So you are not saying it's broken, just that you do not like how it works with the revive changes? The devs changed revives to make them a little more challenging to perform. Before you could just run through reviving as you passed. Now you have to be a little more tactical about when you choose to revive someone. The Exotics do still knock off the same amount of time, which can be very useful. I can let the devs know that you prefer the old way of revives more. Thanks for sharing your feedback. For anyone else, feel free to share if you agree with OP that the old way of revives are better, or you prefer the new way.

  • The best solution I can think of is to increase res distance when wearing Crest or Warlock equivalent.

    cozmo i like u dont get me wrong but when ur playing skrimish or trials or even pve it tends to get abit annoying when it takes super long to res someone i like to revive my teammates and not get downed wearing my alpha lupi

  • An excellent compromise to this would be to increase revive range when wearing Crest. The timer decrease given by Crest would still be effective if the range was large enough for you to still walk/strafe thru a revive. Leave it the way it is, try increasing Crest's revive range, and see how that works.

  • The old way was just fine for PvE in a tight moment in a hard nightfall those exotics were a big help now they feel useless waste of an exotic slot. I am a PvE player but I do dabel in PvP when I want something from it. But as said in the sandbox update twitch reveal 'we want it to be smooth to go from PvP to pve' It is not. I can hit a PvP opponent with a hammer and get a kill I can shoot a player with golden gun once and get a kill. But in PvE it takes half to a whole super to take out a low level major mob. I understood the fix to keep a sunbreaker from spamming hammers by smashing all the buttons and to fix the nightstalker glitch with quiver and shade step and ghost in PvP. All quite understandable. But constantly changing stuff for PvP is unbalancing PvE now. It's getting to be clear to some there is no smooth going between PvP and PvE. That there needs to be a separation between PvP and PvE in the next Destiny.

  • I agree with original poster when it comes to PvE. I have seen people leave just because I took longer to revive them in strikes. Heck it happen like 2 or 3 hrs before this writing. I use to use Alpha Lupi before on harder strikes to keep the flow moving but now, lets say there may be more wait time then previously. As far as PvP; I love where its at. Its discussions like this that really make you wonder if it's time to move towards a split between PvP and PvE. There needs are such polar opposites. Maybe you can pass that on to the teams and include a, lets not go for the Easy button and make everything one and the same. Put the work in it and try to make both worlds there own.

Though the exotic is not so much 'broken' in itself, perhaps the point I should have stressed on more (since the changes were intentional, and I understand why after making this post.) is how it's position in PvE is broken. PvE players can't rely on the Alpha Lupi. In the heat of the moment, it is not fun to use anymore. It's overshadowed by other exotics. The points I made in the OP were more leaned toward the PvE aspect, since I wasn't even aware of it's abuse in PvP.

  • The change makes sense for pvp, not so much for pve. cutting down revive times kinda makes it pointless to equip said exotics..the original point(at least for me and my fireteam) was the overall risk reduction.

  • He's not saying that the new revives are bad, but that Alpha Lupi should negate said changes entirely. Thus, wearing Alpha Lupi allows everything it used to allow, making it all the more valuable in a heated game.

  • With the changes you've made to revives, revive sniping (one of the most frustrating things in this game) has only gotten stronger. I feel like now if you successfully pull off a revive, the revived guy should be able to start moving (not shooting) before the invincibility frames wear off. If the sniper isn't able to put down the reviver before they get the revive off, they should be punished by increasing the difficulty of the revive snipe.

  • Also let them know that we preferred how armors like Crest of Alpha Lupi and Light Beyond Nemesis allowed us to make massive amounts of orbs too, like they did in Y1. We do not like Y2 orb restriction or Y2 orb super energy nerf. We play in a fireteam because we synergize the skills of our fellow guardians. This is one feature that makes Destiny's gameplay entirely unique when compared to other shared world shooters out there right now, and it was really fun for party play. And yet, the dev's decided to nerf it without any explanation? That is not good decision making. You can gather up 7-8 orbs or more and not even get back a full super bar's worth of super energy. I think it would be best if they just revert this game mechanic back to Y1. Don't "fix" what isn't broken.

  • I think he more of wants the crest to be able to revive the way it did before the April update. Dont change default reviving change crest like maybe. Crest of Alpha Lupi Increase revive radius decrease revive timer and time Drop additional orb on super use

  • I am with the OP on this one. Revives should be back to sprint past and res with the change to shields that newly rezzed person is dead meat and more super energy for me. I think that the exotic to truly feel exotic should be very close if not the same feel as it was before the changes. Otherwise I like the changes as a base point. I also agree with a lot of the points in the comment section here where people have asked for separation of PVE and PVP. Having done some rudimentary coding I realize that may not be completely feasible now but it has to be something built into the game for destiny 2. I am weird in that I like both PvP and PVE, but the changes that bring balance in one often unbalance the other, and thus it should be addressed separately. Also please stop with stealth changes. After the last update I watched as the 1kys did less damage than it did before the update. A 320 1kys did 11k on a level 41 knight before the most recent sniper nerf and now does 10k to the same enemies. Maybe this was an unintended mistake with the changes but seriously it was the weapon y'all were making changes to how do you not test or acknowledge that it happened in the patch notes. Rant over. If you read this far thanks Cosmo that is all we can ask of you.

    It seams to me there is a thick headed stance on keeping pvp and pve the same "feel".. We the people wish it to be separated.. We are not knocking you, we just don't feel the same as you.. All the nerfs that have been complained about are because of pvp.. If you don't mess with pve you will get a ton less complaints.! I used to use lots of different stuff because it would help out in areas that the team is lacking in.. Now I just use the same boring stuff over and over, when something gets nurffed I switch to the new go to and it starts all over.. I also used to play all the time, it was so fun when crazy unexpected stuff happens because so many different things were being used.. So instead of 6000 hours of play, I only have 3800. But what do I know..

  • Dude you have spent the lifetime of several small mammals in the game. "Only" 3,800 is an INSANE amount of time. If you're bored maybe it's because you have played too much rather than the game being "boring". Being oiled up in a pool of chocolate with Shyla Stylez would get boring after than duration (not to mention pretty sore)

  • There was nothing wrong with revives. Please tell the devs to stop fixing what isn't broken. You know with each nerf it leads to other nerfs, etc. Until the end point will be that everything in Destiny is mediocre. We aren't quite there yet be we aren't far off.
