Title says it all. When side arms were released in TTK, I believe they were MEANT to always have 20 rounds in it as an innate perk. Some people dont think so. Your thoughts?
Edit: My intentions with this post was to see if most people knew side arms spawn eith ammo.
The reason bring that when people talk about "the sprcial ammo exploit" they claim that side arms are circumventing that and that is considered cheating.
It is not cheating, bungie designed the gun that way and then implemented the special ammo change.
EDIT: So it looks like most people know that side arms are meant to have ammo. BUT theres a decent amount of people that think switching weapons when dead is an exploit.
From that very start of the game. . Like literally day 1, we were able to switch weapons and retain ammo. Like there has not been a change to that.
Yet when bungie implements the special ammo change in 3v3 modes to deter teams from steam rolling other teams immediately it is now an exploit?
No. It is not. The closest thing to an exploit is how Ice Breaker registers 6 rounds as "Max Ammo" so when you switch you get "Max Ammo" for that gun. Other then that, it is not an exploit.
Bungie has even stated it is fair game.

Here's my theory. When sidearms hit HOW, I was confused. What exactly is it? It looks like a hand cannon, feels like the hand cannon's bastard cousin. Then it kinda hit me. In movies you get a sniper and he has a sidearm for when people get close. So my theory is a sidearm is for people who likes to run NLB or universal remote, which is a secondary on a primary slot, then side arms are a primary in a secondary slot. That said I can kind of see why they have regen ammo for side arms, because it will make it compliment NLB without being affected by "oh shucks I don't have any more secondary ammo." Does that make sense?

Sidearm should have low ammo for first round when they switch sniper then it will be 3 bullet in it. .
-
It always spawns with ammo. Been that way since vestian dynasty in yr1
-
It's supposed to
-
But guess specifically put a thing on Twitter about how the ammo regen will always be there as it always has been. People need to quit complaining and play the damn game
-
1 RespuestaHmm. Don't know about you but I got my vestian dynasty when house of wolves came out.
-
When sidearms were created they came with an exclusive perk called reserve ammo with have your gun ammo when you spawn
-
2 Respuestashttp://youtu.be/8FCiDGkM6E8 Using a sidearm actually puts you at a disadvantage on this map against icebreakers But they do need to fix it, well especially icebreaker anyway sidearm doesn't bother me that much tbh
-
The exploit is not using sidearms. If you use a side arm, that isn't the issue.
-
3 Respuestaswell, spawning w/ ammo on a sidearm is intentional. They've always been that way. It's a matter of using sidearms as a way to get ammo in the beginning of the game that is an exploit or not. I don't think it's cheating. I just think it's stupid. If they're going to take away special ammo in the beginning of a match then they should've looked into such an unbelievably simple exploit. Everyone can get a sidearm and switch. Or use another ammo regenerating weapon. The whole change is stupid to begin with having left the exploit out there. If they wanted to promote primary weapon gameplay, they should actually balance crucible & make primaries worth using more as a whole.

3 RespuestasIt became an exploit when the my stopped ammo on spawn. 3v3 should be no special till second round then more on 4th round. Special weapons are already to prevalent. I should know, I have more sniper kills than primary kills.

16 RespuestasThe perk isn't hidden it says on one of the nodes look at ALL of them
-
1 RespuestaSpawns with ammo every time.
-
Yes. It was a very large deal in HoW. The sidearms spawned with ammo, no matter what. It was a perk option in the perk tree. When TTK came with more sidearms, they built the perk into the weapons, much akin to the "hidden perks" that exotics have. They are supposed to spawn with ammunition.
-
It's kind of an exploit but it's been like this since year one
-
5 RespuestasThe only way around it would be to remove the retainment of special in PvP only when you swap weapons. That's the only way you could end the exploit imo.
-
They were meant to have ammo on respawn
-
Id remove the spawning with ammo off the new ones an keep it on dregs promise only

4 RespuestasEditado por vanilla: 3/20/2016 1:37:50 PMSidearms have always spawned in with ammo, that's the incentive to using them. HoW sidearms spawned in with ammo. Nothing really new about that. The exploit is that people are switching weapons to still have that special ammo transfer over to a sniper or shotgun.
-
4 RespuestasI hate sidearm loopholes when players switch special weapon on second round. But I don't have choice when enemies players switch it then I have to do same thing.
-
2 RespuestasI never understood why a sidearm spawns with ammo and other special weapons don't. It's just plain retarded.
-
1 RespuestaI've recently grown fond of actually using a sidearm. They're solid guns to pair with a scout or with NLB.
-
2 RespuestasYou seem a little new. So here's a bit of special ammo history, from a beta player. Back when this game launched its beta. If you switched between a fusion and a sniper rifle, you lost all your special ammo, but if you switched from a fusion to a fusion, you only lost half your ammo. When the game launched, bungie changed it so that you only lost half your ammo when switching between special weapons. Then when HoW launched, sidearms became a thing when the Vestian dynasty was released. With its defining characteristics of being good in close to medium ranges and always having ammo on spawn, it was a good choice for a secondary in the crucible if you were using either the NLB, UR, or a long range scout rifle. Anyway, long story short, the only way to fix the current special ammo exploit in the crucible is probably by reverting special ammo to how it was in the beta.

1 RespuestaSidearms have always spawned with ammo since vestian dynasty made its appearance.
-
1 RespuestaI do the sidearm cheese. If anything, everyone can do it so stop moaning. However I can see why people don't like it. So the easiest thing to do is just to remove all special ammo at the start of every round. This will mean that people won't spend a round special farming and will end up fighting more. Also they need to remove being able to see your own ghost and ghosting. If you die, you should become utterly useless, to your team, as punishment for you dying. That's just my opinion though.

1 RespuestaIt's both meant to be in the game and is being used as a exploit
