Real year ones don't reset characters and boost stats because you're afraid of what mlg wanna-be hipster kids might think of your f'n k/d.
Real year 1's don't give 2 apple farts about what gun and subclasses an unemployed begging streamer uses, because we learned (about 20 nerfs/buffs ago) to use whatever the hell our thumbs tell us feels right.
Real year 1 players wear the earlier days troubles AND our stats like an f'n badge of honor.
Don't f'n talk about the originals here, unless you are one.
If you're a year one player and you've reset for that reason, then youre not a scrub....
.... your a SCRATCH.
And yes , we can tell who you are.
Since we're on the subject (and I'm blinded by rage) what else defines REAL year 1rs?
Edit: Great responses people. I'm really digging the individual stories about your history with your characters.
To those who remember resetting for VOG and CE runs, I got no issue with that as it was a real struggle to reach that max.
Edit 2: spartaboy777 said it best and really captured what I mean, but with a bit more eloquence.
For those of you that are year 2, welcome. This post was in no way directed towards you.

I deleted mine for cosmetics

Beta player here: I remember within the first 10 hours of the game's release, I was just in the cosmodrome going to my next mission. All of a sudden, a hunter of the level 18 asks me, "you need help?" So I responded by inviting him. When we got to my mission, I had to run for cover because I had low health. When I got up to fight, I swear everything went slo-mo. I see the hunter slide, shotgun an enemy, throw a knife at the enemy on his right and use his golden gun and kill 5 enemies in a 360 degree turn. I was in awe.

Been playing since the beta. Never even considered deleting characters.
-
I carry my 1.08 kd proudly. Been playing since day 1

I knew this bloke from yr one, he was such a begger. At first I kinda thought he was alright, then as the yr passed he slowly turned into this kd, stats whore, that deleted all hus characters just to refresh his kd lol joke. He constantly ran for meta, had no individuality said one way me and my friends was running was wrong then in the next breath would find him streaming running as ours. He hated fusions, what did he start using!!! Ohhhh in the end this year he deleted me and 20 other connected friends, he done us all a favour really. I don't think this guy was actually well in the head and was super obsessed with destiny. I have friends of his still and he doesn't cone into games if in in them...Maybe because he has to much shame. I couldn't give a toss. I play for fun and make friends and have good fun, I try out all weapons and if it drops my kd because I'm nit in for sweats or take it to seriously, so -blam!-ing what. Judge me on my kd. I'd still fusion your arse all over the map. The end.

Year 1 true huntard free hunter
-
Day 1 player. My Main Titan has never been reset however my other two characters have. Started with Titan, Warlock and Hunter. Loved Titan though Warlock was pretty cool and hated the Hunter. Eventually decided to triple roll with Titan for easier armor gains and because I didn't have fun with the Hunter except in PvP which I didn't play much at the time. Year 2 rolled around and I wanted Tlaloc so deleted one Titan and remade a warlock. Now I'm set and won't be doing any of that again.

Editado por PickleJuice: 4/8/2016 10:44:53 AMDestiny was the first online FPS I played so that's why my kd is so bad. It started off at about 0.7 but I brought it up to positive which I'm quite proud of

Im a year one and reset my warlock to unlock the last grimoire card (race card), and to get the starting gear again, wanted to use that in crucible.
-
I reset my titan just so i can get rid of that spark of light
-
Reset twice in a week... Why? To get the freaking op gjallarhorn... At that time did 5 nightfalls, 5 crotas hard Mode, was about to give up, guess What? First run at vog, the almighty weapon dropped after killing atheon in normal Mode xD
-
Ill be bonest i started destiny and made 3 warlocks then i deleted them after a couple months and made one of each. Not really about my pvp stats as i play the game for fun.
-
Only reset my characters to do nightfall over and over again in hopes for a damn ghorn.
-
1 RespuestaLol I'm a real year one with a real character customization problem. I've had 7 different Titans, about 4 different Hunters (none now) and 5 different Warlocks... And a freaking crap load of level grinding through these two years so yeah. In short we aren't all stat boosters! P.s. This all could have been avoided if bungie would let us change what mistakes we may have made thinking something looks good in the character maker and finding out it looks like crap in the tower
-
I've reset a couple of time for purely cosmetic reasons (oh so vain lol). I couldnt even guess at my KD as I never even look at it, couldnt care less. If I take a few deaths so my team and I can win a match then so be it. :)
-
You're*
-
LOL I know some peeps that reset their character merely for cosmetic reasons... didnt like the way the face looked... fooking wear your helmet in tower I told him... nope... Its funny though Ive never reset mine though... though I could care less about this KD shit... How can you brag about KD in a HOST ADVANTAGE NOOB game like this ? If you want to be competitivein PVP play DEDICATED servers... most of the high positive KD players are getting more host advantage then other players... ITS NOT SKILL !
-
1 RespuestaI didn't like my hunters face....looked like a hybrid between a fish and a person...not a mermaid.
-
2 RespuestasA real year one played in year one. That's it. There's no other definition for it.
-
2 RespuestasUnless they delete all 3 of there characters trying to get 1.5+ kd in sbmm would be genuinely impressive. For a good player I'm in Match making for 2-4 minutes before I'm dropped into a game. Worst part of sbmm is that if theres no games my skill level it places me with players who are better.
-
A real day 1 player doesnt care about stats and k/d. He plays the game and wont brag about his or hers stats on the forums or complain about those that do.
-
who are you to say? people do what they want, if u played year 1 THAT makes u a real year one, who cares if they reset states,, u seem butthurt
-
3 RespuestasReal year 1's learned titan is the master class.
-
I reset my character after they implemented the commendations youd get from vanguard and crucible. So i had to reset to set the reputation level back to 0 so I could get commendations much faster.
-
1 RespuestaWait what's this about reset stat. on just finally downloaded the destiny app again since forever and just now started playing destiny again. What's going on?
-
4 RespuestasEVERYONE is a scrub until they've played after drinking -blam!-ing gallons every other night, viewing 0.01 k/ds the next morning, destroying their stats. If you're playing sober you're a pussy.
