I started playing Destinty again after a long break. The first 10 or so hours was amazing - tons of fun story quests and very nice rewards from strikes etc. But now, the only quest i have left in the TTK line is to kill Oryx (the raid). And i've been grinding the 36 strikes like mad the last few days (probably 30+ strikes) and have found only one blue engram that generated an item over 290. Being a casual player with limited game time it's very frustrating to be stuck here. I have been posting on LFG forums to do the raid, Court of Oryx, Nightfall etc but people in general doesn't want anything to do with someone at this low light level. Same goes for practically any quest where you have to go LFG - i'm soon at the final step for the Exotic Sword but i assume that no one will be willing to help since i'm at a low light level.
So what should i do? Do the Heroic strikes? Better chances for a 290+ blue drop from bosses?

You are high enough light to run the raid. If you are on xbox one the shoot me a message some time.
-
Heroic strikes or plead with someone in Recruitment to drag you through a hard mode raid just up to Oryx. By the time you get there you'll be 305-ish.
-
Try 319-320

I cannot say enough good things about The 100. You can create games for others to join or join games created by others. Some people do stipulate light level, others do not and some specifically welcome newcomers.

You just came back to Destiny a little too late. No one wants to do Court of Oryx,/exotic quests because we've all done them and don't go back, same goes for the raids. People who are just under 320 light level only get challenge mode check points on all characters, do the challenge only and be done with it to get their 320 special weapon or armor they're missing. There are a lot of people that still help out in raids. My advice to you is look on LFG sites outside of the forums cos it's a damn mess in here. Ignore the "317+ must have ToM and spindle" posts (Trust me, I've joined those raids and more than half of them struggle killing their knights on platforms) and just put out a post asking for help, that you're new and find a group that are all around your light level, you'd be surprised to find someone who is experienced, high light level and willing to help, we are out there :) 290 is when to start normal raid, I always tell people who are new to King's Fall is to go get the Hung Jury scout rifle from Dead Orbit - It's an awesome scout to start off with in raid (I still use it in PVE/PVP) and do the "Taken War: Earth quest - The King's Decay" which gives you a great 1000 yard stare as a reward (This raid is more about sniping bosses than the good old Gjallarhorn days - good times) and machine guns. I hope you get lucky and find a group that can help :) Best of luck!

Raid, strike , nf

4 RespuestasYou're doing it wrong. Should take two hours tops. Remember the drop algorithm for new engrams. Put highest engram on before every decryption. Wear highest engrams regardless of stats and don't waste time leveling them up. Should be done in about twenty strikes or court or damn near anything.

14 RespuestasYou think that's a pain try 319 to 320
-
3 RespuestasDo the exotic sword quest, it'll give you a 310 heavy. Then if you get your other gear close enough to 300 you might break 300. Once you break 300 if you use 3oC and farm exotics, you have a chance at getting 310 gear from exotic engrams. Then you can infuse those with your gear and get even higher. Also IB R5 gives you a 310 ghost I think? And maybe a 310 gear? Not sure either way you can get there without the raid but it's tedious. I did it and it was a pain, still only 307 but I'm slowly making my way up.

Court of Oryx amd iron banner will help you make the jump from 290 to 300.
-
Court of Onyx and IB are your best bets this week. Nightfall generally awards something around 300 light too. Sword quest has matchmaking as well.
-
1 RespuestaMan you're high enough to do the raid, I've run normal on all my characters when they were around 290. When you join just be honest that you haven't done it and a lot of people will help you with it as long as you listen.
-
The Court of Oryx on the hardest level should help you . Also do the trials bounties , and give iron banner a try . good luck !
-
2 RespuestasI need to do a butt load of court of oryx sometime, are you on XB1?
-
Just to give you all an update: i grinded to level 5 in Iron Banner and did the Warpriest challenge with a PuG. Now my light is 302! So once i complete the raid i hope to bump that up to 304-305, and now that i got over 300 i'll buy some stuff from Xur today and increase further.
-
Wait until you are 315 ..
-
Farm the court of Oryx. It's usually pretty easy and tons of blues drop.
-
yes do vangard strike every week friend's you start getting the loot try buy coins xur too and court oryx Goodluck
-
Other than finding an understanding group for the raid, Iron Banner would get higher light gear though level advantages are enabled so you would be at a disadvantage. You could still grind your way through Exotic swords also drop at 310 light do they would help boost your overall light level.
-
3 RespuestasI just want to do the damn warpriest challenge on my PlayStation account :(
-
I would help you through the raid, 319 light
-
LFG kinda sucks, try out The 100. You join a group where you can make events (say the raid) and people join or vis versa. You should be able to do the normal raid, hopefully War Priest challenge too will help you a lot. (310 artefact) Otherwise, heroic strikes and the tier 3 Court of Oryx are your best bets

1 RespuestaDear members of Bungie i've been trying to get the twilight Garrison for a long time now I'm not trying anymore I'm just hoping that I will retrieve it one day I will appreciate it if I get it that will be all
-
290 is MORE than enough for a normal raid. The highest level enemies in normal mode are 300. By comparison the hard raid has level 320 enemies towards the end. Elite teams ask for 315+. Having people on normal ask for 300 on normal is like asking for 320s on hard mode.
-
Iron banner rank five always a 300 or over item
