Court of Oryx can be awesome...
...when you have a random group of Guardians all working together and helping each other.
I have stopped by off and on since the update and today was awesome. I arrived just as 2 others did and it was basically a wave here, a bow there and let's whip some a$$. We each ran our antiquated ruins and it was like we had been talking the whole time. No fighting over the sword, no rushing up before we dropped him, etc.
In the mean time 3 other Guardians joined the fray. It was great. 30 minutes later my inventory was full and the ground was littered with orbs, ammo and engrams.
Well played random group....well played.
Edit: Thanks for all the feedback. It is great to hear that many of us have had fun experiences at the CoO, but clearly it is often a hit or miss scenario.

Yep , I play it from time to time with about 4 or 5 mates , we all drop in simultaneously as individuals , and see if any of us have been dropped in the same instance , if that happens everyone else joins on 1 or the other of those guys and we have 2 fireteams of 3 . Every now and then a random will join and think it's their lucky day 😃

yeap got 5 335 artifacts, went into patrol solo there was one guy there, 3 more turned up, we all helped each other smash out runes for about an hour! none of my mates play anymore so i thought id never get artefacts but wooooo random patrols work better than lfg on here haha

4 RespuestasThe court of Oryx is one of the best designed things in destiny. It acts a lot like the loot cave where you will find tons of people together trying to get as many drops as possible. There's little infighting and most people develop a rune dropping order that allows everyone to get the things they are trying to get. There is also a plethora of good manners (people waving when they arrive/leave, sticking around to help out others even if they have finished what they we're trying to get done) it just works very well. I really like it

12 RespuestasI was literally going to make a post just like this. Yesterday I had 4 other Guardians helping out, we did like 4 Antiquated Runes (which is mini Crota), clearly none of these guys had ever done Crota, they were downing him before the sword even spawned in! So yeah, I picked up the sword every time and we actually manages to kill him in 1 sword most of the time. We must've done over 30 Runes just then.... Definitely one of the most fun things I've done since the April update.

I just wish they would increase the stolen and antiquated runes drop rate while you're doing CoO. That would motivate people to keep doing CoO. I have gone trough 15 reciprocal runes, by myself, without a single stolen rune drop. Also, i have gone through 6 stolen runes(that's just counting mine) without a single antiquated rune drop. Is so frustrating to find a bunch of people there and only have reciprocal runes in your inventory lol.

When you get in there with one or two guys that know their business it's great. Ironically, it's harder with more people. I usually end up with some fool that takes the sword on fake Crota and then doesn't know what to do with it.

I make it a point to always stop by CoO on Patrol in the Dreadnaught. About 1/5 times there's some action there.

Yup, did it last night for about 30 mins with an assortment of different guardians, doing all 3 tiers. Was lots of fun

5 RespuestasIf only there was good stuff to drop from the tier 3 bosses besides artifacts and blues. I think it would be quite interesting to have tier 3 bosses have a chance to drop exclusives (like strike exclusives) would make the CoO viable for end game.

1 RespuestaI've had good, bad, and hilariously awful experiences in there. Mostly it's a blast. Today a hunter kept suiciding, even on his own runes! I had to take down the shield and use the sword as well, but w/e. I think maybe it was an actual kinderguardian...? Lol. They deserve artifacts too!

it really is a blast when a bunch are there and I've never filled up the postmaster so fast random cooperation is a lot better than the forums typically portray it

It's either a ghost town or a lot of fun. I do wish the reward system was a little better everyone should get stuff and the ruin user should get more but still is a blast

4 RespuestasI got my 335 artifact doing this, I tried using people off the forum and it was the worse experience. Playing with randoms was more fun. Did 2 hrs worth of CoO and left with plenty of engrams. At 1 point had 9 people working together.

4 RespuestasAwesome part of the game, great place to meet and fight together. Since this thread is doing well, a suggestion. A number of comments deal with how noobs detract from the experience due to their lack of strategy knowledge. How about some of you experienced Guardians expanding the thread into a "this is how to do it" for the different scenarios? Let's make a good thing better!

Hopefully the court is a sample of things to come. Patrol and the game in general being about this would be great. The game would finally be what it was advertised.

I played with a good group earlier, we flew through every tier, took turns and everything, I played till they all ran out of runes, barely put a dent in mine... At one point we were all standing in front of Crotas fanboy, just disagreeing, it was hilarious...
