Bothered by no avatars on the thread list?[iOS]
There is a temporary, slightly inconvenient method to get around this. Simply attach your avatar as a picture so people can recognise who the poster is!
Of course this has downsides if you want to attach another picture or otherwise but it may be a nice touch of familiarity.

This isn't even about being "stuck in our ways" or "unwilling to adapt". This thumbnail idea is just incredibly visually unappealing and provides the user with nothing. It's a change for the sake of change. Not a change that expands our usability of the site. And in the process.. it removes an element that WAS in fact a useful part of the site. Just... -blam!-ing bleh.

Eh. If a thread looks interesting enough, I'll enter regardless of an avatar. Plus 1 in 5 people have the same avatars anyway [not including ninjas, mentors, moderators, etc].
