Buying a new gen system isn't the problem...
I'm going to buy an xbone probably this weekend. Exclusively for destiny. I'm older and it's literally the only video game I play these days.
I am a little irritated that I have to buy the game and all dlc's again. That is kind of silly... considering I've already bought and utilized them.

I'm in the same boat. I'd wait a bit before rebuying. They will probably announce some sort of discount to help make the transition easier for old gen players.

The only available version of Destiny is TTK*, which is $60 Destiny TTK comes with all Dlc up to and including TTK, therefore you save money. *(yes you can buy destiny by itself without TTK physical. But TDB and HoW are already transferred and purchased on next gen systems. However, you can also buy Destiny TTK physical as well and [i]used.[/i] saving you even more money)

I'm with you that buying all the dlcs again is bullshit, I switched back and forth between xbone and 360 a lot when ttk came out as half my close friends moved up to next gem and half didn't do it was annoying to have to pay all that money for the same damn dlc, but for the rise of iron if much prefer that they make it next gen so they can do more with the power the newer consoles have.

I've heard they're implementing systems to transfer EVERYTHING from one console to the next. Just wait a bit and see what they do.

If you bought the game digitally, it'll be free on Xbox One. The first two dlcs will also transfer over. The Taken King is the only thing that you'll have to rebuy.

Well if you plan accordingly you can buy it now while on super sale unless xbox live doesn't have a destiny sale. Its $29.89 on the PSN and thats TTK edition so it will be another $30 for Iron dlc which equals 1 game.

I'm a Xbox player and just bought a PS4 earlier today at GameStop. And Destiny TTK new unopened was $30. I think it'll be fun leveling up a new character on a different console.

When the Taken King came out the version of the game they started selling was the Taken King edition which includes all the year one content. That plus the rise of iron DLC will get you caught up ($90 total, maybe less if taken King edition isn't $59 anymore). Also they may end up doing a Rise of Iron edition of the game that includes the latest expansion so may be worth waiting for that.

Buying the special Taken King version comes with all the previous DLC I believe so that saves you a little money but I understand your frustration

The TTK edition gives you everything Destiny up to now for only $30. That being said I'm sure they will release another comprehensive edition with ROI.

If you are in North Carolina I might give you a decent deal on it. Only had one response today and had to tell a scammer I'm not shipping it overseas

Chances are rise of iron will come with all old content if you buy the disk. For taken king it actually cost me less to buy the legendary disk than it did to get the download able expansion

In all honesty, the game launched with PS4, which is a clear sign that it will eventually completely replace the PS3. Not just Destiny, but all games will lose support over time. It has been almost 3 years. This is an inevitability. I know it sucks, because it is a lot of money, but the writing was always on the wall. Best of luck, PvP is about to get much more challenging for you.
