their super before they get a kill with it.

I wave depending on the circumstance. Like stopping a blade dancer in his tracks using a tripmine/throwing knife/hung jury combo. Or like a match of control I had recently were me and an opponent kept running into and killing eachother over and over until I got that one final kill in the last 10 seconds of the match that put me ahead in kills against one another. In this case it was a show of respect and good times.

1 RespuestaI never t-bag but i do wave after I get a team wipe in 3v3s or 4+ kills in 6v6s. I don't think it's that offensive.

I seriously dance or wave after every kill if I'm not pinched or low on health. Idk why, it's fun though.

A wave or something after you got killed by a decent player is kinda like showing respect, tea bagging there's a fine a line between it being offensive and it being funny.

I don't do anything unless done to me. Eye for an eye as they say. But as far as a wave goes, wouldn't bother me. You t bag me and I'll hunt you to the ends of the earth and t bag you relentlessly to the point where your teammates are going to have to take me out for me to stop.

1 RespuestaNow i'm bad so i can't be considered a prick no matter what i do, i'll be dying more than killing normally. Last IB i would give a wave after i respawned if someone got a really good kill on me. I would wave on the offensive too , if i got a nice shot off. I doubt they considered it a sign of arrogance.

I will say I have done the wave before. Actually I've done it a bunch. Most of the time it's after a great kill I got. Sometimes mostly just lucky kills lol. And yes I can see how this is smug. But way better than T bagging. That I don't like at all. Now sometimes I've waved or shrugged to make my opponent upset just to say hey I got you and I'll get you again. Just like people trash talk in the NBA or other sports. Trash talking is a way to throw your opponent off his game. Some people are affected by it and play poorly and make poor decisions. But don't let it go too far. Don't send messages or T bag. That's not right in my book. Play to have fun. If you have fun waving after a kill, then do it. But don't be surprised if people do it back. And learn to just let that stuff slide if it does effect you. That's my thoughts:)

1 RespuestaIf someone teabags me, and the stats show im better, I bag them every single time I put them down. But I'm not generally one to teabag without provocation. I do have the "Taunt" equipped on my guardian, and I use that every once in a while if the situation warrants it, or I got super lucky and had an epic series of kills or something. If I give you the wave, it's actually flattering. That means you and I went toe-to-toe, and it was sweaty. I killed you by sheer luck or something like that, and I want to acknowledge that you were hard fought.

1 RespuestaAs you can tell from the comments, everyone reacts a little different. A wave I take as more of an acknowledgement why a teabag is more a taunt. But I like to do both because it's fun to interact with players by more than just the gun play. Just have funny Mezzy.

2 RespuestasGenerally, emoting is perceived as taunting, and that you're conveying a smugness that others may find belittling. I prefer to just play, but I'd rather be emoted than tea bagged, which (imo), is out right juvenile at best.

I never tbag because in my opinion it's childish. I do use emotes as a distraction on a regular basis. >=]
