So I've been playing on a 46" roughly 5 year old LG HD tv since launch. Destiny is the first game I've played where I'm focused on pvp. I've heard that using a monitor over tv is a better choice. I recently ordered a BenQ 27" monitor with a 2ms input delay. It'll be here in a week or so I think and I'm hoping it'll improve my play. I'm wondering what you guys think and what your set up is. Thanks!
Note: I'm pretty good at pvp with my current set up. Diamond trials elo, 1.5ish KD etc.
Edit: thanks everyone for being so kind and responsive, I'm a noob as far as monitors go and I'm just a nooby (yeah I said nooby) when it comes to these forums! Very nice people
Edit:
Well dudes and dudets, I got that crispy monitor today, I pulled it out the box like "wha bam" then I put that sexy beast together like "ker Klink" then I plugged that saucy ps4 hdmi cord in and fired that shit up "bbeeee yooooouuup" and like gosh damn that shit gave me a total eyegasm :'(
It was beautiful (laaaaahh taaaaahhh) after about 20 minutes of crying I hopped into some saucy control and got to biz "pew pew pew die bitch die" it was wonderful not having to tilt my big stupid face to the other side of the screen to see my radar and then move my massive shoulder bolder back to the other side to watch dumb dumb dickface snipe my balls off (ps I love sniping lol) now for you guys wondering if it improved my skills... Ummmm -blam!- to the no! I was still getting the cock but I wasn't screaming I FUKING SHOT THAT GUY 400 TIMES, because I could clearly see that I only shot him 399 of the necessary 400 to kill a gosh damn self res warlock (I love warlocks, nerf fusion rifles haha jk wtf is a fusion rifle)
This thing is great and I would recommend a monitor to anyone who loves pvp. Noooow if you are a pve scrub and you think a monitor is going to put you on the giving end of that salty teabag you're wrong (pve is great but im so bad I haven't even beat oryx on hard mode so I'm gonna down the whole pve community lol) the field of view on a smaller screen is a big help and that really low input lag is awesome but those things will only favor really skilled players! Like those spilt second moments where it's you or them, you won't always win but the playing field feels more even.
I've only had the chance to play a few games so far and I got destroyed every time, but I whole heartedly love my monitor and I think once I get used to it I'll love it even more and my gameplay will improve! Thanks all you who commented and stuff! You guys are great, even those slimly trolls! Haha jk if you're a troll you can go -blam!- yourself. Btw there are probably several grammatical errors in here, I do not care lol

2 RespuestasI play on a TV
-
1 RespuestaI play on. 24 inch asus monitor with a 1 ms refresh rate
-
Monitors are probably better, but I still like playing on my 80" TV.
-
1 RespuestaYou can if you want but destiny is a 30 FPS game. It will reduce input lag but I think it makes the game look worse.
-
1 RespuestaGood choice with the BenQ, but a 24" is better than a 27" for me.
-
Monitir
-
No difference. Destiny lag overwrites everything
-
No difference if you have a good TV and can setup/calibrate it properly. You are playing with a pad a few ms means little and is this game even vsynced to 60fps?
-
Monitor. Always. In fact, my 27" is a bit big for me though I'm relatively close to it. Input lag is a thing of the past.
-
I'd go with monitor just for less screen delay (although I've been playing on a 10 year old LCD projector tv since vanilla lmao)
-
Monitors are sharper than tvs even the ps3 was a big improvement as used to game with a pc monitor before ps4 came out
-
I have a 24 Asus monitor. I will never go back to a regular tv again.

1 RespuestaEditado por ExelArts: 3/17/2016 9:11:15 AMI think it wouldve been better to invest in a better controller like scuff if you haven't already. I play on a monitor anyways, i don't think it makes much of a difference but I'm not sure. Just out of curiosity if does do as op says and anyone Cares to answer. Is my monitor any good for gaming? Samsung 21.5" LED S22D300HY It's got a button for gaming mode but all I can tell it does is that it makes the screen brighter

1 RespuestaEditado por Dro-Logic: 3/17/2016 9:02:22 AMMonitor of course.... Although if you're good like me you could manage to be a top 1k trials player while playing on a 60inch. My monitor broke when I smacked it and forced to play on a 60inch until I get a new one.
-
If you are into professional gaming(torunaments, MLG etc) its worth to invest. If its just to play casually, specially a very casual friendly like Destiny, I wouldnt invest, but thats me.
-
I've been looking into getting a monitor as well. Probably will wait on my tax return to pull the trigger.

3 RespuestasAll i can say is that my 55" Samsung curved suhd works pretty well ^^
-
3 RespuestasWith latencies above 200ms, it really makes no difference at all. The game is broken, not a TV.
-
1 RespuestaI am 6. Your move Bungie. #FreeElitespear

I recently changed from a 32" to 48" Samsung uhdtv, though the lag was going to be a big difference, if anything it's barely negligible and my kd has been improving, for a better idea on how, check my history and past 7 days.

3 RespuestasTrueVanguard will win against the Monitor.

2 RespuestasMonitor Keep the the tv and run both, one for gaming and the other for sports or ya girl I'll be playing destiny or whatever while watch games or investigation discovery

3 RespuestasI switched to a monitor recently - BenQ 27" as well. I was on an old LG - and in Australia TVs run at 50 hz. Switch to 60Hz plus a blistering refresh rate does help - it doesn't turn you from good to awesome, but it does give shift things in your favour - Instead of a kill swap you might come out with a near miss, or you notice that sniper glare early enough to take evasive action. It won't "improve your play" so much as "improve your results" - How you play is still how you play, but you should benefit from better input and refresh. Put together enough marginal gains and soon enough you have a big gain. Best of luck!

2 RespuestasI love my Benq 27"
