EDIT 2: You idiots!!! Did ANYONE who commented READ my post??? I UNDERSTAND LAST GEN IS LAST GEN!!! I GET IT! I'VE UNDERSTOOD THIS WAS COMING EVENTUALLY!!! My real point was that I didn't want Bungie to do what they did in TTK, and ruin the best parts of the game if you didn't upgrade! Turns out they are doing something like what I suggest, splitting the generations and leaving old gen where it is. ALL I WAS ASKING was for Bungie to treat us fairly, unlike what happened last year!
EDIT: WOW, Why so much hate for last gen?? It's not like I want YOUR party ruined. Will all you next-gen players try putting yourselves on the other side of the fence? Some of us just can't upgrade. That's how it is. At LEAST Bungie could leave it the way it is without ruining our game...
---------------------------------
So that's how it is then, X360 and PS3 is being left out of the Rise of Iron?
If that's true, I hope there is a good enough explanation given when it's official. And if there is, then fine. So be it. I've had a blast so far, and would not mind seeing Destiny get left where it is...
But promise us one thing....
DON'T do to use what you did to everyone who didn't buy TTK. DON'T cut us off from Dailies, from Strikes, from earning Legendary marks and so on. If we can't have year 3 weapons, DON'T take Xur away. And if you allow us to see/use year 3 weapons, WTFH would you leave us out of the whole thing? DON'T show us weapons that require us to be "Level 60" or whatever to use and laugh in out faces because we don't have next gen. DON'T do that!!! DON'T have "Zombie Fallen" or whatever raid the patrols and mock us that we cannot fight them. DON'T make us look at campaign missions we can't play, DON'T downgrade all of our gear and make it useless... DON'T RUIN THE GAME FOR THOSE LEFT BEHIND!!! (ADMIT IT! YOU DID RUIN IT FOR THOSE WHO DIDN'T BUY TTK!!! ADMIT IT!!! YOU TOOK AWAY MOST OF THE ENDGAME CONTENT AND TEASED THEM UNTIL THEY PAID UP AND BOUGHT THE NEW CONTENT!)
Listen, here's an idea:
You've already stated that you will NEVER allow cross-generation gameplay because of the sheer difference in screen size/resolution, that makes an uneven playfield. Fine. Separate the gap even further!
Split the universes! They are split already. Let our version of Xur forever carry only Y2 gear, let our vendors carry only what they carry now. Leave the Dailies and the Nightfalls and such as they are (Or make them better, like, re-adding the blue flames? plz?) and don't ramp them to levels we can't compete on. Don't raise our Guardian level cap, and stop us from gaining motes of light from over-leveling, especially now that motes have a use now! And here's something better yet! You ready for this?...
BRING BACK THE WOLVES! And the Taken, AND the Blades of Crota! (or whatever the Dark Below events were called, I came in on HoW) All 3 at once? No, Alternate, on a weekly basis! One week is Crota Week, next is Wolves, next is Taken, etc. Or fine, maybe all at once. Maybe alternate by the day?
If this is really the end for us, why not give us a "Thank you for playing Destiny" reward? Just something to put the cherry on the top of a grand experience? I donno, maybe a shader, or emblem, or sparrow, or whatever. Heck, even, dare I say it, an... gulp... emote... Just SOMETHING to make it special! I'm just asking that you do us right, because for those who couldn't buy TTK, you left them with a weak game with prettymuch ONLY the original campaign, while we got to wander around the Tower and look at all the weapons we can't have, and the new quests we can't play, and the Iron Banana and Trials of Leet that we can no longer participate in. That was mean. I get it; you want to "encourage" those who hung back to pony up, but here we CAN'T do that. So don't do that to us!
There is one major problem, and I am interested in your solution to it, because it's coming either way. See, the two generations ARE connected, to an extent. If I play on XBone or 360, I play the same guardian and use the same gear, only in a different instance of the world. This is why I can't really believe you're doing this. You just can't do this kinda thing, and leave a whole section of your playerbase behind. So the problem then, what happens when an Xbone player has new gear, and then goes to play on a 360 again? Where does it go? I am supposing you're going to have to disable it somehow. Maybe add the database entries, but render them as default pieces? That seems most likely, but that will leave us last-gen players stuck in a crappy version of your world, like with TTK, and I said a million times, DON'T DO THAT!!! The only option I can think of right now is to separate the characters, making 2 versions of them, for everyone. This means you'll automatically have to double the size of the database to accommodate, but you can support last gen in all its faded glory, and not strip it down to a prolonged demo of "Destiny, Year 3". But, you could do it. I might also suggest perhaps a form of transit, between characters, like sending something thru a time portal to the past or future, so that if Old Character finds a cool exotic or something, New Character can get it. This kinda isn't the best idea, but I can't think of anything better at the moment.
All I'm saying is, Bungie, PLEASE don't ruin the game for us! If it is indeed our fate to be left behind, then do us right and leave us with a solid, and satisfying game, and don't just taunt us for not owning a next-gen console by dangling all the content we can't have in front of us.

The whole idea of the game is to be a commercial success and make money hand over fist. This is what businesses try to do , make a profit. That's a basic premise of all business NOT just Bungie. Look at Microsoft phasing out win 95, 97 etc, and bringing out updated new op systems. It's called progress whether we like it or not.
-
It should be left behind. They're over 10 years old.
-
That's because you didn't believe in RNGesus enough now your fate is in the hands of Kirk Cameron.
-
Didn't read, just screamed yay!! After reading the title.
-
Because its time to set our on distance horizons. It's time for last gen to die. Support is being dropped left and right by game devs.
-
After nearly 10 years since it's release, nearly 4 years since it's successor released, and with an upgraded ps4 on the horizen is it really absurd to think about dropping ps3/360? I'll admit I was suprised, thought it wouldn't be till destiny 2. But I'm not sad or outraged by it.
-
So in three years you haven't been able to save enough to upgrade your console ? Not sure what to say about that, I mean the prices have even gone down soooo...
-
"I can't/won't upgrade so cater to my needs and spend more money for little return because I say so"
-
I agree and disagree. I agree they should move away from old consoles. It's time I disagree that they are doing so during the current life of the game. At a time when the game/company could use a morale boost heading into Destiny 2...If I had a ps3 or 360 you could bet I wouldn't be buying another Bungivision product. Tldr: I have a PS4. Business wise it's a slap in the face of current customers...but hey it's Destiny. What else is new?
-
1 RespuestaHad Destiny on PS3 until HoW then I got a PS4 but still played on PS3 until my friends upgraded as well. Last gen is straining to even run TTK with its RAM limitations. Example of this is Borderlands 2. Reason why they stopped bringing out full DLC was the console versions couldn't handle anymore. Heck the consoles crashed if certain guns were used by more than one player.
-
1 RespuestaWell, ps2 and Xbox eventually got left behind for ps3 and Xbox 360. It has to happen at some point.
-
1 RespuestaYou realize that this happens every gen right? Are you kidding me? I didn't upgrade to current gen until they had been out for a year due to monetary reasons. Three dollars a day for one hundred days and you have a new system. Where I'm from people spend that on coffee everyday. Go without coffee it's no one elses fault but yours you don't save your money for things you want. We should not be hard capping what is possible to cater to ten year old hardware. If you have money for Internet you have money for a new console. If your a kid save your allowance mow lawns shovel driveways sell peanuts I don't care your argument is baseless and moot.
-
3 RespuestasYou're right. It's not like every other developer has abandoned last gen, They should release it for last gen and lose money. It's a really smart idea.
-
We're not going to baby last gen, it's time has past and time to let go. I'm happy developers are leaving it.
-
This is just the way of things, new replaces old, did any of you go ape-shit when skyrim didn't come out on the mega drive? We all new this was going to happen 1 day
-
The community is splitting. It's gonna be hell for a long time now.
-
I have a current gen. I just don't want to buy the game again. Yes, it's the only game on the old console I play. Yes, I'm sure Destiny would be better on my current gen. I'm just stubborn. I can't justify buying the entire game, just for one last dlc, even if I can easily afford to do so.
-
Sucks to suck move on
-
Yup, bye.
-
By buying a current gen console u do more than nust ur community a favor You do your eyesite a favor i upgraded a while ago and i cant stand 360 graphics anymore i can see much clearer now looks so nice Trust me it is worth it

1 RespuestaEditado por TYCUS D-001: 6/9/2016 11:48:28 PMI was on the other side of the fence and i realized that it was time to move on. I sold all my Halo saga, i lost all my downloaded games, all the movies, songs, etc. You last gen wont be a heavy weight for us next gen any longer. Join or move a side.
-
https://youtu.be/qIA18L1ei58 Let it go old gen, you have held us back long enough and we don't care anymore. LMAO old gen.
-
24 RespuestasAll these people are complaining "we deserve to be left behind if we won't upgrade" people are so damn stupid some of us can't find a job (As shocking as that may be to some) some of us don't just land in a job or get hired because we know people and such! i just wish people would understand but most won't because they have a closed mind! and are only worried about themselves i mean do i want a PS4 hell yeah but i can't find a job where i live so i understand the fact of people saying new gen should carry on and it's happened before but i just don't like the way Bungie went about this and all. And for people wanting to whine and complain about my post or me as a person IDGAF so thanks :D
-
1 RespuestaNext gen is 300 bucks. Games are 60. Skip the next 5 games you're going to buy, and upgrade instead.
-
i know. last week before the last gen servers get shutdown, they should allow everyone on last gen to equip every exotic gun and armor, and get every perk for your subclass, so it can be a memorable last week!

Just like your parents did to you
