Dear Bungie and Destiny community;
I know that bungie has some policies and rules for players to follow that are either laid back, strict, or are hard to understand. I know these rules have been made in order for the community to stay together which is completely reasonable, but the "name shaming" rule needs to change or at least have reports investigated thoroughly. There are casual players in Destiny who want to play the game and enjoy the rewards, basically for the time and effort put into the game. Unfortunately some players like to "cheat", "ddos attack", "glitch", or "lag switch" which causes casual players to lose out on their chances of reaping better rewards. (For example: Lighthouse for Trials, Iron Banner gear, ect.)
If there is proof that a player within the community is cheating then they should be shamed for doing so. Why should the rest of the community suffer from multiple teams of cheaters? Why should cheaters be allowed to play, if they are ruining the game for other? All because name shaming is against the rules? Reports should be investigated more thoroughly and taken more serious. It shouldn't require multiple reports for a player to be investigated. Not everyone takes the time to report players who cheat. I know some will say "someone is salty" or "you mad bro?" and honestly to an extent I am, but I know I'm not the only one in the community who feels this way.
Cosmo I hope you take the time to read this, but I won't hold my breath.
EDIT: Thank you everyone for the feedback, I honestly now see and understand a bit clearer why the name shaming policy is active.
Is there a way to take this post down lol I have a better understanding of why name shaming is against the coc.

Disagreed. Shaming would destroy innocent people IRL. The Internet is a dangerous place. Unless you want to see a new age Salem witch trials, don't throw that idea around as if it actually makes sense. Some people just want to watch the world burn.

I agree. If I were a business, name shaming would be applauded and encouraged

2 RespuestasIt's like.. if you give these forums information about a specific player you're bound to attract all sorts of ridiculous behavior to that person. All sorts of b8, bad inbox messages, shitty comments, and an overall change in atmosphere that these forums do not exist for. Plus, you're going off of word of mouth from some guy angrily posting about how he has been cheated out of his closest flawless run yet by "hax".
Just an example lol
2 RespuestasTrolls would have a field day with name shaming.

3 RespuestasI can quickly tell you one good reason name shaming is off limits. Let's say I don't like player X. I know him irl and just hate him. Or, maybe I don't know him at all, and I'm just a douche. Both cases work for this. So, I come onto the forums and shame the hell out of this guy. 5-10 of my friends post, backing me up. Now this guy has a bad rep and gets booted from any group he joins. Why? What did the guy do? NOTHING. Just a smear campaign by salty or stupid people can ruin a game for damn near anyone.
