I'm gonna keep this short and simple, because the legend of Gjallarhorn is a very, very special subject for many of us.
It is probably the MOST POWERFUL weapon to ever exist in this game, hands down, bar none.
It was nerfed, as all fated OPs are, *AND* left behind, similar to Thorn.
However, with the April Update, Bungie Employees have weighed in on the subject of the "next gjallarhorn" weapon. A piece of gear so powerful, it dwarfs all others. How to implement into the game, while not making all other heavies obsolete.
One of DeeJ's direct quotes are :
"...Hopefully there will be another Gjallarhorn in Destiny's future, whether it's the actual Year Two Gjallarhorn or a spiritual successor.”
While not an absolute, confirmed re-release, we know the official crew is on board for it. It's being talked about, actively. Chopped and weighed on the Development Team.

Shout out to Alan @MoreConsole for updating me on this.

4 RespuestasWho cares? Heavy weapons aren't that useful anymore. In Crota's End sure, but now... It's Black Spindle and Touch of Malice that's 'required' for the King's Fall raid. Bring it back if they want. I don't care. It was overused and overhyped anyway.

2 RespuestasI wouldn't mind if Ghorn came back. Or a number of other Y1 guns for that matter. EVERYBODY misses their fatebringer/VoC etc. Why? Not just b/c they were the best due to their perks & burns. But b/c they were RELEVANT! Y1 = orbit if the team wiped on NF. Y1 had the necessary "grind" to be a 30, 32, 34. The guns of Y1 were tools that you became EXCITED about that helped make the game fun and just a little easier. "Easier" is being used loosely here. B/c you still had to "grind" for that special something. Something so far, Y2 is really missing. Sure, you could play countless undying mind strikes for that specific roll on imago loop I suppose. But there was that extra something with your team of 6 when somebody got that special gun/armour. This past week, while I and a number of teammates had fun. We are left w/a WTH feeling?! I'm a 334 on all 3 characters already for crying out loud?! I'm not bragging. But feel a little disappointed. I know I had the luck of RNG here. The point is, there was no grind/discipline to obtain it. They just dropped?! While this past NF was actually difficult for a change and had a blast playing it! (And the rewards were actually REWARDS) The PoE 42 was too easy. I feel/hope that bungie has given us a "free" week. Kind of like that first week of HoW for weapons to drop more frequently. For in the near future. I for one am looking forward to that "challenge"!! And the grind to obtain! I know that the 42 PoE can be made far more difficult in the future. I and a number of my team are looking forward to that "Skolas post burn" fun of the game please.

1 RespuestaOf course they hope they can make another weapon as iconic as the Gjallarhorn. But really, given their current decision making and design choices it's not going to happen. They are avoiding making powerful weapons like the plague. To have one emerge like the gjallarhorn had it inherently has to be far more powerful than anything else in it's class, to that end the sandbox team won't allow it. Cute words from Deej, too bad they are empty.
-
Why don't they just get rid of tracking? This will make you aim and use it more wisely.
-
1 RespuestaAh, the good old days when the only gun required for everything was the mighty Gjallarhorn. I remeber week 1 PoE melting Skolas with it. Good times.
-
There's NOTHING like Gjallarhorn! Except Y2 Gjallarhorn! Their going to have to bring back Gjallarhorn to save Destiny! I remember getting my first Gjallarhorn, it was in crucible, Rahool was like forget it! Shaxx was like: here you go guardian, use it well! :D. It was beautiful!

Editado por STARSIDE DESTINY: 4/19/2016 7:42:12 PMHe doesn't literally mean "there will be another weapon as powerful as Gjallarhorn in Year 2". Instead, he is saying that there will hopefully be another gun in Destiny that creates as much buzz, hype, and excitement as Gjallarhorn did throughout all of Year 1. This is also what Bungie meant when they said "Sleeper Simulant will be the new Gjallarhorn." Of course it isn't as ridiculously powerful as Gjallarhorn, but it was designed with the intent of motivating the community to all chase a cool weapon, which, despite the ultimate disappointment of the time gate, they succeeded at doing. Basically, you shouldn't get your hopes up for another must-have, game-breaking gun like Gjallarhorn, because Bungie is strictly avoiding creating such guns in Year 2.

Probably coming in the fall "update" Whether that's an expansion or only an update, E3 will most likely give us the answer.

5 RespuestasBoy year two players just don't know man. Used to be a team wouldn't even look at you if you didn't have gally. You think that the "Must be 315+ with ToM" post where bad? You just don't even know.
-
Ghorn When the Ultima spell and a hell fire missile have a baby The 2nd most beautiful gun to Hawk moon
-
3 RespuestasThis is total click-bait. The article mentions NOTHING about gally in year 2....."another gally" is not gally.
-
Having another gjallarhorn doesn't necessarily mean another weapon named gjallarhorn but instead a very powerful weapon.
-
The reason it didn't move forward was because people where excluding others for a certain gun. Similar to touch of malice for oryx. Touch of malice isn't bad because the only real use is oryx and daughters, meanwhile it was gally for everything. If they bring a rocket like gally back then Bungie is more retarded than we thought
-
They said Sleeper Simulant was going to be the spiritual successor. And we all know how that turned out.
-
3 RespuestasIf they bring it back, they should lower its drop rate as compared to other exotics and make it unobtainable from Engrams or Blueprints. This would make it truly feel powerful or rare and you couldn't just grind for it as it'd drop far less. Or maybe they should give an exotic quest for it.

Im wet as jam

Screw y2 gjallarhorn. I want year 2 VoG and Crota end (no cheese)
-
2 RespuestasThis game needs a super weapon Something really really difficult to get But once you have it you are complete in life!!
-
3 Respuestas"...whether it's the actual Year Two Gjallarhorn or a spiritual successor...” You know that exotic Rocket Launcher in the database and said something about volleys or something? Here you go. "...a spiritual successor..."
or you know, both.
-
2 RespuestasI mean I get why people don't want it. It becomes a requirement for everything to have a max gjallarhorn, and some people just can't obtain it. And I get that it can make other guns seem useless. For me tho I'm on board because it was cool to have that one gun that everyone wanted and it kept me playing the game. Plus a lot of exotics don't feel exotic enough atm.
-
the no's are just year 2 kinder guardians
-
I just want my VoC back. Since year 2 I haven't had a #1 go-to primary. I can go without Gjallarhorn and Icebreaker.
-
This site is always a b8
-
It is so powerful that even after nerf it only takes 2 shot to down crota while truth takes 3 shot.
-
2 RespuestasAs someone who had both IB and gally, I never understood how people chose gally. You definitely had better dps and never had to worry about ammo, with the IB. I guess people just didn't like having to aim.
-
Remember when you needed gally AND icebreaker for VoG? And xur barely sold either...no 3 of coins to help you...
