Does anyone know if you apply a vanguard booster would it give more rep when you donate to your faction? I know it does when doing activities, but would it boost it when donating materials?

I've just started one and my question is how often did you forget to equip the shader when doing strikes? So far I have forgotten about 50% of the time :(
