Doctrine of Passing, nerf it into the ground
I am sick of this bloody gun, can no one use anything else? If you don't play or like trials, then you will never have this gun and will never be able to compete against people that do have it. Bring on year three and throw this gun under a bus so we never see it again.
Edit: Nice to know half drunk me was unaware of how butt hurt he was, to clarify for him:
The doctrine is powerful outside it's effective range which sets is apart as the go to gun, it can still be countered sure but nerfing the range is all that needs to be done, the damage really isn't the issue.
Year 3 will however reset the meta which will be a welcome change.

3 RespuestasThe problem is not that type of auto it is specifically the doctrine. They hand out a -blam!-ing laser beam, 3 stability perks is way too much. Why dont any of the other trials weapons have god rolls? No rifled barrel on the hand cannon, or max stability on the pulse rifle??? No doctrine gets 3 stability perks tho.

4 RespuestasBefore anyone replies with something stupid or smart to say, just know that i had never posted on forums about nerfs, not even once. Normally people cry to nerf a gun just because they constantly get killed by it. I'm here to state my opinion on a unbalanced gun. The Doctrine is currently a unbalanced gun. It needs a simple fix to its "Range" not damage. High RoF auto rifles should put out alot of damage, but lack in range. However that's not the case for The Doctrine. While recently playing in the crucible, I've come to realize how bs the gun's range is. Now damage was never the problem as other guns have equal damage output, but the problem is that the gun can easily perform just as well or even better than pulse/scouts rifles at ranges that should exceed it's limits as a high RoF Auto rifle. A person with PVP experience and common sense should understand this, but people like to argue the fact because they use the gun as a crutch. So like I previously said, a simple fix to the gun's range would definitely help to better balance things. It's a fair fix. The gun won't be ineffective, it will balanced to its proper weapon archetype.

Buff other ARs is the solution. Stop nerfing things. We already have a veyr limited amount of usable primary weapons. Nerfing them even further just means more complaints about snipers and shotguns, as you continue to nerf the things that counter them.

If you get killed by a high rate of fire auto rifle at long range the problem is not the gun but you suck for getting beat by it, it doesn't make the gun OP I use the DoP all the time and get my ass beat by people who have better gun skill then me Everyone that cries about a gun being OP is just trash

Doctrine is only unbalanced when it has range boosting perks its completely fine otherwise. (And i dont even use the thing)

You're joking right? Please tell me you're joking. If you can't get a doctrine then just aim for a soulstealer they are pretty much the same gun.

I actually just had a idea from reading your title. It side tracked my from actually teading your post(sorry) But my idea is to drop that 100 rate of fire archtype of auto rifle and create a whole new weapon type that actually acts like a real lazer beam. Like the sentinel guns from halo 3.
