I'm an average player. With SBMM I had a ton of fun. I was regularly in challenging matches and very rarely was some elite in the mix skewing the game into something un-winnable for one side or the other. The sheer number of blowouts now is so high. Especially when in the 3v3 games, where one elite among 6 players changes everything.
I get that the elites enjoy stomping out normal players, but I think they'll get bored of that pretty quickly as well. In the mean time Normal players are left with rarely finding a balanced and fun match. My temporary solution has been to bail on every game where the score goes wonky in the first few minutes, but this is tedious .

1 RespuestaWait wait what'd I miss?? SBMM is gone?!?!?!
-
Or we could have ranked and unranked playlists...
-
Well this is the first ..anti cbmm I have seen. Lol. Make up our minds gtfo
-
I would drop thirty kills per game with cbmm but with sbmm I barely can get 20

I honestly think it's funny the 'elite' destiny community manipulated games or whatever to get matched against equally skilled people for competitive games but now that Bungie gives them competition they HATE it. Like honestly make up your damn mind. Location also isn't everything either because I'm sure many of you 'sweaty' or whatever term you have for yourselves party up with people across the country no matter if Bungie only matched you against your neighbor or not *gasp* Another argument is that bad players should keep getting stomped so they learn to get better but these same players don't want competition and to get stomped themselves (which skill matchmaking would cause) I guess because they don't want to better themselves and just have fun... The logic makes no sense but on this forum it pretty much dominates. Never played a similar game where the best never wanted to play each other. Even in halo historically social slayer has had an element of skill in the matchmaking process. All you elitists stop being hypocrites. You don't like skill based matchmaking because you can't use weapon X or y without getting stomped, keep using it against good competition and you'll get better with it... Right? Also I don't think skill matchmaking has any significant effect on lag. As I said you're probably partying up with friends around the world as is. Destiny has shitty connectivity always has always will it's not always players connections fault or the distance between players. It's probably just more noticeable playing better competition when you feel like a little delay in shots registering when it causes you to die.

4 RespuestasSup. Higher skilled player here. SBMM sucks for us if we have to play it 24/7. If you skip out on matches were you get owned, you might as well quit Destiny entirely. You don't learn if you win all the time. I sucked during Halo 3, but I buckled down and learned how to play. That's how training goes.

As that 1 in 6 player that is forced to carry his team in order to even hope of winning half the time, SBMM doesn't help anything. I swear the game's team-creation system once a lobby is made is utterly horrid. The amount of times I've been paired with people that can barely shoot straight against hardscoping campers (or in year 1, Thorny blinky shotgunners) is ridiculous.
-
It's still here in every game type except control, even there it exists a bit
-
Or, rather than running Destiny's PvP in a P2P connection, meaning one player is the "host" and everyone else connects to them, the could just build dedicated servers for PvP where you actually connect to a Bungie server rather than a random person in the world.
-
SBMM IS A DISEASE created by mad scientists (devs) that have no concept of the outside world (P2P connections). All they needed or need to do was create a ranked playlist with better rewards.- Trials of Osiris. SBMM was single handedly the fücking dumbest mistake they made to date.

Come on............. Ok I'll lay it out since Bungie's update missed your eyes. There is still SBMM with connection being priority. They search for players around your skill around your region. If that fails they bump up the skill in your area. If that fails they further expand to your skill level wherever. That's how I understand it anyway. Things are much better now. Sometimes there are sweaty matches then sometimes it's more chilled out. Things are better this way.

Said no one ever!

You have a kd of. 7 I play with friends with your kd and I can easily out preform them and my kd is 1.2 over all. SBMM was cancer to any good player.... With SBMM a 20 kill game for me was hard to do cuz eveyone was so try hard. I understand that it was fun for less skilled players to be matched with people on there lvl. For higher skilled players you had to focus and really try... That's not fun to do if you want to relax and enjoy a match after work. With CBMM I have been using a fusion rifle ( so much fun) and mida or any of the exotic scouts, and I can go in and have fun and not die constantly to a godly sniper. And I only have a kd of freaking 1.2 and I was probably getting people from 1.2 - 2.0 every match against everyone's tlw sniper.

1 RespuestaI must admit I have been getting my ass kicked a lot worse than I normally do. I am one of those that will never ever be good at PvP no matter how much I practice or how much time I put in.
-
Someone getting bored of constantly stomping lower skilled players and feeling like they're number one in the world? Doubt that will ever happen
-
No, just no. I don't want to play Control like I was in a tournament every -blam-ing day. Just look @ Rumble and how awful it is right now. I can't beat people in this mode because everyone is playing like this some sort of MLG Competition with the meta. If I want to be competitve, there is Iron Banner and Trials Of Osiris for that.
-
I'm like 90% sure they only added connection based matchmaking in control.
-
the only mode currently Connection based is Control, what on earth are you rambling about.

Editado por Fibby: 3/3/2016 4:15:06 PMThe game doesn't have connection based matchmaking, it's still skill based and therefore a laggy mess.
-
Hell no
-
No I actually get to run around with autos that isn't DoP and do fairly well and enjoy it lol
-
Editado por ClearBEny: 3/3/2016 4:03:44 PMNo thanks. I would take getting stomped on by an actual good player over getting stomped on by some redbar scrub.
-
Ya from what I've noticed it's still far more SBMM over CBMM so don't worry about it....
-
2 RespuestasEditado por ashesofman: 3/3/2016 3:15:29 PMWhy don't you become elite and stop crying? It's unbelievable that bad players feel like they should do well in a PVP game. How self entitled are the children of today? Persevere and become a good player or get used to losing. Bad players deserve to lose by virtue of not being good. There's no kiddie table at a chess tournament.

1 RespuestaWell that's quite awkward considering sbmm is still there...
