EDIT 2: You idiots!!! Did ANYONE who commented READ my post??? I UNDERSTAND LAST GEN IS LAST GEN!!! I GET IT! I'VE UNDERSTOOD THIS WAS COMING EVENTUALLY!!! My real point was that I didn't want Bungie to do what they did in TTK, and ruin the best parts of the game if you didn't upgrade! Turns out they are doing something like what I suggest, splitting the generations and leaving old gen where it is. ALL I WAS ASKING was for Bungie to treat us fairly, unlike what happened last year!
EDIT: WOW, Why so much hate for last gen?? It's not like I want YOUR party ruined. Will all you next-gen players try putting yourselves on the other side of the fence? Some of us just can't upgrade. That's how it is. At LEAST Bungie could leave it the way it is without ruining our game...
---------------------------------
So that's how it is then, X360 and PS3 is being left out of the Rise of Iron?
If that's true, I hope there is a good enough explanation given when it's official. And if there is, then fine. So be it. I've had a blast so far, and would not mind seeing Destiny get left where it is...
But promise us one thing....
DON'T do to use what you did to everyone who didn't buy TTK. DON'T cut us off from Dailies, from Strikes, from earning Legendary marks and so on. If we can't have year 3 weapons, DON'T take Xur away. And if you allow us to see/use year 3 weapons, WTFH would you leave us out of the whole thing? DON'T show us weapons that require us to be "Level 60" or whatever to use and laugh in out faces because we don't have next gen. DON'T do that!!! DON'T have "Zombie Fallen" or whatever raid the patrols and mock us that we cannot fight them. DON'T make us look at campaign missions we can't play, DON'T downgrade all of our gear and make it useless... DON'T RUIN THE GAME FOR THOSE LEFT BEHIND!!! (ADMIT IT! YOU DID RUIN IT FOR THOSE WHO DIDN'T BUY TTK!!! ADMIT IT!!! YOU TOOK AWAY MOST OF THE ENDGAME CONTENT AND TEASED THEM UNTIL THEY PAID UP AND BOUGHT THE NEW CONTENT!)
Listen, here's an idea:
You've already stated that you will NEVER allow cross-generation gameplay because of the sheer difference in screen size/resolution, that makes an uneven playfield. Fine. Separate the gap even further!
Split the universes! They are split already. Let our version of Xur forever carry only Y2 gear, let our vendors carry only what they carry now. Leave the Dailies and the Nightfalls and such as they are (Or make them better, like, re-adding the blue flames? plz?) and don't ramp them to levels we can't compete on. Don't raise our Guardian level cap, and stop us from gaining motes of light from over-leveling, especially now that motes have a use now! And here's something better yet! You ready for this?...
BRING BACK THE WOLVES! And the Taken, AND the Blades of Crota! (or whatever the Dark Below events were called, I came in on HoW) All 3 at once? No, Alternate, on a weekly basis! One week is Crota Week, next is Wolves, next is Taken, etc. Or fine, maybe all at once. Maybe alternate by the day?
If this is really the end for us, why not give us a "Thank you for playing Destiny" reward? Just something to put the cherry on the top of a grand experience? I donno, maybe a shader, or emblem, or sparrow, or whatever. Heck, even, dare I say it, an... gulp... emote... Just SOMETHING to make it special! I'm just asking that you do us right, because for those who couldn't buy TTK, you left them with a weak game with prettymuch ONLY the original campaign, while we got to wander around the Tower and look at all the weapons we can't have, and the new quests we can't play, and the Iron Banana and Trials of Leet that we can no longer participate in. That was mean. I get it; you want to "encourage" those who hung back to pony up, but here we CAN'T do that. So don't do that to us!
There is one major problem, and I am interested in your solution to it, because it's coming either way. See, the two generations ARE connected, to an extent. If I play on XBone or 360, I play the same guardian and use the same gear, only in a different instance of the world. This is why I can't really believe you're doing this. You just can't do this kinda thing, and leave a whole section of your playerbase behind. So the problem then, what happens when an Xbone player has new gear, and then goes to play on a 360 again? Where does it go? I am supposing you're going to have to disable it somehow. Maybe add the database entries, but render them as default pieces? That seems most likely, but that will leave us last-gen players stuck in a crappy version of your world, like with TTK, and I said a million times, DON'T DO THAT!!! The only option I can think of right now is to separate the characters, making 2 versions of them, for everyone. This means you'll automatically have to double the size of the database to accommodate, but you can support last gen in all its faded glory, and not strip it down to a prolonged demo of "Destiny, Year 3". But, you could do it. I might also suggest perhaps a form of transit, between characters, like sending something thru a time portal to the past or future, so that if Old Character finds a cool exotic or something, New Character can get it. This kinda isn't the best idea, but I can't think of anything better at the moment.
All I'm saying is, Bungie, PLEASE don't ruin the game for us! If it is indeed our fate to be left behind, then do us right and leave us with a solid, and satisfying game, and don't just taunt us for not owning a next-gen console by dangling all the content we can't have in front of us.

4 RespuestasMicrosoft has already stopped producing the 360 and Sony will no doubt follow suit very soon. Old gen is being left behind whether you like it or not. I've been telling ppl all week that if you are so strapped for cash that you still haven't been able to upgrade after 3 years then you probably shouldn't be wasting your money on video games to begin with. Get your priorities in order.
-
It was inevitable at some point, not sure why they've decided now is that time though. I'd be pissed off if my investment in the game was basically written off so flippantly like that. Old gen guardians have helped to make this game what it is, and their money has been used to develop content they're being told they will not be able to play. Kind of sucks tbh.

1 RespuestaI only have a 360 and I am not upset. It's time to move on. The one and ps4 have been out for a while. I don't blame bungie. It is what it is
-
I just cannot see your argument here. If you really cannot afford a PS4, then you probably should not have bought a PS3. Are you on this Site with your phone or on the computer? Either way if you can afford a PS3, internet, and either a smart phone or a computer, then you can afford to upgrade.

16 RespuestasOk, while I understand what you're trying to say, you're severely misguided in your opinions. For starters, you're taking things personally that have absolutely nothing to do with you. This is all about economics, nothing else. Bungie is a business, and businesses exist to make a profit. Supporting old-gen hardware limits those profits. Dual-gen development costs extra money while, at the same time, puts a hard ceiling on potential creativity by forcing developers to limit their games to fit an old-gen system. Old-gen consoles' capabilities are old news and not all that attractive to new players. By limiting the capabilities of the game, you limit potential profits. Not to mention the carrying costs of running servers for old-gen systems. Notice that we don't pay monthly fees for server use, right? A portion of the cost of each game and DLC goes to keeping those servers running, and therefore, limiting profits by forcing dual development also limits the quality and quantity of servers Bungie can employ. It's actually a reasonable argument to make that supporting old-gen consoles for as long as Bungie has actually degraded the quality of the game for current-gen consoles owners. Again, this is economics, nothing personal. As to your point about Bungie ruining the game for people who don't upgrade, you're misguided again. You still have access to everything you paid for. You can still play the same strikes, story missions, raids, and Crucible maps that you paid for initially. There was never a guarantee that those things would exist in the exact same form or playlist as they did initially. The fact that Bungie doesn't give you access to new strikes, raids, Iron Banner, or Trials should be expected. You don't purchase their product, they're not obligated to continue supporting you (as a clearly explained in the first two paragraphs). Again, nothing personal, just simple economics. Imagine buying a car, driving it and taking care of it for a few years, and letting your friend use it too. After a few years, you want to upgrade to a nicer, new car. Your friends insists that you keep the old car because he still drives it (even though he never pays for gas or maintenance). You don't want to be a jerk to your friend so you keep the old car and are instead severely limited in the car you can buy for yourself. You're forced to settle for a three year old used car with low miles and only a couple dents as scratches. Still better than what you had, but imagine what you could have afforded if you weren't supporting your buddy? No rational person makes that choice, so why should a multi billion dollar industry be expected to do so? I get that not everyone has the discretionary income available to buy a current-gen system. Trust me, with 3 kids, a wife, two cars, a mortgage, and student loan debt all on a high school teacher's salary...I understand where you're coming from. I just want you to understand where Bungie is coming from. It's truly not personal. If you choose to keep the old-gen console, you're going to have to accept the realities of that situation, that's all there is to it.

Here friend, I'll refer you to my new post. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/206285999/0/0

Forgive me, but I didn't read all your post. It seems to me that Destiny has been restricted in what it can do because the ps3 and 360 can not handle the data required. Things like vault space and menus have got massive issues (menus taking too long to display your gear etc) and from what I u derstand it's been restricted so that the older platforms can cope with it. So making the decision to cater for the more advanced systems is logical. However what they really need to do now is make this game completely backwards compatible so that people who upgrade their old console to the newer consoles don't have to shell out $$$$/ €€€€/ ££££ to continue playing their games. I totally agree that they shouldn't make everything prior to y3 irrelevant as they did for y2. That was a bs decision and frankly bordering on illegal. If you can't (or don't want to) upgrade your playing system you shouldn't be punished for it.

Get pregnant Give birth Times that struggle by 10 That's how hard it is to add more dlcs to old gen

The weight of your heresy will stay your feet, and you shall be left behind...

Editado por Brandon: 6/10/2016 10:23:30 AMYes,you are. Problem? The game is becoming something that old gen consoles can't handle. Don't be surprised that it can't fit into 512mb of RAM anymore...

1 RespuestaCall Bernie, he'll hook you up.
-
Bye bye. Also, they don't need to "give you an explanation". Technology advances. Anyone that has common sense and has been living in the modern world should realise that. Old technology gets left behind, that's just how it is.

11 RespuestasSee tbh, I played on 360 for a long time. It's dead on 360. Hardly anyone plays and the only people you face in crucible are mexicans.
-
As someone who was with lastgen till TTK i honestly wished it got left behind from the start. Lastgen hardware and supporting it only holds gaming back and anyone who complains just because they cant afford an upgrade is honestly selfish. I played a 360 for 2 years after the ones went live and the whole time i had wished they would of left lastgen behind already. With companies heavily supporting lastgen so much theres near no incentive for casual players to upgrade and its doing nothing but holding gaming back for everyone because developers try to give a equal experience across all platforms. It also takea away recourses that could be put towards currentgen hardware. The ps2 and original xbox by this point in the 360 and ps2 life cycle were already weened out completely and these consoles are dead by this point. Promoting and supporting old hardware is a horrible idea.
-
I'm stunned it was ever on 360/PS3 to begin with, honestly.

A certain slipknot song comes to mind

1 RespuestaIn Bungie defense- you knew you would eventually upgrade your console. So you shouldve been preparing. In your defense- Destiny should be cross-buy because re-buying a game and all its dlc is bullshit.
-
-
Long time coming. Given that D2 will likely not drop until Fall 2017, this will allow Bungie to develop higher quality content with far fewer limitations. This happens after every new system is launched, but people will continue to complain.
-
You've had 3 years to upgrade. No one to blame but yourself.
-
-
Yes.. thank God. . And seeyaround
-
-
Why didn't you just save and buy a new console? You've had like 2 years. This was always coming, can't see how it is a shock to some folk. And you obviously enjoy this game as you have come on the forums and have written a short story along with playing over 25 days worth of time.
-
Grow up child they are not taking a damn thing from you... They just aren't wasting resources

The whole idea of the game is to be a commercial success and make money hand over fist. This is what businesses try to do , make a profit. That's a basic premise of all business NOT just Bungie. Look at Microsoft phasing out win 95, 97 etc, and bringing out updated new op systems. It's called progress whether we like it or not.
