All this to do over selling armor, and I can't help but chuckle when I hear the reasons why.
Reason 1.
'' Players will have an advantage over me.''
'' What advantage? ''
'' They will be able to repurchase rolls like intellect, etc.''
'' And how does that guarantee an automatic win in whatever activity you are participating in, aren't rolls fit merely to playstyles?''
'' Well...uh....well.....( Derp face )
Reason 2.
'' Players will be able to purchase faction rep boosts.''
'' Well aren't most Destiny players already at least rank 2 with one respective faction? And isn't it rank 2 when you are finally able to purchase armor for Legendary marks? What possible advantage would these boosters have for them if they are already ranked one measly slot?''
'' Well...uh..well....( Derp face )
Reason 3.
'' It should be earned in game.''
'' So in other words, paying for a game with '' Earned money '' does not entitle one to enjoy it. In other words it's perfectly ok for one to have received Ghorn in year one the first week because they '' Earned it.'' from a lucky rng drop, but for others who didn't, they should have to wait eight months so they could say it was '' Earned.''
'' Well...uh...well...( Derp face )
And here is the real kicker. People who are actually upset about this, even though we have had boosters in gaming for twenty years, but are perfectly ok with console exclusivity.
'' Contractual obligations. If it means that much to you just buy it.''
Lol, lol.
Am I the only one that sees the incredible double standard at play here?
Is one honestly going to sit there and tell me that ps4 players didn't get a massive increase in their kd's over their respective X1 counterparts due to the use of Hawkmoon in it's prime?
Even if you want to say it's negligible, according to your argument against, you have to at least admit it's possible. Hence pay to win.
Same with Jade Rabbit now. How do I know my performance would not increase substantially if I had it on X1 the same as a player who PAID for it on ps4?
Getting the picture yet?
Quit crying about nothing. And quit being hypocritical.
Whenever someone poses a thought too detailed for smaller minded people to handle. '' Engage idiot comment.''
Edit.
Some people are getting the wrong idea here. Perhaps it's my fault for giving my contemporaries too much credit. So forgive me, and allow me to explain in simpleton terms.
I'm not suggesting that console exclusivity is pay to win. I don't think it is. Let me repeat, I don't think it is. What I am doing is turning the argument of pay to win detractors against itself, by pointing out pay to win doesn't exist. Because If I can make an argument that console exclusivity is pay to win, and I can under their definition, that would mean everything is pay to win, and if everything is pay to win, then nothing is. Understand? In other words, if the perception is real, that makes it real, regardless of truth. When in actuality, these are subjective opinions, not real in game results. Opinions derived from elitist gamer's who believe everything should be earned while playing, and in thinking so, have created this mysterious boogyman known only as '' Pay to win.''
It's terms and conditions so vague and ambiguous, any purchased item can be deemed so. From the innocent solo player booster, to the dreaded specific rolled weapon. Pay to win does not discriminate. Spread throughout the gaming world to protect perceived in game elite status, and snowflake syndromes.
It's whole entire basis ridiculous and moot, in and of itself.
second edit.
Let me try and elaborate one last time.
The '' Pay to win '' mentality is a road to nowhere. Why? Because the definition itself is all encompassing. If I purchase a title before someone else does, I have an advantage, If I purchase a pre order bonus, I have an advantage, If I purchase a solo player booster, I have an advantage, If I purchase sterling boxes, I have an advantage, If I purchase a season pass, I have an advantage, If I purchase a box and it has a roll I like that fits a playstyle, not and in game result, I have an advantage, If I purchase console exclusives, I have an advantage, if I purchase an expansion like HOW, and someone else doesn't, I have an advantage. Basically if I step outside my front door and have money in my hand, I have an advantage.
It's like trying to argue the wind blows. It's the darkness reaching out to the darkness.
Final edit.
If the post is dying or dead, then disregard this. If there are those that still desire to post, bear in mind I will not debate you. My thinking runs contrary to popular opinion. The reason being obvious, if one is told enough times a thing is a certain way, that thing becomes and unspoken truth. In any case, every scenario and argument made has been addressed. If you are making the same one as others, simply scroll down to see the retorts.
At some point it becomes akin to arguing the existence of Santa Claus with a child. '' Well those presents had to come from somewhere right? '' In a sense arguing with yourself. And I have not the time, nor the patience to keep making the same arguments with a hundred different people.
However, I thank everyone who participated, and for providing lively but respectful debate.

52 RespuestasOp we had the discussion already, so this is for everyone reading this thread. If you buy rep boosters, you will get more packages the someone who plays the same amount of time as you. More packages means more loot, more loot means a higher chance of good rolls on said loot, and better rolls on your stuff gives you an advantage over someone with the same stuff with bad rolls. I In pay to win games you don't pay wins out right. You by things that give you an advantage over those that did not. While this change is NOT pay to win IMO, it is taking us closer, which I see as cause for concern.
