Dark Zone Problems

Lately the Dark Zone is not much fun for players who are new lvl 30's trying to raise their DZ rank, earn DZ funds & Phoenix credits and extract loot. Players with all high end gear, high dps, high health and electronics go into the DZ with the sole purpose of getting easy kills and will go rogue for hours. Many will argue that this is the point of the game- that you can't trust anyone in the DZ. Once you get a group of noob killers in there it's no question. They'll go rogue and continue to do so as long as they can find weaker players in the DZ. Hunting rogues or going rogue in between killing bosses and extracting is what I and all of my friends expected and enjoyed. Now inevitably it degenerates to a non-stop rogue chaos. Any other activities become impossible. I don't think this is good for the game. A lot of newer players have given up on the dark zone, do the dailies and log off. It also increases the gulf between the haves and have nots. You can't purchase high end DZ gear without DZ rank 50. It'll take players longer to get good enough gear to play incursions. Don't be surprised when the same players who go non stop rogue after weaker geared players end up kicking everyone out of their incursion team whose gear is even slightly lower than their own. http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1428777-Dark-Zone-griefing-Forums

  • FYI after the 12th every hour on the hour the DZ is going to be lit up with rogues trying to get their hands on the HE gear in the Supply Drops

    • The Division (like Destiny) shouldn't have to cater to people who don't put time into it. I haven't put a lot of time into the game, and if I aggro some players, I'm going to get what's coming. I run around in DZ06 all the time solo for Division Tech, and I actively avoid players AND NPCs. If you're not a complete moron, you won't be around groups of players. If you're at an extraction and a team shows up, they WILL ruin your day, so find another extraction. Sorry you have to be smarter than the conflict and have snap decision making, but that's how the DZ works.

        • Ran into a group where there were like 12 rogues. None of them were killing each other they were spawn camping and killing any stragglers ... It was disgusting . I imagine they have tiny penisis and were so tired of getting wrecked in their butt holes that they teamed up and decided 12v 4 or 12v 2 is ... Fun...

          • They need a darkzone reputation system put in place. Sort of a insanity tracker. Have a system where if someone is going rogue constantly over a period of time, they become marked "insane" for a while. During this insanity cool down, players can do everything as they have been except, all other agents will see a symbol above their head marking them insane. During this time any agent can kill the insane player without consequences and without being marked rogue. This would allow players to have the advantage over rogues after a while. Because atm rogues have the advantage of striking first and surprising their targets. This would greatly even out the DZ without making it unfair to either agents, rogue or non rogue.

              • Last time my 2 friends and I played the division, it was mind-numbingly boring. Just constant running from place to place, clearing the adds from this place, avoiding players, getting meh loot, extracting, repeat. I don't even have a full purple loadout, but we've all just lost the will to keep playing.

              • You can try logging out and back in to be in a different server. Or try and form a group of your own, in my experience rogues won't attack a group. I mainly play solo in DZ (most my friends play other games) and I honestly, don't have too much trouble. If I get into a fight with a group that's just spawn killing ow whatever, I'll just log out and back in.

                    • Come the April 12th patch there will be a bracket that divides gear levels. So you shouldn't run into people horribly over geared compared to you.

It's funny because these are probably people that will abuse an OP weapon or and easy to use weapon in any other PvP game, and when called out will say something along the lines of "don't tell me how to play the game I paid for!" However, when they have the opportunity like this, they will ruin a game for anyone they can. Simply because they can. DZ is such a cool concept but allows too much opportunity for abuse. I'm sure a big group of players camping in front of the safe zone doors is not how Ubisoft intend the DZs to turn into. I kind of saw it coming the moment I heard about what the DZs were going to be. IMO there should be a reputation system. The more you go rouge the worse your reputation becomes and it is publicly displayed to anyone around you. With a lower reputation someone else would be able to put more damage into you before they are marked as rouge if you aren't already. The problem I have is that the rouge player has the advantage because he will always get the first shots in. In the alpha I had a player shoot at me, so naturally I shot back, but because he had shitty aim my shots connected first and I became rouge.

I tend to farm by the safe house near the library I use the balcony for cover if it gets to bad that library corner has patrols from each end of the street then there's the enemies at the library itself and another group in the little park area just south west of the safe house

                            • If you dont wanna deal with rouges dont go to DZ 1-4. Rouges look for easy kills and run from a real fight. In DZ 5-6 the npc enemies are strong enough to kill a player which is why rouges avoid hunting players in those zones.

                                • Griefing like this is always a problem in MMO-RPG games where there is unbalanced PVP mixed with PVE. More powerful players bully weaker players, and prevent them from playing the PVE part of the game. Ubisoft heard, and with the next patch will start separating level 30 players int he DZ by Gear Score. There will be one instance for players with a Gear Score of 163 (essentially all level 30 HE, IIRC) and another instance for level 30 players with gears scores greater than 163. So now fresh level 30s can go into the DZ and start to gear up without having to worry about getting ganked by max-gear score trolls, who are just looking to shoot someone, and aren't even interested in anything you actually have on you. The are also lowering the rank level necessary to get gear. You can buy Purples from vedors at Rank 15 (I think) Level 30 HEs and prints at level 25. Level 31s at Rank 40....and Blueprints will then be sold for DZ credits rather than end-game Phoenix credits.

                                • As it is now, I don't even pick anything up. My only purpose is to gain XP to buy the gear I need. Rogues are faggy douches and they'll get nothing from me.

                                  • Lol as someone who goes rogue often, as well as plays solo often I love how many rogues there are now. With the 60k xp loss punishment people are far more willing to shoot one another. Here's the thing, if your a fresh thirty, in a group or solo it isn't hard to avoid rogues or figure out who's about to go rogue. If your extracting, and 4 guys arrive with no gear on their back, you should probably be ready to pop a defense buff. However, you shouldn't take off running either. To a rogue, that's like blood in the water for a shark. If your solo, and just killed a boss, and a group of 4 helped you. Be ready to sprint through areas with tons of objects. Watch your map, it indicates the approximate location of current rogues. Read names of "players killed" and by who. Chances are, they'll rogue up again. Play with high level friends. I carry my friends all the time. I still have a blast. Find a build that works for you. My fun tripled when I turned into a pure tech build. That's my advice anyway. Also, you can easily run challenge mission like lexington in 10-15 minutes and get credits easily to buy decent gear, then just farm the materials around new york. The material farm is fast and easy and can boost you to be on part with most of the DZ peops

                                    • Well that's just the way it is. It's people who have grinded the most and fastest and got everything they "need" and now their going Rogue to more or less "relieve" the monotony that is endgame. I'm sure it'll change, whenever new content comes out (for a time, then the process repeats.) But in 1.1 they are splitting up max lvl 30's and lower level 30's. So I'm thinking that should also help.
