Sniping is perfectly fine...
Guys, why all of the aggression and hat toward all sniper users. Snipers are not in anyway "overpowered". They have been the same ever since the game launched, till this very day. There is no reason to have let em' off before, and anger towards them now. I swear, everyone on these forums literally complains about anything, just because they get killed by it. Just because you die alot to a certain weapon or a certain weapon class doesn't make it a reason for people to complain that it is "ovepowered", just stop...

60 % of kills in trials is from snipers . 50% of them are from the gun 1k yard. I'm sorry sniping doesn't take any skill anymore. It's not hard to sit there and wait with your hidden hand+ short gaze sniper and shoot some one in the body or shoulder and it count as a headshot. So your telling me 60% of people's deaths are from snipers that's not even counting body shot switch to Tlw or doctrine . There's something wrong with the meta if that's how many people die from one gun every month.

The main problem with snipers is that there is no cost/benefit in how they are used now. Fusions have charge time, shotguns have short range, side arms require fast and accurate fire. Snipers are being used more and more as a body shot weapon and one round of primary to clean up or as a quick change weapon to get the upper hand in a losing encounter. They are not being used in a deliberate tactical way. People are charging with snipers. The biggest changes they need are slower ready and stow times, a slight delay on scoping in, and descoping after a certain amount of critical damage (more than just one round). That way they will function as a support member of the team and snipers won't be a CQB weapon anymore.

Snipers are king now because they have no counters. I hope they buff fusions hand cannons n shottys a bit to fix this.

9 RespuestasI only use snipers so please understand I'm not on the outside looking in, body shots should only take shields down. You should not be able to body shot and make somebody one shot to the point a sneeze kills them. Also this is the main issue(getting bodied while weak) that most people complain about to the contrary on what they argue about(aim assist). I hear "body shot?!" More than anything else. Also just to pre-counter the argument halo allowed this- it's not halo, in a game where power weapons are meant to be rewarding we have special weapons which are granted to us automatically(we just have to gather ammo) so it shouldn't be as abusive. One lucky snipe every blue moon < consistently cleaning up people via shooting in toes with 167 dmg

Snipers are the same but every thing else has been nerfed The only Nerf Snipers need is more flinch while being hit I hate laying into the back of a hard scoper with a Machine Gun only for him to turn around and snipe me without any problem

4 RespuestasThe tears in comments are hilarious. I agree. Snipers are fine. Sniper have never been as OP as Felwinter's Sniper (the old IB shotgun for those that don't know). Think about this for a sec. What do all the maps with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 have in common? They all encourage long range engagements. "All" of them have long lanes for ppl to camp/hardscope. The only map I can think of where a majority of ppl will use a shotgun, fusion rifle , or sidearm is Sector 618. Its small with alot of clutter. Ppl love to run around corners with shotguns on that map so you'll probably want to use one as well. There may be a handful of ppl that can pull of retarded close range snipes but there aren't many. I think if Bungie developed more maps like Sector 618, you'll see more diversity with loadouts.

Yes snipers are powerful , yes people abuse them , yes in trials 2 people only have to hit you body once each at the same time to kill you . But on the other hand , yes you know after you all die from the round that this is what they are doing so what do you keep going to where they're sniping you ? , I do think some slight adjusting should be done like maybe taking off unflinching on snipers because honestly if you get whilst looking down a sniper scope like f@ck you wouldn't flinch .

Pretty sure the increase in special usage is in large part owed to the fact that primary TTK has been significantly reduced since vanilla (correct me if I'm wrong, that's how memory serves) With primaries being slowed, special weapons become more and more prevalent. Shotguns emerged as the most effective weapons as they could consistently instant kill at auto range. As nerfs kicked in to reduce their usage, their effective area reduced, snipers became more effective. There was a point where the shotty 'kill cone' was reduced to a point that the scales of effectiveness were tipped in sniper's favour. Tl;dr: primary nerfs made shotties happen Shotty nerfs made snipers happen Buff primary TTK

you are absolutely right, as someone who uses a shotgun more than any other secondary. The problem is actually that primaries other than scouts, one type of auto, and and 1 type of pulse rifles are pretty weak at the moment, making it more enticing to use a secondary over a primary. I also think that if fusions were placed back to where they were in TDB, it would stop a lot of the sniping.

You only have to look at how many kills they have compared to any other weapon type and the desperate measures people have taken to get around the ammo nerf yo see how op they are

I'd be happy if it wasn't a 2 shot body kill. I'd settle at 3 though, snipers don't need nerfed in to the ground. Snipers should reward skilled hands who can headshot consistently

I wish I could agree since I usually only use a sniper or side arm but snipers are pretty much scout rifle accuracy right now.. shotguns are harder to use currently lol.
